If that is indeed the case that Forza X image may indeed be true

Oh dear, ...

My KS8000 has a 4k YouTube app, so as long as they upload it in 4k it will be great. They should have an event at the movies like PlayStation for those without a 4KTV.

The A50s are sooo much more comfortable than the 420s and the sound quality is better. 420s have better voice chat though. I returned the 420s to get the A50 and I have that hooked up to the TV via optical and to the XBOX via USB so I use it for both wireless TV watching at night and gaming.

Oh I definitely believe they are more comfortable. By the way, you don't have any odd issues where your voice becomes robotic sounding? I read a few comments from people about that. Maybe I'll get it in the future. Just can't do it now.

Oh dear, ...

Where's this from?

By the way is that MS event next week or later in April?

.

Yes, I get Predator voice once in a while. Flick the headset on/off and it's back to normal. I think it may be wireless interference.

I'm hoping that Digital Foundry do have the exclusive so I can download the 4K HDR captures. Sony updated the PS4 Pro media player recently so I will watch the Scorpio reveal on that!

How a console 4.5X times more powerful than the previous hardware can be considered in the same family ?

This looks like a Next Gen XBox if you ask me, and its graphics will make X1 looking like crap in comparison. Also, after 4 years, you might expect a next gen Console, like 360 after XBox. Ok 360 was much more powerful then the original XBox, but Scorpio too will make X1 looking very sad and last gen graphics.

And too bad for MS, PS5 will blow Scorpio away.

No scorpio exclusives though, at least for a long while, so that will seriously hamper it's ability too really distance itself from the xbone in terms of graphics.

Maybe they could have announced something like this away from April fools? Just so it wouldn't confuse people?

I'm not saying that I'm confused,, but...clearly there's skepticism

If it has the same CPU and similar system RAM, it's definitely in the same family. It's analogous to me switching my GTX 760 for a 1070

He is saying MS will use RDR2 as a showcase for Scropio on E3, since sony has full marketing rights how are they gonna accomplish that without being able to show any footage of the game during their E3 press conference?

They can show it at E3 behind closed doors, but I doubt they can show it on stage due to the marketing rights. When I use to go to E3 and had access to private meetings, I was able to see stuff that were marketed by the other side behind closed doors. My memory is a bit fuzzy if Sony had "on the show floor" games that had MS exclusive. I think the big thing is them not being able to show it at a presentation like the E3 pressers.

Where's this from?

By the way is that MS event next week or later in April?

a. I don't remember. Either a Windows 10 event or GDC or //Build one or two years ago.

b. Next week or later reveal will be based on Eurogamer article(s)/interview(s) if I understood it correctly. I don't know dates.

But Scorpio 2 will blow ps5 away

I'll never understand this. Do people not understand how scaling works? Go open dragon age: inquisition on PC and turn all the graphical settings down to minimum. It looks like something that would've came out on ps1. Look at the difference in Gears of War 4 from low to ultra. Completely different. Development technology these days is all about scalability. Companies want games that'll work on whatever device you're playing on.

Obvious April fools is obvious. C'mon guys.

and before you go "But jez tweeted that it wasn't april fools!" why would you believe that?

April Fool's are supposed to be funny/creative, not the equivalent of saying something that's untrue then shouting "psych!". Either Corden is telling the truth or he has the sense of humour of an 8 year old.

Exactly just seeing Forza Horizon 3 and Gears 4 on Scorpio with 4k and ultra settings will make the games looks ahead of anything before and those are already released games!

Red Dead 2 in 4K will be impressive. Depends on how they handle it, but with extra memory they should do fine.

I can see Phil Spencer introducing RDR2 in 4K now. "Ladies and gentlemen get ready to cream your jeans! Red dead redemption in native 4K!!!"

*audience goes crazy.

The one thing that I think many are over looking is this...

In a setting like E3 where games are shown on a big screen and the majority of viewers that are not in the arena are watching it on a stream and/or on TV if MS uses Spike again, how are they going to convey/show the advantages to the majority of people watching?

This is where Sony royally fucked up with trying to focus on HDR that the majority of people could not tell because HDR is something you have to see in front of your face and you don't get the impact of HDR on a stream or a youtube video etc.

That is what is going to be a challenge. On a stream of a live broadcast, it will be hard discern the advantages. Those attending the actual briefing will most like be able to tell even more so if after the presser they have a place set up with 4k sets that people can stand in front of and be blown away.

