None of them were really professional trained actors so that probably played a part. Many of them also struck me as not being interested in doing much acting after Power Rangers anyway.

On the post PR career tip. Another thing folks have to realize is that in Hollywood (and I mean specifically LA) escaping type casting is incredibly difficult. And I mean there weren't a lot of shows like PR at the time. Compound that it was a non-union show: getting your first union gig is infinitely more important than any number of non union shows. They were really not in a position to make a real acting career out of this despite its immense popularity. If anything it hurt it.
 
Alright everyone it's been tons of fun. Really gotta thank everyone who participated in the marathon. PR's been my favorite show since I was watching Zeo when I was three or four so to see the show get so much recognition, even past MMPR, on GAF made these last two weeks spectacular. I'm glad everyone was able to have a good time and expand their PR knowledge or even just refresh it. We'll have to figure out how to do this again in the future. Anywho, night everyone and enjoy the rest of the marathon!
 
Got around to (re)watching the Time Force finale on Netflix since I had to miss it (well the last episode at least, but I watched all 3 parts lol) when it was airing on Twitch.

Damn, they did a great job with this finale. One thing I really liked even back when I was a kid was that the rangers don't actually defeat Ransik in the end. His actions end up hurting his own daughter and he realizes the error of his ways. That's something that was kind of unheard of for me waaay back then and it's still pretty cool now. I got major feels when the future rangers had to say goodbye to Wes. I'm still majorly annoyed that Jen straight up says she loves him, but they don't even kiss. LIKE COME ONNNNNN

In the end, rewatching it on Twitch, Time Force is still my favorite season. It has this dark setting for a kids show yet it also knows when to have a lot of fun and make you laugh (see: the amazing movie episode). Wes is probably still my favorite Red ranger; his character development is great and he has a lot of cool moments like when he tries to save his friends by returning them to the future. Of course, the rest of the cast is great. Jen is best pink ranger as well, I love Eric and how he acts as an effective foil to Wes, Trip, Katie and Lucas...well, Lucas has some bad acting issues, but hey, the episode where he's forced to date Nadira is still GOLDEN. And it has a hella catchy theme too. TIME TIME TIME TIME FOR POWER RANGERS TIME FORCE TIME FORCE

That being said...I'm gonna start watching RPM sometime tomorrow on Netflix. I saw the first 9 or so episodes on Twitch, but I definitely wanna see the rest. Is there a Power Rangers OT or community thread? I might post my impressions some time, but if not, it's been a blast watching Power Rangers with everyone here.!

Dropping out as well. What a great idea the stream was, and what a fun time was had. The movie and stream really reinvigorated my love for PR! I forgot just how enjoyable it could be, and even better with the continuous meme machine that is Twitch chat. Hope something like this happens again soon. If you're sticking around, have fun!

Fun stream. As someone who was into MMPR as a youth and checked out with Space, catching some of the middle era shows was a revelation.
 
I'm so happy I had the chance to watch the series with you all. I grew up with Ninja Storm, Dino Thunder, and SPD rather than the original seasons. The characters, costumes, and megazords define what Power Rangers is to me. It's good to know that my fondness for these seasons was not just nostalgia, and that they were still mostly enjoyable to watch.

What made it better was that I could enjoy it all over again with you guys. I would love to rewatch the series again sometime with you all.

It was way too funny not to do it.

Yeah, I scoffed at the idea of a Power Rangers marathon and came into this way too late.
I hadn't seen this series since Turbo when I was like 10 or 11.
Turns out absolutely ANYTHING can be hilarious when given the group-chat MST3K treatment.

Shame I missed RPM. That seemed to be a weird surprise from everyone's reactions.
Also kind of sad I missed Overdrive from everyone seeming to constantly call them the most incompetent team ever.
 
This has been a fun couple of weeks. Posted to GAF for the first time in years for this marathon.

The chat and the thread made this fun. As a Ranger fan from day one, it was a real blast.
 
Now its over what to watch?

Me personally. There is an episode of Stargate Atlantis where Kiera (Dino Thunder yellow ranger) plays a terminator and has to fight Jason Momoa (Aquaman/KhalDrogo) I'll probably watch that.
 
the last thing I need from this marathon is a link to clip of the guy running into the pole during the daddy's little girl episode in Time Force
 
Watching the in Space series was a blast with everyone. The best hightlights are still Zhane ditching the rangers to smashed Astronema,Andros being salty as fuck regarding Ashley and Astronema herself.

So what are these Revisin episodes? Did they air this way at some point?

Also. I loved this marathon. I love when Twitch does stuff like this. I hope they do this again soon. :)
