I didn't get to play around with it much before my gpu died, but I was looking for a moves list on the menu and found none. I guess this is really more on the side of the first NieR than other Platinum Games titles.
Yeah, it definitely surprised (and tbh disappointed) me. It has some minor combos, but based on the gifs I assumed it was going to have Bayonetta-style combat. In some ways it is actually a more limited system than original Nier, but it does feel a bit more fun to play.
Stupid question. How do you know what route you're on? Is finishing the game once route A, finishing twice route B, and so on? I know there are silly routes like route W.

That's how it's been so far for the proper endings. At the end of each route it also mentions which one you've just completed and the save file displays them all as well.
Well, you would only know that it's route A/B/etc specifically once you get the actual ending but it's pretty obvious that something different is going on as soon as you start your second run on the same save.
I don't think there are any actual routes for anything beyond the main endings, though. Like, there's no actual route W. There's just a joke ending that's called ending W.

No. At this point, Koei-Tecmo have tipped my annoyance threshold. Unprecedented levels of annoyance. Not even S-E is that bad.
Do you really deserve to wear that anime avatar if you play Nier in English? 🤔

I'm actually really surprised by the English voice acting actually. It is way better than I thought it would be.

I always play video games with English voice and no subtitles if I can. I like 2Bs "grumpy lady" performance. I haven't really played anything with this voice actress before, surprisingly, and she's been in a lot of stuff.
9S is pretty good, a little goofy at times. One of the operators is the young girl from Xenoblade X, I hear all the time now. I guess there's a lot of work for a grown woman that sounds like a tween.
The English VO is really good.
the game couldnt be any more anime, so japanese of course.
English is pretty great and there is sometimes stuff being said in the middle of fights so might be hard to follow in Japanese
I started in Japanese, switched to English after a while and switched back to Japanese again after another while.
Both are good, though there's something about 2B's english delivery that just feels slightly off to me, though I can't really pinpoint it.

English. But I play most games with their English dubs and generally enjoy them, so your mileage may vary.
Automata's dub isn't as good as the original Nier's dub unfortunately, but its still solid imo.
But all the video games worth streaming take up so much power that streams would just lag unless you have an absolutely super beefy PC.How to get SteamGAF to truly appreciate how good the bundle is

I noticed now that I wrote the opposite. I'm playing in japanese and I'm thinking about english since there was a fight with dialogue and if I was reading I wasn't paying attention to the action

Yea, response time on VA is something to be mindful of. My monitor is pretty good but it has some moments when it's def noticeable.
Having said that, I really like my SMVA 4k panel.

Looks like Obsidian are likely developing additional content for Tyranny. I'm glad it sold well enough for them and Paradox to continue working on the game.
I'm pretty sure that's a feature of Kaldaien's fix, not Nier, lol.
Yeah, same thing happens with his Tales of Zestiria fix. Was super confused the first time it happened lol.
Steam is the place where you can add BOTW as a non-Steam game and then play it at 4k on your PC
