If you're a fan of Colin, there is nothing to be ashamed about, dude stayed true to himself and didn't waver. Yeah he is going to go through the internet process of being called every name and label under the sun because it makes those people feel good. I feel good knowing that after watching yesterday's show I have renewed faith in the kinda funny community and their hosts, they all showed love to their friend and respect his wishes to do what he loves. They all looked upset by it and they said don't get riled up by the polygon's and other newsites just looking to pour more gasoline on the fire. They asked the fans to speak the truth, though speaking it in this thread may be a lost cause.
I stand with Colin, but I also stand with Greg and the rest of the team there. They have something special going on, This over reaction and celebrating everyone is doing, is only probably giving Colin fuel for his first few episodes of whatever he goes on to do. This will also fuel Kinda Funny to work extra hard at delivering content and to fill the void Colin left. I wish much success to everyone involved.

Being true to yourself isn't something to be admired when true to yourself means spouting out sexist remarks and embracing politics that only benefit rich white people.
He was an offensive Rush Limbaugh wannabe who held disgusting views on women and utter contempt for the poor. That is nothing to be proud of.
There is no defense for the hateful comments he has made over the past year.

Colin lacked empathy for others while shouting the importance of civil discussions to only provoke negative response in the next breath.
People have this weird obsession with his friendship with the other KF host. I don't subscribe to this "best friend" claim and I would question someone's emotional maturity if they believed Colin acted like a good friend these last few weeks.
Colin doesn't want us to come together. He wants to sit on his high horse and make disparaging comments about the poor and embrace policies that only benefit rich white men and attack anyone who points out how offensive his views are to many groups of people.

You and Colin make this argument as if people did not celebrate GG. Even Greg kept on telling Colin that the majority of people praised GG and pushed back on criticism. And then followed it up with a stupid argument about minorities and outrage culture.

I genuinely feel like Colin found playing games to be a chore too often. And he was often flippantly wrong about things and dismissive about others (eg, Ueda's game design).
Its not good enough because he had to follow it up with a shitty stance. If he had left it at that, there wouldnt have been a problem.
But saying other people shouldnt fight and argue for others who are being oppressed in any matter is idiotic. Do you agree with that too? Because THAT is what people are upset about from that conversation. Stop ignoring the obvious.

Sure, they can be celebrated for that, but that doesn't make them immune to other criticism. The criticism about Native American appropriation was entirely valid, and they dismissed it because they thought that any criticism meant that people were tearing the game down, as though people only are capable of having one feeling toward a product. Their message was reductive and they tried to place Horizon on a pedestal where it can't be faulted, when it absolutely can

Greg also made the comment of "this guy seems to be on our side on this issue" yet no one bats an eye at that.
It's almost as if the target is painted and people can't veer off course.

That's a ridiculous argument. A game being progressive and inclusive doesn't give it a free pass.
Horizon is a fantastic game when it comes to diversity and character representation as a whole doesn't mean that certain minority groups cannot challenge specific representation.
Further, even if the criticism ends up being unwarranted, it doesn't mean that a discussion shouldn't occur.
And Colin's the last guy who should be spouting off about any of this. The issue is a bit too nuanced for him.

Definitely. Part of it is also that this sort of pushback will always come back and hurt you when you act like a dick and have little empathy for certain aspects in society, which Colin fits that criteria. If you add him being a republican and for the right, you basically just need to multiply the hate level by a large number when it comes gaf in particular lol.. I find it very amusing how quickly people love to jump on someone though, they relish it. Kinda fucking sad for a human being, but you know, do you fam. I've come to this topic yesterday every 3-4 hours, and the guy with the top post on that pic someone posted was just shitting on Colin in every single post with pure rage. I was checking only 2-3 pages at a time as well, but it's nice that there's people with that much free time on their hands. I wish I had even a quarter of that guy's time to waste of trivial things.
I am curious to see what Colin gets into, but I don't know how much I can follow him since I sense it will fall under 90%+ political. And I just cannot get too much into it since both sides esp when it comes to US politics falls under so much bullshit, double standards, hypocrisy, it's hard to keep track of it all without getting a headache sifting through the nonsense. But as long as people can form their little cliques and tell the other groups to go fuck themselves instead of trying to figure out a way to group together instead, this isn't going to change. And I don't foresee that changing in the future either, merely getting worse over time.
Colin if you're actually reading this, thank you very much for your work at IGN, Podcast Beyond and KF. Been following the OG podcast since .. well I can't even remember the year, that's how long it's been. I definitely feel KF will lose a ton with your insight, even though you were turning into oldmanyelling.gif this last year which lost me some interest in following the squad. You just don't seem that much into games nowadays, and that's ok. Your insights were still were welcome and unless KF finds a knowledgeable individual that knows Sony well, I'm not sure how much I can follow KF overall.. at least on a regular basis. Nick is just not a gamer, and you need some equilibrium with someone who looks at games in a different view than what Greg/Tim offer. I would suggest to tone down antagonizing people for fun as you can still make your point accross even without it. Also, I'd like to see you on Joe Rogan's podcast at some point in the future. I agree with GodOnlyNose in terms of KF and Colin still being friends and them continuing their relationship despite going separate paths. Good luck to the KF team as well, and I hope they find a new regular to join them soon. It's been a fun ride seeing Greg and Colin move forward. Prost.

I liked the PS I love you podcast, it was by far the most entertaining podcast on gaming i've listened to as yet, Bombcast is boring as hell for me and i give up after 30 minutes of them droning on about preserving games etc.
I don't watch any other KF content so i don't really understand what the fuss is all about, but by the sounds of it he's said some stupid controversial shit and now he's paying for it.
For me personally i'm disappointed PS ILY will suffer from this, but i'm sure the rest of the gang will work something out, Tim seems good so maybe just a Greg and Tim podcast?

I really think that too, but as a conservative man, it is really difficult for him to understand that he is doing things wrong and that there is a way to fix them and a way to make them worse.

Yeah, I mean I respected his opinion but I agree that too often it seems like he's just so damn negative about everything. As you referenced, he said he only played about an hour of TLG and pretty much hated it. And his initial thoughts on BotW were that he didn't get why everyone was loving it. It gets to a point where it's just tedious to listen to someone who's so down on so much.

I'm just about as liberal as it gets. I'm sorry, but you're wrong. Colin has stated time again that he's for diversity, gay rights, family planning, didn't vote for Trump (and heavily criticizes him regularly), etc.. etc.. He definitely leans conservative, I often don't agree with him, and he can be an asshole at times, but to call him alt-right makes you sound silly and it dilutes the horrific beliefs & meanings associated with the term.

Colin just fundementally lacks empathy. He can't understand things in a bidirectional way. He only seems to understand things connecting to him, he rarely connects to the issues of feelings of others.

The point isn't the validity of the stance it's the conviction in the face of criticism.
He may be nice to you but ask the groups of people he embraces policies of to make their lives a living hell.
His views on women, minorities and especially the poor are awful, period.
