I also realised you can return for the Rusty Sword by the Temple of Time that was most people's first weapon, and get a Rock Octorok to neaten it up.

Yea, I don't think there's a single weapon in the game without a constant respawn point. I don't think there's any situation that requires RNG enemy weapon spawns to get, that would get much harder the longer the game went on (due to enemy scaling). It's just a matter of knowing where to find it.

at Rito now and I'm supposed to find the person who
went off to the flight range
which I reached
but he's nowhere to be seen! I've dived under the
flight range and shot all the targets
but nothing happen, can someone give me a hint?
just a yes and no in terms of if he's INSIDE
flight range
will do

I'm adoring the game, but I don't get how people can have 75+ hours into the game with relatively few shrines and divine beasts. Are they just walking around doing nothing? Focusing on korok seeds? I've spent a good 30+ hours but I'm always sure to have some sort of objective and momentum to carry me through the game. I've done 2 beasts, 70 shrines, almost done with the photo memories, just a couple towers left to climb, tons of sidequests, got the master sword, etc. Feels like I'm burning through the game too quickly when people talk about spending so much time without any significant plot progress (then again I have to, hope to have this finished by the time Persona 5 comes out :P)

And I do take my time; walk or ride my horse to most places, take in the vistas, talk to people to see alternate dialog (one of my favorite things in the game is how context-aware so much of the dialog with NPCs is), not used guides for anything other than a couple puzzles... I guess it's just my playstyle that demands I have some objective to keep me entertained through the game. I kind of see it as a TV show with "arcs" so I always am going towards some objective, be it a divine beast, doing what you do at the springs of ____, etc.

He only asks for 4 things. Traveller's Sword, Fire Rod, Moblin Club, Guardian Axe+. Fire Rod drops from Wizzrobes, Moblin Club from the Moblins near the Plateau which don't upgrade, Guardian Axe+ from a Modest Test of Strength. Not sure what to find the Traveller's Sword late-game, admittedly.

After those he asks for a Frostspear and Ancient Sword.

Looks like I have one side quest left on my list to finish.

And it's a struggle because I can't find a damn Moblin Club. The worst I get from a Moblin at this point is a Spiked version. Even the sensor+ does not help. Thanks kiddo.

I found one right outside the stable closest (NW) of the great plateau on the southern road. Not sure if random though.

Oh ffs

I was up to my eyeballs in Frostspears like 20 hours ago and was throwing them away as trash weapons. Haven't seen one in a good while though. I think there's a respawning one in Hyrule Castle, but that's a stupid hike to do for like 20 rupees for a dumb, tedious side quest.

They're also a reward in one of the Blessing shrines, but I can't remember which...

I'm at 119 shrines and I can't figure out the last one.

I've already found the forgotten temple

I even tried cross referencing a list of shrines. Any one have any they got stuck on with one to go?

Got the one in Hyrule Castle? That one seems easily missable since who would think there'd be a shrine in the final dungeon

Just completed some shrines (Trial of Power and Wind Guide) that offer expansive content and puzzle variety. Such a pleasant surprise!

Almost done with the sidequests too, just the Zora stone tablets and the final quest to get
The Wild Armor Set.

Which means its time to hunt down the shrines haha.

I've put in 50 hours. 65ish shrines, no divine beasts, all towers climbed, finished photo memories, got Master Sword, and I've done a smattering of side quests. I'm surprised you're finding so many shrines so fast, I've been having trouble finding them since I hit about 40 of them. I am actively avoiding story missions, but feel there's always something to do.

Omg. I need a hint on defeating Guardians. I have purposely not looked it up in hopes an NPC would tell me or hint to me, but I've come across no such thing. Can someone offer me a hint without telling me outright?

