Are there any big moneysinks besides
the house + upgrades
in H
ateno
? I'm 60+ hours in, one dungeon down, and I've got rupees + materials out the ass. I've only really explored Necluda, Central Hyrule, and Lanayru.

Also is anyone else doing any self-imposed challenges? I'm not cooking any more (besides roasting on a fire), and I'm capping myself at 10 armor.
 
Really wish I could find that Korok bloke again. I could use some more inventory slots.

Also, for 900 korok seeds in game, it feels weird to have less that 100 on hand.
 
Silly question for people who have a certain something in Hateno Village
a/the house. I paid for flowers but I don't see any. I may have quickly skipped through some dialogue. Do flowers take time to grow?
Or am I just not seeing them.

It's a lot of everything except gears. I have more than enough springs, shafts and screws.

They're just in the field with the trees, not proper "garden" flowers.

My drop rates are not good. I've only been able to make one piece of Guardian gear because I've had so few of them. Then add upgrading to the mix. Seems like a huge waste of time honestly?
 
I'm gliding over a river towards an unusual blue glow on the horizon and after a few minutes I reach a green meadow spotted with blue and white flowers where I see a Shadowfax looking horse grazing on the grass. I carefully inch closer and hop on, trying my best to tame it, but it bucks me. I give chase and it leads me to a shining statue in its likeness and past that, a memory of the princess Zelda.

Every moment of this game is an adventure.
 
I need a quick way to
trigger one of those Yiga Clan people to get a Windcleaver. Any ideas?

EDIT - and I don't need help anymore. lol. Just my luck
 
I feel like I'm getting kind of burnt out on the game.

I was really enjoying it for the first 20 hours, I've done one dungeon and am going to Death Mountain for the second but something about going to enemy outposts just doesn't feel rewarding? I just lose my weapons and replace them and it's that over and over again.

Once I realized that, it took a lot of enjoyment out of the exploration.

I don't know maybe I need a break. It's truly something special but I don't know how to get over that.
 
Dude, I somehow completely missed the
forgotten temple
the first time I treked through that huge canyon/ruins area when I was ~25 hours into the game. What the fuck!
 
okay, so i handled all the big stuff in zora's domain, but when i go looking for how to get zora armor/etc i keep seeing people swimming really fast upstream on walls/etc...how do you get that ability?

you climb waterfalls with the zora chestpiece for finishing the dungeon

Mix it up with shrines, sidequests, memories and main quest progression. Also it's fine to take a break if you need to. Go at your own pace.

I abstained from Zelda today since I overdid it over the weekend. Eyes were hurting and I needed to go back to the real world for a day lol I've been dying to play now so I cant wait until tomorrow.

You gain a lot of defense from upgrading the right combination of gear, this is probably the highest defense stat Link can have in the game

Coupled with some good recipes, Silver Lynels barely do anything
 
Has anybody figured out how the creation of potent elixirs works exactly? So I know that a critter and a monster part results in an elixir based upon the effect that the critter part has (and just like cooking of food, you can't have multiple effects, you need to stick to one). Using multiple critters of the same "effect group" (up to four, you need a monster part, after all) results in a more potent elixir, with some critters having a larger "value" of the same effect. On the other hand, using four monster parts and only one part of a critter results in a really weak potion. So you apparently need only 1 monster part and 4 critters, seems clear enough.

What I don't get is how different monster part's rarity / quality play into this. I only tested for a bit (I couldn't be bothered to do the reload-try-reload-try method yet...) because of limited critter materials (I seldom pick those up, plants are more convenient). But I combined four kinds of a critter with say a Bokoblin horn, and then the same four critters with a Moblin horn and the resulting elixirs were identical. Do I have to use a monster part of a "rare" creature that puts up a proper fight like
a Hinox or a Lynel
(minor spoiler of creature names)? I haven't got around to try it with those. Because I was lazy. Does anybody know?

For being Light Arrows, they don't really do all that much damage, though. But as a tool they're crazy useful.

I've tried for collectively about 4 hours or more to get that fucking bow and have had no luck thus far. =/

A bit jealous :). Never quite had that perfect framing of an exploit with this game, outside of set pieces.
 
