There is nothing cooler than running up to a guardian when it is targeting you with your master sword drawn. Watching the blade activate and start glowing when you get close enough is nothing but hype inducing
.
Wait what. Does it have a different effect on them than other enemies?

Already several hours into the Wii U version and dammit is this game amazing. I thought the hype would take over and blind everyone, but even my wife loves it so much I can't advance any farther unless she's right there with me.

did my first excursion to hyrule castle and i almost stumbled on the final boss..or at least i think it's the final boss..was looking only for the
memory
so i run away as i approached the
central tower

Spent an hour or so hunting all of the dragon parts

Spent half hour looking for 15 energetic rhino beetles

Already have like 50 something acorns from blowing up trees for tarrey town

Just need 9 more courser bee honey and I can max out the tunic of the wild

There isnt even a cutscene with a "game will end if you enter this room, do you wish to continue?" question. Final battle justs starts.

Jesus why don't I think of that? Haha oh my. Good idea man!

I could also climb this tall pillar and paraglide off it.
If you're talking about the shrine in the swampy area, unless the wind is blowing in that direction, I don't think you'll reach the entrance.

Fire works, and if you don't have fire arrows...

There's a winding path in the water on the opposite side of the shrine from the tall pillar. It's a very narrow and shallow strip that leads from the side of the shrine to the little enemy camp where there's a fire and torch.

I can't wait to get off work and play this game some more.

I've completed all the dungeons/around 75 shrines.

I'm going to do all the shines/side quests before I go to Hyrule Castle.

It may not exist yet in your savefile

You need to
buy the house at hateno
first.

Then
you can talk to one of the carpenters who will leave to build a new town in the akkala region

This place is the best. Buy
all the arrows.

What is the strongest type of Lynel? Because I just fought a
white one with black striping
and he absolutely wrecked me even with 13 hearts and decent armor I ended up scraping by but not after breaking multiple weapons and dying at least once. Are there even more powerful ones than that?

Yeah, just spamming a camp-fire doesn't seem to be yielding a blood moon. I need one for that shrine quest but don't notice them until it's too late!

what exactly do you use monster essence for?
i tried to make monster dishes using that and edible monster parts like lizalfos tails, but all i get is a failure.

Where can I find gear to survive the volcano region for the last beast?

you find the gear
in the zone itself,at goron city,so you need elixirs to resist burning (the ones with the flame, not with the sun)
there's a guy that gives you 3 elixirs near a stable near the death mountain region.

Maybe just go about doing other things and wait for it to happen? I just teleported to the shrine on Satori's Mountain as soon as I saw the blood moon rising and glided all the way to Washa's Bluff with plenty of time to spare.

Well over hundred hours now and this game....just keeps giving and surprising me. The little things here are so lovely and I keep getting stuff which makes me say "jeez they actually thought of this?" I never expected this at all.

Just now I discovered this farm and Rito playing his music instrument was playing a well known Zelda tune and while it was a different tune than BOTW's farm theme it was still completely in sync. Lovely.

Gave a dog several pieces of raw meat and soon he brought me to a treasure chest. There's so much here.

Think I'm going to have to do this but I didn't notice the last one until it was too late. It's my last shrine!

Well, beat the game and
why is there no post-Ganon world to run around in? Meh.

Besides being a Zelda tradition, you can beat the game way before beating any beast.

I love it.

Final boss is like "YOU THOUGHT GET OVER HERE"

Is not as fun when you get there looking for weapons and you havent even beat all the beast yet.

Or maybe its actually more fun, because of how the final boss battle changes compared to thr one you get if you beat all beasts.

I saved at Satori mountain while it was glowing. Finally got to play again after a few days, but the glow was gone as soon as I resumed. I tried reloading my save thinking I had made a mistake. Nope. The mountain is glowing in the save thumbnail but not in game. Is it tied to real time somehow? Does it only work certain days of the week?

Quitting out of the game to the console menu and reloading resets the game world. That stuff is not tied to your save. Same thing would have happened if you had quit the game to main menu and then reloaded it right away.

I just love exploring and "sight seeing" in this game so much. MAN. I've played for probably close to 60 hours and haven't even done any beasts yet, and still have half the map to explore. I'm not a stranger to open world games but something about this one makes me want to just see what's around the corner constantly.

Just trekked West along the North end of the map. Not much up there but hell if I'm going to check it out anyways. I know the game can't be infinite, but running along the edge of the ravine makes me want to explore that other side too! "What's over there?"

I came across a few Lynels in my travels (combat spoiler):
I was sneaking around one of the white-mane ones, and he must of caught a glimpse of me before I ducked behind a rock. I was deciding what I was going to do and I hear him draw and fire a shock arrow. Two seconds later it lands directly on my head and one-shots me, despite hiding behind a boulder. Most enemies just fire at the cover, but clearly this guy doesn't mess around and instead did a perfect drop shot on my skull. Holy shit.

I circled around in a WIDE arc after that. Respect earned, for now at least.

How do you get rid of those thorns around a shrine?

This is actually interesting to know since I've not exited the game or turned off the console in weeks.

I don't use sleep mode on PS4 because it breaks things, but I love it on the Switch.

Lol I climbed a peak in Hebra to get a good vantage point and I accidentally turned the camera around and found a shrine encased in ice. I forgot I had the sensor turned off so it was a great surprise.

I went Zora -> Gerudo -> Rito -> Goron

Same. Seems like we did the best two first. I havent done Goron yet.

YO THE
THUNDER HELM
IS THE FUNNIEST ITEM IN A THUNDER STORM!

So,
which Divine Beast did you folks do first? I did Vah Ruta. Please no spoilers on what's in each Beast.

I also did Vah Ruta first I think it's probably the most complex of the 4.

Dungeon wise I think as far as complexity I'd say it goes Zora > Gerudo > Goron > Rito

I ended up doing them Zora > Goron > Rito > Gerudo

Well, i have just beaten the game. I avoided this thread (and others) to not get spoiled.

70 hours or more it says. I love this game so much that i now feel empty inside. Don´t even wanna play anything else right now. Will probably watch Damiani´s streams on Vod. Maybe see some secrets he sleuthed up.

Gerudo - Zora - Goron - Rito in that order.

Gerudo Divine Beast:
Felt this was the hardest of the dungeons, just this 3D partially turning things 360° made my head hurt. Also that ability you get after beating the divine beast dungeon is op and i love it lol.

Over half a year for the story DLC to come out. Ugh.

10/10.
