Is there any point to lighting these torches with the blue flame around
akkala
? I'm at the

and not sure what to do.

Having consulted no outside sources, I continue to be floored by how many rewards there are to obtain in this game that I didn't know existed, just like in my first run through The Wind Waker when it came out, when I thought I had everything—hearts, bottles, treasure charts, figurines, you name it—but didn't know about the Hero's Mask or all the alternate charts held at the enemy reefs.

Today, the latest entries in this category were two clothing sets:

-
The Ancient set, which I didn't know about as I never talked to Impa or got the Tech Labs running until after I had cleared all of the Divine Beasts (which, true to the principles of BotW, Impa acknowledges when you talk to her for the first time). The nice thing about being as far in the game as I am is that as soon as I saw the Ancient set, I was able to buy it up with my rupees on hand, and also had all of the materials necessary (minus one Star Fragment, which is easy to get) to upgrade all three pieces to four stars. It was nice to have something to spend money on again, which hadn't been the case since I unlocked the last Great Fairy.

-
The Dark Link set, available from Kilton after finishing all Divine Beasts. Since I haven't scanned any of my Amiibo yet, this was actually my first encounter with the classic tunic design in the game. I had hundreds of Bokoblin/Moblin/Lizalfos parts sitting in my inventory, so it was absolutely no problem to buy up the whole set on the spot, with parts to spare. If you walk around as Dark Link, ordinary citizens react to you with fear, though you can still interact with them as usual.

Yes, though I was stuck on that for ages as well. It's locked behind a quest.
After you leave the Plateau, you have to follow the sequence of talking to Impa and activating the Hateno Tech Lab. Afterwards, a torch slot appears at the Akkala Tech Lab that allows you to light the bulbous furnace just outside the door.

Just had the most intense and exhilarating fight against a Lynel on a cold mountaintop. He was kicking my ass pretty badly, had some moves that I never encountered before and was a tougher version than others I have fought. I pulled through eventually after burning through basically all my potions and abilities, and the finishing move was too good; he was leaping in the air for a ground-pound attack right on me and without knowing how I managed to pull my bow and fire a single arrow in the head to stun him in mid-air. No bullet-time, just a splitsecond reaction shot. A couple of hits with the sword and he was done. So satisfying.

Wait you can
destroy the propelers of
flying guardians
and they will fall to the ground?

Im 110 hours in and im still learning.

Question: I have all of the link/Zelda amiibo and I believe the smash link or the ocarina link are supposed to give you Epona right? Well I did it the other day and Epona dropped in. Cool! Then I climbed a mountain, lost him, and never registered him. Now when I scan the amiibo, Epona doesn't drop..... was that a one time drop? Did I F Up getting Epona? Is he gone forever?

1. Epona is female

2. Just scan the amiibo again. You may have to wait 24 hours like the other amiibo. Register all your horses right away!

Whoops on the gender! Lol.

And yeah, I scanned all my link amiibo today and none of them dropped Epona. And the last time I did it was a few days ago.

It's the Smash Link amiibo for sure, that's the one that spawns her.

I have read a couple times that simply rescanning will spawn Epona. But it may not be guaranteed. I think it's only 100% the first time.

I don't actually have it, so I'm mostly useless to you. I'm sorry I can't confirm more definitely for you.

The flying guardians are actually the lying variant of the sentries in
Hyrule Castle
.

I also think I'm about done playing the game unless there're still must play sidequests.

42 hours in and I've reached Zora's Domain. This place is magical and compounds the steps forward taken by Nintendo with this game.

l'm surprised this isn't talked about more. The art direction in this game is incredible and Zora's Domain is its most triumphant example. First time l reached it l was sort of baffled, it looks like something out of the Silmarillion.

After 95 hours of playing and complaining, I just realized you can, you know...

Sort the inventory.

I am embarrassed.

I wish you could sort it further than what the game does for you. It will sort your food items by type, but it would be nice if you could sort it by healing level. Like I have a few that will recover full health + anywhere from 1 to 17 extra hearts. I would like to sort it so that the one with the least amount of extra hearts is first.

Entering the dungeon in Zora's Domain is one of my high points with the game. They did exactly what I think many were hoping for and they did it real good.

An NPC in Rabia Plains told me about a North Tower north of the Rutala River. Cant find it at all. Any ideas where it is? Is it just the Lanayru tower?

I think most of my problems with the inventory menu would be fixed if the materials section had a "condense/expand" button or folder. It's just not that useful when you're not near a cooking pot and it's a pain to skip over once you're deep into the game

For people having trouble spawning Epona, here's a tip that I've not seen mentioned... do NOT use the Amiibo whilst on the Great Plateau. Because there's no way for a horse to get to or from the Great Plateau, Nintendo have disabled horses from being up there and thus Epona will never spawn from there.

Just entered a dungeon ( my last one btw) with the Master Sword. Let's just say I was surprised.

