Nintendo switch brilliant ad in magazine

Man do we really need a post dedicated to adds?

Are adds not in your face enough already? Do you, work for Nintendo?

Well we have individual threads for commercials, I don't think this is much different. Having said that, these particular ads don't seem really notable to me or amazing. Pretty standard magazine fair. I thought it was going to be something crazy like a pop-up book.

I await the inevitable Nintendo switch steering wheel attachment like this

Yeah, play games in the car, sound advice.

The other day I had a friend go "can you play Zelda so I can watch while driving". I was like no thats not happening lol focus on the road.

Shit's pretty bog standard in terms of magazine adverts. The text isn't that clever, and the images are alright. They get the job done, but I really don't see the brilliance in either the wordplay or imagery.

I was browsing online and couldn't help but notice this brilliant Tide™ ad.

Tide™ really found a smart way to show they have more cleaning ingredients then other brands.

Other brands are 15% while Tide™ is 90% cleaning ingredients.

Tide fanboy alert

Because I was expecting "brilliant" ads. Or at least something that isn't just normal or at least something that I never seen before in an ad.

I admit i don't find it brilliant.
But i don't bitch about the existence of this thread. The op like it more than me, so what!

I like the intent of these ads but they'd work a lot better if they also included a picture of people playing at home, in a car and at the park, ya know?

*the camera pulls back and shows OP sitting at a desk inside a bland cubicle farm, behind him a middle aged woman stands with a skeptical look on her face*

See boss, I'm not browsing this website for kicks, I'm advertising our brand.

*she thinks for a moment before curtly nodding*

Carry on then Nowise, but we'll be watching you.

I really like the Zelda/Switch ad that's on TV. It's almost shocking to see such a good ad for a Nintendo product.

I think that "Wii Would Like To Play" series of ads for certain first party titles on Wii were good. The Wii U ads were pretty bad, especially early like the one close to Wii U's launch with the cube rooms and really annoying dubstep/electronic music with the tag line "How U Will Play Next" or something like that. 3DS ads were very mixed too.

I still remember the early DS ads like with the finger and Kirby for Canvas Curse with the tag line "Touching Is Good."

Brilliant? Can't really say it is. It works perfectly for what it is but doesn't really go beyond that.

This was a brilliant magazine ad back in the day

Those pages were stuck together You immediately noticed that 2 pages were stuck together when flipping through the magazine and that the only way to open them was to rip it apart. Slowly pulling you can hear the ripping only to be greeted by

The pages were stuck together at the neck.

This should be locked solely based on the quality of replies. Feels like I've ventured into the comment section of a Digital Foundry YouTube video.

What i found interesting in these ads is how different nintendo is talking about the switch compared to the wii u

Maybe these ads are not brilliant (i hope those who got angry are happy now)

But together they are explaining the switch and what it can do better than what nintendo failed to do with the wii u.

It was hard to convince people to buy the wii u, the second screen failed to attract consumers.

I already saw 2 people playing zelda in new york subway, more parents would probably buy the switch so their kids are able to go to family gatherings and picnics and still bring their switch with them.

Has anyone played a Switch in the park yet? I used to play Hearthstone on my phone in the park on my lunch break and the glare made it difficult on sunny days.

Please do not start a detergent war in this thread. Is it E3 already?

I think this was worthy of it's own thread! ;)
