Anyone have any impressions of the GPD Win?

Now if no one has heard of this before, it's kind of like a handheld DS that runs Windows 10 with a built in keyboard and xbox 360 buttons.

It's of interest to me as my new job has me travelling a lot and I'm looking for a PC gaming solution on the go that won't have me shilling out for a gaming laptop.

Does anyone here own one of these devices (or similar)?
What are the capabilities of it like? How well does it handle titles?

Smaller scale games typically ok for it (something like Hollow Knight, some Visual Novels, Transistor or Abzu)?
What about AAA? Obviously recent titles will be a no, but some stuff from even a few years ago?

Thanks in advance guys :)

As marche said there's a dedicated thread, other than that there are many videos on youtube, some recent-ish games
overwatch
tomb raider
Skyrim
Diablo 3
Civilization 6
Rocket League

If you are ok with low settings and around 30 fps you can even play not too demanding new AAA games.

Here's a list of games that reddit users tried on GPD Win:

One thing you have to take into account is that it isn't cold as Vita for example, it can get warm, but if you use battery saving settings you get less heat, more battery life and similar performances.

Performances depend on the game obviously, i don't have many games but i would say that ps360 era games in general run well(bioshock demo at high settings!)
In any case if a game doesn't run well you can always lessen the resolution, the difference between 720p and 544p(or 576p or 600p) would unnoticeable if not for 2d elements.

I have posted some screens in the portable screenshot thread.

In my experience, warm was an understatement even after using ThrottleStop and tweaking my BIOS. It was hot to the point of being uncomfortable to play for more than 15-20 minutes at a time. I'm talking playing Breath of the Wild for two hours and switching to handheld mode hot. And this thing doesn't have controllers on the side to rest your hands. You're always touching the hot part.
This is after playing light games like Muv-Luv and Shantae and the Pirate's Curse. Maybe I just got a bad unit, as some in the thread have tried to assure me but I can't not say it each time the GPD Win is brought up. I suspect others just have a higher tolerance for the temperatures of the thing.

On paper, it was my dream device and no one is more upset than me that it didn't quite work out. Build quality is also a bit questionable. My device arrived with a damaged joystick and scratches to the outer shell. There's also hinge wobble.

And if you do order one, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, AVOID GEEKBUYING. Their support is the absolute worst.

Thanks for the impressions, slightly worrying about the heating concerns there though =/

FWIW though, I found GearBest are selling the newer(?) version right now on sale so I may very well pick that up! :D

Anyone here used GearBest?

They seem to be selling this for cheapest currently, but a quick google leaves some rather mixed and worrying responses =/

Problem is (for UK at least) no one who is selling it I've heard of, or seems to be based here >_<
