Super Sentai and Kamen Rider doesn't seem to have that much of a problem with nostalgia pandering, thank goodness

Kakuranger should have been done straight, such a fun series. Well aside from the brutal fights

Kakuranger was a satire of modern Japanese youth and society. It was amazing but if not adapted it would work just as well as certain Japanese sensibilities embedded in Shinkenger. One part where adaptation and rewrites would totally be required.
