There's no plan behind it. Trump simply needs daily validation for his insanity and narcissism, and when he stays too long away from his racist white working class deplorables, he starts feeling dejected and like a loser. He simply cannot fathom how he accomplished so much and everyone still hates him. So this is like his crack, he goes there, gets a hit, feels reinvigorated and then has the energy to proceed on his comically outrageous agenda.

He's campaigning because that was the only part of this whole process he ever actually wanted to do, and he's miserable having to do things that are actual work and where he works for the American people and not himself! It's crushing his soul! It's amazing!
