Do you guys put an even amount into stamina and hearts? I have 4 upgrades to hearts and 3 to stamina right now...feeling torn.

With my first 12 upgrades or so I put 10 into stamina and only 2 into hearts. Glad I did it because there were so many areas I wanted to explore where I needed every bit of stamina to get to.

I put preference to stamina until I got the first second wheel. After that I felt pretty good about climbing everything and then went more into hearts.

I'm a little over 30 hours in. 24 or so shrines, and three DBs down.

The relatively tame dungeons and uninspiring dungeon bosses hurt a lot. Every other aspect of this game is just sublime. Damn near perfect game design. But man, these bosses and dungeons that prop up the main quest are disappointing. Not only are their designs generic mash-ups of shapes and goop, but the "gamey" patterns they deploy really rid the moments of suspense.

Love everything else, though. The depths of this game world... damn. So many layers.

Just finished my second dungeon
(the bird one and did Zora first)
and I've got to say... As much as I love this game, the dungeons are kinda underwhelming.

Really short and simple. I'm having way more fun finding the shrines and completing them than doing the full dungeons.

Lol, that timing.

Hell, I've had more fun just finding towers and uncovering ways to climb some of the tougher ones.

Do lynels teleport to your location when you run away? Someone is telling me yes. I'm saying no, they just run fucking fast. Link is a lot slower than a damn lion-horse!

I am so taking my time with this lol.

Got Master Sword
52 Shrines
68 Korok Seeds
1 Divine Beast lol
2 Great Fairies
3 Towers left

And loaded up with full recovery food and fairies

The Lost Pilgrimage is super lame.

Almost there and he gets attacked by a wolf. He calls out "Help me mister hero!" so I do. Instead it just penalizes me and makes me start all over again. Ugh.

I saw this on Facebook just now and I can't stop laughing:

The poses (especially Zelda's "come at me"), Zelda's facial expression, it's perfect lol.

I've beaten multiple white haired Lynels and visited the colosseum but no silver Lynel was found :( what gives?

Did you beat the Colosseum one first? Was there a blood moon?

May also be based on number of lynels killed.

I managed to lure one off a cliff and he teleported back, though there was an actual animation involved and kinda slow. The lynels are just fast otherwise.

the first dungeon i went to was alone better than any wind waker dungeon. Skyward Sword team with the puzzles. but it was wayyyy too short.

Man. Love this game. There's usually more than one way to skin a cat. Totally didn't realize you could jump on the back of a stone talus and just wack the black stone with a sword. I've been using bomb arrows this entire time.

Should mention for anyone else interested like I was, but there's some Smash Bros. Link Amazon Prime certified amiibo's coming in stock tomorrow for $70. Prime certified means you can just return it after using it to unlock what you want in the game (if you have Amazon Prime).

One second I'm worried about losing my weak ass throwing spear and the next second I'm finding multiple laser swords and knight blades.

I love this game :)

Man, why does the sun rise so early? It's only 3:45am!

WVW69kJmdtQ7OcVZSZ

The day/night cycle is a bit weird. I think it is basically considered 'morning' at 4am and it hits night around 7. If you're in a town you'll hear the music change around then.

I just had a blood moon at 7:30am, I thought it was a special event or something, but the game showed the same cutscene as always and kept loading for a while, I thought it was going to freeze, but it let keep playing exactly where I left.

I've seen them physically teleport, yes. The most recent time I noticed it was when I was using my glider to try to mount it but right before I did he did the animation and teleported a feet or two away, as if he knew. Then again this was the white one so it wouldn't surprise me

That's weird, I seem to recall the Great Fairy not giving me the option the upgrade those clothes. Will probably pay a visit to a different fairy and see if that changes anything.

Amiibo sets can be upgraded with (item spoiler?)
star fragments. They fall from the sky
.

only done like 6 shrines total but game really seems to want me to kill and eat basically everything i come across. Feels a bit mean spirited (or psychotic depending on your methods), so im only eating meat that I steal from enemy camps :(
Link really gives no fucks in this game

I think you could get by just fine doing a vegetarian run if you wanted, plants are abundant and can have pretty good recovery effects once cooked.