Here's what I've tried:

1. The Ancient Arrow shooting them in the eye. This works, but I only have one of them.

2. Reflecting with a shield, but it bounces off in a different direction

3. Straight up going after them and trying to just pound 'em. I die every time.

I'm at about twice that amount of time with half the shrines, one beast, 50 seeds, and only three memories. I just head for a spot on the map I don't think I've seen before and see where it takes me. Sometimes I spent an hour gathering ingredients and making food. I never walk very far without finding something to do or having something catch my eye.

you can
deflect the shots right back at them if you time it correctly. this works with every shield

some weapons tear through
the legs of the guardians pretty easily, stunning them. .

not sure how spoilerish this is, but it's kinda hard to convey this without telling you outright honestly

1) Practice #2 more. If you time it right, you can deflect it right back at them.

2) Go to the
Lost Woods
. You'll find something there that will make you VERY happy :D (at least until you realize you gotta do something before you can actually get it.)

Have you upgraded your slate?

Have you tried to sneak up on them?

Have you given any thought to restricting their movement?

Arrow stun their eye. Hack a leg off. When they get up, arrow their eye to temp stun them again. Hack another leg off. Arrow to the eye when they get up. Leg off. Keep going until they're dead from being perma-stunned. Or until they run out of legs, in which case good luck.

Hitting Blue Chu Chu's with the Blizzard Rod turns them into White Chu Chu's. OMG! No more running around in the snow trying to find those suckers!

you can also toss regular drops into ice water or hit them with ice and they will also turn.

improve your timing, if it bounces in a different direction, youre not actually parrying it.
3.
go for their legs to stun them

So I uh...found a Moblin Club in a bit different way (it's on a Bokoblin camp without any Moblins, dunno why). Now the 4th item seems different from what you guys mentioned. Mine is a Duplex Bow, dunno why. I just got to pray that those Yiga boys appear to nab those bows.

It's hard to say it cryptic, so |I'll just spoiler tag them anyway.
Perfect Parrying a laser will return it back at them. Just be stationary so that they'll also not move. Or throw a bomb at their feet so they they'll momentarily lose balance then go for the damage

I started noticing some cool variations in strength tests, that obviously were never pointed out by those who complained about them. Nothing too major but still.

On the other hand to be fair I found a bit disappointing that already two subquests related shrines were strength tests. I mean all they had to do was to swap the location of this shrine with another one.

Thanks for the Guardian tips, guys! Looks like I'm on the right track. I thought there would be a more spoilerish way to defeat them but I guess not, haha.

I'm going to try to use the shield reflect move that I always forget about, haha. But the important thing here is that I learned you can upgrade the
Sheikah Slate
whhhaaaaaaaat

For those who have completed the Divine Beasts and received the champion powers associated with them, I have a question for you.

When you replay the game, what order will you complete them?

I don't think I could live without Revali's Gale now that I'm accustomed to it. I would definitely do Rito first.

Tests of Strength's are too easy. The only reason I wouldn't want to do them is breaking my weapons and even then, I just use my Ancient weapons since I'll get a new one anyway.

I rarely lose a heart and if I do, I was probably just goofing around

Had the same problem: I stole one from an enemy in the
Colosseum
A lot of enemies tend to have elementary weapons in there sometimes.

Tests of Strength are combat tutorials, basically. They teach you a variety of combat maneuvers you must master to defeat them. It's so easy to flurry rush every single one of their attacks, but that's only because you learned to do that. You learn how to use an updraft as a method of approach, you learn how to stagger an enemy with a well-placed arrow, you learn the value of dodging left or right versus back flipping, they teach you how to fight against the three weapon types and how to fight an enemy with a shield, etc.

Once you've mastered the test, it's easy to defeat them without taking any damage. But that's kind of the point, I think. It's a test of your combat skills on a purely mechanical level.

I went in: Zora, Goron, Rito then Gerudo.

I would probably do: Rito, Gerudo (thunder helm), zora and then Goron.

Each to their own, everyone is entitled to play how they wish, but it amazes me the people saying they completed the game with maybe 40ish shrines, a few dozen Koroks and whole areas of the map unexplored.