Just completed my last dungeon,
Vah Medoh

I feel like the Zora dungeon, it started out cool for the first 2 terminals or so and then it's just "use dungeon map ability and get handed remaining terminals for free". Seems weird that when you go to the rooms for the last 2 or 3 terminals it's just an empty room with the terminal instead of another puzzle.

The Goron and Gerudo dungeons handled this much better, having a sense of progression where you move from one "phase" of the dungeon to the next. In the Goron dungeon, you start with trying to navigate in the darkness to get the map, then you can start finding terminals. The Gerudo dungeon is even better; first you have to navigate around the default position to find the map, then you have to mess with the map to find a few terminals, then you have to mess with the electricity to get a few, and then you have to move to the upper area for the final two.

I think I'd rank the dungeons Naboris>Rudania>Medoh>Ruta. I don't have a problem with divine beasts being different from the dungeons of old where you find an item which changes how you look at the dungeon. I just wish they were all Naboris/Rudania quality and not as simple as Medoh and Ruta.
 
Just finished my last divine beast (southwest one), and damn probably my favorite out of the 4.

Took a bit to figure out the mechanic for Naboris, and man did it feel satisfying of powering up more spots to explore the upper areas and all. Thunderblight Ganon was tricky too.

Yep. One of the million reasons why I love this game. Climbing a mountain, marking a new shrine on your map, then paragliding down to it... never gets old.

Methinks that while there isn't an explicit order to things, they were developed with the idea that you'd attempt them in the order of Zora, Rito, Goron, and Gerudo.

Logic being you don't require any sort of resistances to traverse Zora's Domain, and it's a relatively good introduction to the game's weather and traversal mechanics. For the Rito, you likely already have one piece of gear to survive cold weather, so getting one more piece won't be too much trouble. Climbing Death Mountain to reach the Goron requires you to use elixirs, which is a good introduction to not requiring armor to traverse hostile climates. And lastly, the Gerudo Desert combines all three mechanics (hostile weather, freezing at night, scorching at day).

Simple put, I figure there's a reason

is such a hardass.
 
Well I'm done with the game until the DLC.

35 hours. Got Master Sword, all towers, all memories ,about 100 koroks and 45 shrines.

Although I skipped every dungeon and went straight to Ganon.

The bosses were pretty cool, although Zelda bosses are never hard, they were a bit harder considering I only played with 3 hearts the whole game. I parry the whole time, making them easier, but much more satisfying to kill.

-I'm disappointed in the music, not because its minimal, but because the most frequent song you hear is one of the weakest in the game. The enemy battle themes were all disappointing in my opinion. Only Ganon's was good.
-Story was okay. Better then some Zelda games, but won't be memorable like say WW or MM.
-VA was okay, its not horrible, just needed better direction. Get the person who did FE or KI.
-This game has my favorite NPCs of the series. Funny and charming. Beedle disappointed me, WW's was much better.
-This Link is great, his sassy responses gave him some character
-Although I loved the exploration, I personally felt the game was too big.

All and All, a great entry in the series. I'll have to come back some time later to see where it would rank in my personal favorites. Right now its 5th. Behind Wind Waker, Ocarina, TP, and Minish Cap

Maybe I found it more difficult because I did it second LOL
It was still a lot of fun though.

Yeah I've been playing about 3 hours every day, but I'm just a little sad because I adored it going in and hadn't played a Zelda title since Windwaker but got burnt out pretty quick.

It's a good game, but I the gameplay loop is really starting to show for me.

Explore, find shrine, find tower, do sidequest which is neat but rewards nothing special, advance story.

I don't even know what I'm complaining about, but it just feels like they made this huge map and tried to pad it out with way too much.

I still think it's awesome that a player has the option to finish the game without seeing a single dungeon.

And I just tamed her :D I wanna say it's Zelda's horse, or a descendant. She stayed very close to where the memory was found and looked just like the horse Zelda was riding in it.
 
Got all towers. Now with those pointless chores done it's time to actually play.

BTW stamina first was super useful. I think at 75% of a second circle it's enough to climb wherever you need to get anywhere pretty well. You just have to know your limits and select with path up wisely.

Also protip: If you want to go to super cold places but don't have the gear for it, fuck eating spicy food and just carry a fire rod on your back. I presume this will also work for ice rod in the desert, but that probably wouldn't save you on death mountain.

Protip 2: Luminous stones are ez farming in such cold places and sell for nice money.
