Mass Effect fan here, my hype has died out completely.
To me personally, this isn't even cannon anymore. More like a budget fan fiction game.

Who knows, maybe the game itself is incredible. But right now I am just not feeling the character design at all, and the facial animation is straight up a huge down grade compare to ME3, let alone DA:I.

This game was supposed to bring Mass Effect fans back, but seems like they are just not trying hard enough. I seriously can't feel they are putting any effort into this game.

(All I can say is, I hope I was dead wrong and the game did a completely 180 and blows everyone away.)

Well the dad has been used extensively in promo material so no it's not necessarily logical to assume that. I figured he had turned rogue, or disappeared or was MIA, and his kids would search for him in the game.

It's really not though. Not every facial expression, dialogue, voice acting is the same. Mass effect has TONS of characters in it.
