This may seem like a stupid question, but when you buy a phone unlocked that means you can hook it up to any service, right? I do prepaid Total Wireless, so if I get this, I should get Unlocked and should be able to transfer my plan and number over, right?

Wait the S8 bigger than an iphone 7+ ?
No

You should be able to just take your prepaid Total Wireless Sim card out of the old phone and put it in the unlocked S8

Curious to see if the iPhone edition, which supposedly is also losing the button and bezels will look any similar to GS8 and LG G6.

I'm not really into high end phones, but this seems like the obvious, and right direction to go.

One thing I thought was really interesting from the video was using it as a desk top machine(there was a mouse and keyboard). How good is the internal hardware in that sense? Could it run Windows 10 outputting to say a 1080p panel with a not intensive workload? Internet browsing, media streaming and management, basic office stuff etc.

Can't see how it wouldn't be up to the task. Thing is pushing 1440p all day. I'm sure it would do just fine for basic tasks/media consumption at 1080p.

Cool, thanks. I've had the same phone for so long I really don't know a lot about how it works.
If you're using a much older phone you might also have to ask Total Wireless for a new small Sim card (nano-sim) that fits in the newer phones
Screen size yes, physical dimensions no (aside from a bit of thickness).

S8 is 68.1x148.9x8.0mm (http://www.samsung.com/global/galaxy/galaxy-s8/specs/)
7+ is 77.9x158.2x7.3mm (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IPhone_7)

I don't care for resolution much, but would it be better to go with this or the One Plus 3T? The One Plus has 2gig more of RAM I saw, but would like opinions.

EDIT: Saw that the One Plus 4/5 might be hitting soon too?

From an absolute standpoint the S8 much better of course but if you factor things like bang for your buck then you might want to get the 3T.

I've always been against big phones but I'm very tempted by the S8+. A lot of videos I've watched say it's very easy to hold in comparison to other phablets.

Doing a decent job of pre-empting the curved 10th Anniversary iPhone.

Also doesn't Dell already use the term Infinity display?

Will the iPhone 8 look just like this? It seems Samsung just beat Apple to the punch here.

pretty much. there is only so much difference in visual with the same core technology.

Nah.

Latest rumours from the usually reliable analysts, there won't be a curved iPhone. They'll stick with the 2.5 glass - thankfully!!

Roll out on September.

....Bixby. Because what the world needs is another proprietary virtual assistant.

Other than that, decent upgrade...although I think this unveil has made me settle on the G6.

Pre ordered the S8 Plus on Vodafone uk as im due my upgrade as of today , Paid £50 upfront for the phone then £44 a month with a discount applied so it should of been £52 a month. Unlimited texts and minutes plus 6GB of data and delivered on the 20th April , Pretty happy with that.

If all DLC came tied to $13 figurines, I'd consider all DLC to be free
What a phone...im in for a new contract soon - def. getting this one.

awww so cute. You dug deep, bruh

I'm kind of flattered.

Nice deflection.

For the record, it was the top result when I searched your name and "courage."

Just figured since you got so butthurt about tired jokes related to an electronics brand, there would be no way you've ever stooped so low.

It's cool though. We can't all have integrity.

I was hoping for more VR friendly upgrade (4K screen and native inside out tracking hardware)... the iris scanner is the only feature that looks like a worthwhile upgrade over my S7

It seems you got just as butthurt that you had to search through my post history.

But, it's cool! As you said, we can't all have integrity!

For the record, when I posted that, the joke was fresh. Not 7 months old.

double tap to wake im sure it has it

always on screen: yes
wireless charging: since galaxy s5 lol... i think s4 had it too with an extra back cover

I read that it doesn't officially support double-tap to wake but when you long press where the home key is suppose to be it will wake the phone.

wow a pretty sexy phone. And just watched some DeX Videos and man thats looks like a good android version for a big screen. I have to say i am very impressed.

I just got the LG G6 and I'm pretty impressed so far. Coming from a S6Edge, I was pretty burned out on curved edges and accidentally triggering things on the screen.

That said, I'm keeping my eye on the S8 as more impressions come out.

I'm glad they didn't increase the width any further, should still be good for one hand usage.

Those bundled earphones are too expensive, i would rather get those £5 earphones and get the phone a bit cheaper.

iPhone 8 is rumoured to have a 5.8" screen size so wondering on the proportions now.

The S8 does look tempting as my first Samsung S phone.

Seems the camera is better on the iPhone from the Casey Neistat video.

Not sure if posted, Casey Neistat has an S8+ in his studio.

https://youtu.be/n0makpckS8c

Confirms edges aren't as edgey as S7.

IPhone 7+ looks laughable next to the S8+. So much more screen for the same size phone.

Yeah display wise Galaxy is way better. But the camera quality, at least in his video, is better on the iPhone 7 imo. For the rear-facing its a bit harder to tell but the front-facing seems noticably better on the iPhone.

I was eating lunch at the Chelsea Market in NYC when some dude just rolls in with an S8+ lamenting over the fact that he cracked the screen. But man it is a sexy phone. I just got an LG V20 and yet I want the S8+ 😭😭😭

Will pick this up (and switch to T-Mobile) once T-Mobile offers a Buy 1 Get 1 Free deal for the S8.

They did it for the S7. Not sure why they aren't doing it for this one. Especially since AT&T is.