Did you not want to experience the game to its fullest? Did you not want to enjoy a larger variety of Shrine puzzles? Did you actively avoid Koroks? Didn't those unexplored areas, with their characters and side quests and locations, intrigue you enough to at least make a fleeting visit?

I've completed one dungeon and around 50 shrines, found almost 100 Koroks and I've got four areas to visit. I don't intend on taking on Ganon until I've completed a minimum of 100 (but ideally all 120) shrines and all four dungeons, found between 300-450 Koroks and visited every area and uncovered the entire map.

Think I'm finally going to beat it today. 120 shrines, all fairy fountains, a share of maxed gear. How's the
of the Wild
set, when maxed, compare to say the Champion's tunic, and also what are the best maxed out trousers? I have the Hylian trousers pretty high up, like level 3 I think but just curious.

I took my time and did all the shrines, but to be perfectly fair it's so huge and the number of things to do are astronomically overwhelming. And there are other games to play, in fact this year so far is just loaded.

I think one of the NPCs or loading screens mention that
since Guardians are ancient enemies, other ancient weapons are most effective against them.
You learn how to use an updraft as a method of approach
Shit, I didn't even think of that. I
floated bombs along the updraft
every time those guys did that.

It's not just that they're too easy, it's that there's no variation in them. It's always one mini guardian with the same phases that it goes through. Why aren't there Tests of Strength with multiple guardians, for testing the player on handling multiple powerful threats? What about fights that are entirely done at range, like with a big impassable pit between you and your enemy? How about just coming up with new phases so not every fight is broken down into "normal attacks + spin attack > spinning laser > big laser"?

Really only the Major Tests have any degree of variation, and the only thing that changes between some of them are needing to use slate powers to make columns.

why? how is 27 hearts not enough? People beat the game with 3.

It's more about the sense of completion than having enough.

Where the game is so big (needlessly so IMO) you're going to find repetition, unfortunately. It's just a byproduct of satisfying open world junkies with the biggest possible world they could create. It's improbable to get something that big where everything feels like it has enough variation to it. You subject players to the same things over and over and despite how good they may be, the been there done that feeling comes into the light. However it's certainly better than most, if not all. I would've maybe had some Lynels in some of those shrines.

Moderate and major test of strengths are quite hard at the beginning. But they could still be a cakewalk for people really skilled at action combat games.

There are many difficulty complaints and that can be applied to how the game is designed as a whole. I think they just didn't feel comfortable pushing difficulty that far with how this game is designed.

but if you add DLC and that changes it, it only moves the goalposts. It doesn't give more completion.

Game is largely about freedom so players can choose what to do. I wanted two full heart bars, so in my head started doing some math to decide how much more I was going to put into stamina before completing my hearts. Right now I have two heart rows and two stamina circles with 8 spirit orbs still to spend, and I don't mind considering two more stamina upgrades as "bonuses."

People simply want the DLC to allow them to at least finish that second row of hearts, from what I gather.

Major test of strength is literally impossible if you haven't picked up some decent weapons yet, I went out to the one in the sea quite early on and I barely scratched its hp

People beat everything in the game with three hearts and no armor on so... It's not literally impossible, you just can't get hit and it takes a long time.

Not literally impossible, but the first one I ran into was so overwhelming I was like nope fuck that but I'll be back for you in about 90 hours lol. I'd imagine most people feel that way too. But after a while they're cake, and it would've been awesome to get a handful of tough challenge shrines. Like say once you complete 110-115 of them, it unlocks the last few which change up the look of the shrines and have some of the hardest puzzles and fights.

I think things like that would have added some variation and a bit of surprise.

That's a good point. For me it's a game to last me for weeks and possibly months, but for others ours the first of a list of titles to check out.

Most of the time the weapons you get from the guardian are stronger than the ones you used to destroy it though.

Is it not possible to simply exhaust your set of weaponry/shields due to durability and be SOL due to it having so much HP? I nope'd pretty quick out of there after I noticed I barely dented the thing.

I suppose you could bomb it to death or something.