You have to have materials to upgrade any piece to get to the upgrade menu, you can highlight any grayed out piece to see if it's upgradable and which materials it needs.

Just got the tower for the desert (I came into it from the southwest by the Rito area so had to go back to the tower after exploring). The plot and shrines in this area are really fun but it's a desert so it's pretty... deserted, with long wastes between sights. Easily avoided if I bothered to bring a mount down. Just the south east map section left, though I've barely been north at all except for the town with the second ancient lab. At some point in gonna go on a scavenger hunt for stuff to power up my favorite outfits, but I think I should get a second Beast done by hour 50?

Wow I did not know this. I got to the deku tree a different way.

When you go off track the music gets louder and the fog gets thicker, when that happens you have a solid 2 seconds to turn around and get back on track.

I got to it a different way than both of you

I followed the healthy, normal looking trees and not the ones with faces.

My god (location spoiler)
Lanayru Promenade with the flooded ruins
is so fucking beautiful. May be my favorite locale in the game so far.

There's no way to change your attack style with a weapon other than holding the stamina meter to charge it, doing a jump attack, or doing a drop attack from the glider - right?

I'm pretty sick of always swinging these weak horizontal swipes with the Master Sword, hah. I want to jab and slice vertically/diagonally too!

Weird, I've never seen them do this! Even tried running from them and nothing happened.

It happened to me twice. One when I hid behind a tree that he can't aim his arrows at me. The other one, because I move too fast and he can't catch me when he rotates, he just gave up rotating and teleported behind me.

So I just did the Castaway mission on
Eventide Island
. Holy shit that was extraordinary. Got the last orb and then a blood moon showed up. Take care of it but then I can't figure out where the last placement is. Vaguely remembered something at the start. Yep there it is. But how am I to get the orb there? My ship is... gone? Oh boy. But wait. This massive palm tree. Time to do the walk over the tree which hasn't been necessary once since that one time in the intro section. I get as close as possible to the placement area and chuck the orb there. Finish it by grabbing it and placing it in the hole. Whew. Amazing.

Except I thought I was completing a hidden shrine according to Kass' "17 of 24" which I took to mean five o'clock heading from the island. Apparently not lol. Now I'm stuck trying to figure out this word puzzle.

Don't think too much. Look where it's pointing. It's not necessarily way off in the distance either

The game so subtly gave you the tools to find the answer and then made brilliant use of the physics engine to bring you to your destination it absolutely blew me away.

This is the kind of mind bending think outside the box puzzle that I love in Zelda and other games and it's been missing for so long.

The fun thing is a random NPC will suggest this method to you and you'll have the chance to never find them. I found them AFTER I found out.

Its like the animators purposely chose a dying animation that makes you feel like an ass for killing wildlife too.

A lot of things in this game are hinted by NPCs. The fun thing is because there's no order of places to go to, you'll most likely discover how things work before you see the NPC that gives you the necessary hint lol.

I actually got a Shrine quest from someone and it was something I had already figured out. The "Shrine Quest Icon" popped up, disappeared, and then immediately popped up with completed.

Is there a reason, like crafting, to keep gems like rubys, ambers and opals or can I sell them all?

Little bit. There's a shop in
Gerudo town
that sells items for gems, but they're all (good looking but) worse versions of items you can buy for cash. Also, the highest level of armor upgrades often cost gems (like the gear that keeps you warm requires a couple rubies to max). There are also a few side quests that will want some number of gems.

I always sold myself down to fifteen or twenty of each stone whenever I needed cash, and I've never really hit a wall on needing them but being empty.

Came back from a week long trip, but was able to get a few hours in this game during it. Climbed all of the towers, completed the ancient armor (Link looks so badass with it), got most of the memories, and left off on the last divine beast I need done. There some small disappointments I have, particularly story related and how some of the divine beast quests plays out, but I still love this game so freaking much, that it could still very well be one of my favorite zelda games.