It's the little things... God I love this game.

Asking this here and really hoping it doesn't get buried - was killed by a surprise Keese in the Gerudo area a few hours ago, fell to my death. When I cam back, all of Link's sound effects had a very prominent echo applied to them, as if he were very in a giant cave. His footsteps, his voice, sword swings, everything. But not any body else's sounds, or the music or anything.

I attributed it "we ARE in a valley, maybe the sounds were always there and I didnt know it?

But now I've left the valley, and am in the middle of an open field, and the sound effects are still there. How can I make this go away? I've tried restarting my Wii U. I don't have any previous saves to go back too. I don't want to go through the rest of this game with everything sounding echoey, it's annoying as fuck. I don't suppose Nintendo has a bug reporting thing, do they?

Koko from Kakiriko:

Early mornings if sunny:
She's at the cemetery crying. Let's you know that her mom is dead and that her dad is lying about it. Her little brother Cotta is none the wiser.

Early mornings if rainy:
She's also at the cemetary crying, but this time she let's you know that she doesn't mind the rain any more because it's a veil and her mom can't see her crying.

Cooking:
Once again it's all about her mom. She's super eager to recreate her recipe's. She also seems to be super tough on herself. When she is missing a piece of the recipe she kicks herself down and sees herself as a failure. One who can never live up to her mother who she clearly loved very much. It's pretty rough because you can tell she tries to overtake the role of the mother now that she is no longer alive. You can even see this at nighttime shortly after 7PM. She's at home but she doesn't want to fall asleep before daddy gets home. Probably something that she saw from her mom. The husband and wife dynamic where she probably would wait and greet her husband after coming home from work. Something Koko wants to do too. However by 8 or 9 PM she passes out before her father comes home. But it's still on her mind as she is sleeping. Back to the cooking. The last recipe being a dessert that her mother made. But after this she seems to find a new purpose in her life. To become a chef to make people happy. No longer to mimic her mother and trying to fill her role. Now she is ready to simply play her own role in the future.

I love this character's character ark.

They're really cool! I get excited whenever I begin to faintly hear the music. :)

This dude is always in the most remote places in the world. But yeah I love when you start hearing his tune faintly. I get excited and start looking for him.

One of my favorite storylines in the game. Its sadder when you find out how the mom died. It ends very bittersweet and I felt great that I was able to do something for the family, however little.

When you get home from work and get ready to play some Zelda.

It's like Alcamoth from Xenoblade.

Got my paraglider and went out into the land of Hyrule yesterday. God damn. Just got to Kakariko Village, can't wait to get back home and keep playing.

I am in love with this game and I can't stop thinking about it. One thing that kind of nags me though, if I just can't help having the feeling that I'm missing shit. For instance, I know early on you can do a mission for
the old man for a heat cloth.
I completely missed that. Is it just....gone?

Also, is the only way of getting vack to the starting plateau through fast travel? I feel like I'll wanna go back there.

And Ric why you so damn worried you don't even know me chill.

You have an adventure log. Nothing is gone, nothing can be missed as far as I know.

No, you can get it another way. You'll probably run into it somewhere along the main quest line.

As far as I know, nothing is missable in this game.

Fucking rad. I mean I assume it won't be in the way of that mission because of story elements that happened....but I'm guessing your just saying I can get the item anoher way regardless?

Yes, you can find it at
one of the villages' clothing shops. I'm pretty sure it's Hateno Village.

I think I already did. Like 100 hours ago though lol. Does this mean I already had this conversation but forgot about it? Or can I trigger some dialogue any time after opening that shrine.

Did you complete the shrine quest with the orb in Impas house? If you did try to remember what happened :)

Oh no. I have not. The orb is still next to her. I thought we were referring to the shrine that is on the way to the
Great Fairy
.

OK great. I look forward to that. Not sure how to trigger it. I'm guessing it might have something to do with the
memories. I have 3 ones left on my camera.

Sweet. Just
hang around Kakariko at night and talk to people.

Question about a sidequest in the desert:

I got the snow bots in order to find the 'eight warrior' in the snow mountains - but before I have to find someone in the village that has more information on that. And honsestly, I think I've talked to all the people there twice and didn't find anyone. Any hint?

You have to feed the sand seal from the gerudo princess. 'Beatrice' the oracle. It's located on the left side of the palace. Don't forget to take a picture of her as well.

Still haven't opened my BotW Master Edition yet. I'm scared of opening it and finding out the Master Sword statue is broken. I wouldn't know what to do.

Yeah I'm that kind of person unfortunately.

Almost a week after "finishing" this game I'm still thinking about it constantly, so I decided to go back and try to clear all shrines. Did all the shrine quests I had remaining on my quest log and re-checked any suspicious places I remember not finishing up at. Still only have 102 shrines and I've already been all over the world. Don't even know where to start looking.

Guess it's time to turn on the shrine sensor and wander aimlessly.
