I realized today that I never actually used the round bombs except for the 1-2 puzzles where I actually had to roll a bomb... Been using squares 99% of the time.

haha, I'm the opposite, I only use the square one if I don't have a hammer and want to blow up some black rocks.

My main problem after about 70 hours in the game and beating all the dungeons is that the rewards you get make things almost too easy.
Blocking with the goron stuff and spamming the gerudo electricity
allows you to defeat almost any enemy with ease. Guardians and those fat giant dudes are wimps. If the dungeons were harder or had a longer buildup it would be less of a problem but you can blow through them all in an evening if you really want to.

I guess Im supposed to go fight ganon now but I still have so much to do

After 60 hours, 52 Shrines completed, 60 Korok Seeds found, 13 Hearts & 3 Stamina upgrades, 1 Dungeon completion, and 1 epic weapon acquired I'm feeling a little fatigued (mostly due to shrines in order to increase my heart count). I'm going to take a small break and return to exploring again which was much more fun before without grinding for a certain weapon.

I need some help, I don't want to look it up to avoid spoilers.

It regards the main quest I believe, nothing too spoilery.

I have gotten the bird and the elephant beasts, and I need the gerudo and goron ones.

But I have no equipment to handle heat areas. Am I supposed to find npcs / quests to give me one ? Or do I have to use pots to make it through there then spend all my rubies into expensive equipment D: ?

If you take the proper road into those areas NPCs will offer you solutions to your problem. Both cost rupees though.

You can get items or food along the way, but prepare to pay for the full set of clothes. Also, fireprof and heat resist are different stats and will only work in the correct area.

I keep hearing so many good things about Gerudo that I'm saving that area for last. I still know next to nothing about it (just that I dig the girl's design), so I'm looking forward to it.

Talk to people nearby...where would people traveling around normally meet? I tried what you spoiled tagged and didn't get far. Then I talked to people.

Both areas provide protection if you follow the regular path.

It's gonna cost you some money either way.

You only need 2/3 if you dont want to use pots.

I actually ghetto made it through using apples to restore my health ... I was able to get to a shrine but then saw the cost of the pieces needed and I was like .... Yeaaah I'll be back some other time.

I'm poor :( .

Thanks for the info though !

With regards to Gerudo, the temperature is a bit tricky. It's 2 bars hot during noon, 1 bar cold during the night, and normal temp at early morning. So there are ways you can explore there without really buying stuff. And you probably have materials to cook for cooling by now because of your current progress.

As for Goron, there's a nearby stable at the foot of the mountain that sells you fireproof elixirs to get you through temporarily.

Sooo
I'm in eventide island and I've managed to put two balls back in their holes. The last one, however, fell off the mountain top it resided on and I have no idea how to get it back up their and into it's hole. Any suggestions
?

It goes back to the original spot if it goes too far. Check back the area where you found it.

So I just cleared my first dungeon, I found afterward a sidequest to take a picture of a certain Lynel, which I did the first time I got there to gather lightning arrow but the quest doesn't complete. Is it bugged ? Do I have to wait a blood moon and get back there to take another picture ?

You probably have to have the picture currently captured, not just in the compendium.

Holy crap...

I just went to my Bestbuy store to get some printer toner, and there was a BOTW Special Edition just sitting there in the Nintendo aisle.

BOUGHT. $79 with GCU. :-D

The Gerudo thread reminded me of something cool I experienced. AFAIK Gerudo are the only NPCs that
dont run away from monsters. Whenever I've watched NPCs wonder around the around and a monster shows up, they tend to start running. Hylians and Gorons alike. However one time I was in the desert talking to an NPC and a Lizalfos showed up, the Gerudo immediately took out her scimitar and took a battle pose.

Those abs arent just for show.

I wonder if they still run away from bees.

Went to the desert and found out that
to enter the Gerudo city i had to dress like a girl.
After dozens of hours the brilliance of this game keeps surprising me. I also laughed to tears at
Link's animation when the other guy told him he looked gorgeous in that dress AHAHAHAHAHAH

Now i'm after the
Yiga, currently in their lair
for the main quest, didn't expect them to be
banana eating idiots lol

By the way, what happens if when you talk to the leader of the Gerudo you have
the master sword with you? Does something change?

I hope Nintendo are making a sequel to BotW for us to enjoy in 2-3 years.

Don't want this to end for a long while but when it does...

40 hours in and I've got my
house, master sword
, beat the first
divine beast
and done about 40 shrines and collected 40 seeds. But I'm worried seeing the map regions filled out from my exploring and climbing the towers, just 3 towers left on the west side now :( At least the areas aren't all that explored. The towers were too tempting.
Just starting to take on guardians and not having much trouble with them and I'm standing outside the research center in akkala for the first time now.

First time in a decade that I feel like I should play a game with Japanese audio though... some of the voices kinda hurt the game.

I think it's one of the things that's just alone, like the Warm Dublet and a few other things. Which bugs the shit out of me to be honest I want full sets!

>:(

That's sucks!!!

How am I supposed to get a set bonus?

Thanks for the reply.

What goes good with the Champion Tunic since it's not part of a set?

I'm surprised at some of the invisible walls in this game. Especially in the Gerudo region. I'd rather they just cut off that part of the map if you can't explore it. Literally started climbing a mountain then fell down with a "you can't go further" message popping up.

My guess is that the next overhead-ish Zelda will come first

The sequel to BotW will probably be a smaller world, with more dungeons, reusing a lot of mechanics/assets/animations. There's a lot of good AI and Physics stuff there that hopefully isn't a one-off.

Are you sure you just aren't at the edge of the map? I've never seen that message in places that weren't (in fact i've only seen it once at the far far north east in Akkala and only because i went there on purpose to see what happened).

I expected the typical border at the far reaches of the ocean, not on the mainland itself though.
If you're at the edge of the map, you're at the edge of the map. Doesn't matter if it's the ocean or the ground. From your wording it looked like there are invisible walls inside the world, and that is not the case.

Oh gosh yes I know it's the edge of the map. What I don't know is why you'd design the game so that a part of the mainland is out of bounds. I'm literally ON the wall it's telling me I can't climb. Just make any part of the game that can't be explored endless ocean.

It's annoying because I'm running around exploring, running towards a mountain I'm excited to see and then suddenly I hit a border.

Where is Mei supposed to be?
Thought I saw her way back, but this was before the dungeon, I think.
I warped to
Lake Hylia to check, but I don't think I saw her there
.

You're on the right track.
I completely accidentally stumbled upon her like 40 hours after grabbing the quest, was a really nice surprise.

I wonder if it'd have been better or worse if they'd closed off the edges of the map with unavoidable sandstorms, blizzards, tornadoes, Ganon juices and/or lightning strikes. It might have been able to better contextualise those boundaries, but in the end might have caused more of a disconnect due to those boundaries usually being able to be circumvented.