What MS needs to do however is have direct feed 4k you tube videos available shortly after the show. They can say, "For those watching at home, you can download the 4k direct feed videos so you can play them on your 4k sets to see the advantages of Scorpio". They will also need to provide 4k -to- 1080p downsampled videos as well so people that don't have 4k sets could see what their games will look like on a 1080p set.

It is going to be a challenge to convey all this stuff, but it can be done and I hope they put a lot of thought into this. I also think, like I suggested over 4 months ago, they should provide Digital Foundry the assets so they can do analysis on them since so many people will want to know hard facts about what is being shown. They can NDA DF up the rectum and give them the assets early so the analysis is ready the day of E3 or shortly after.

and PS6 will blow Scorpio 2 away and Scorpio 3 will blow PS6 away and PS7 will blow Scorpio 3 away and then comes the realization that my argument will boil down to an eternal pissing contest

Yet fanboys will continue to trumpet it as some mic drop moment. It's pathetic. Cretins.

It's gonna be fun to see the ps4 pro upscaled 4k vs scorpio native 4k video comparisons. There will be hardly any difference between the 2 but Sony PS4 pro version will have better smoother framerates.

I really don't expect this. I think the extra memory Scorpio will have will give it a lot more advantages that I think some are not considering. Being able to have 4k assets versus 1080p assets scaled to 4k will make things different. Since we don't know the CPU as of yet, that could potential be another thing that can help.

But where is all this X talk coming from now?

Lights dim...

2 very aggressive barks..

Phil Spencer walks out on stage with DMX!

Arf arf
Yeah, yeah, yeah (Grrrr)
Uh, Yeah don't get it twisted
This console shit, is mine
Motherfucker, it's not, a fucking, game
Fuck what you played
It's what you playin'
It's what you playin'
It's what you playin'
It's what you playin'

X gonna give it to ya!

Presentation ends with Party up!

Xbox one X? Im hearing is official name?

Keep it scorpio!
Not feeling the name (hope it's not true). I honestly think, despite whatever Spencer says, that the best bet for Microsoft for this thing to succeed is brand is as a new console generation and cash on that. This way they could distance themselves from Xbox One launch stigma altogether and start anew. I know it's not quite new generation update, but that's why you have marketing department ;)

I took the April month's survey for Xbox Rewards and noticed this entry on the question about how interested you are in these Xbox Play Anywhere titles.

Killer Instinct 3 (coming soon)

What is this referring to? KI is already available and already Play Anywhere.

Because they said so? Its still gonna be a Xbox One. There are no exclusives for it. It runs all Xbox One games and controllers etc.

That doesn't mean much in today's games industry imo. New games are new games, and there was already so much untapped visual potential on current gen games as is if only the base PS4 and Xbox One were capable.

And it still supporting the xbox one controller is kind of irrelevant. That doesn't mean it's not a new system. It just makes sense to keep supporting an already good controller. Newer gen consoles and new controllers were never a must for a new gen console.

It's not a next gen Xbox. It's a super powerful Xbox One.

The Sega Genesis got the 32X upgrade, and while it failed badly, and although the hardware was rarely used to make a huge difference, the hardware was many times more powerful than the base Genesis. And yet, 32X wasn't a whole new generation. That did not happen until Saturn, PlayStation (and eventually Nintendo 64) arrived.

Scorpio is not going to be a 9th generation console, which only happens when PS5 and the equivalent Xbox arrives, probably in 2020.

killer instinct 3? that doesn't make any sense Microsoft has always referred to it as a reboot, and it couldn't be a sequel because that would be 2 unless this is a mistake. I fully expect a Killer instinct sequel to be announce this e3 or next e3, but to let it slip in a survey is weird.

Only one more letter needed: Xbox "Beast" One X, or XBOX for short. Seriously, I'm far from convinced anyone in branding would think tacking another X on the name is a great idea. Sticking with the Scorpio branding might happen after all, as it's much easier to keep a codename if it's qualified by an existing brand, as with Xbox One Scorpio.

lol why?

This wont be a disaster Event like the Sony PS4 Pro thing IMO.

A seperate Event is better than shoving all the details around Scorpio into the E3 Briefing

Exactly. I think a pre-E3 event will be to reveal all the specs, some games and perhaps even some in-depth tech talk and demo's of what it can do. Release date, price and the system itself will be saved for E3 to be shown as a 10-15min portion of the E3 presser. The pre-event will be imho something like a 1 hour event since I feel they will want to really dig into the specs and what it all means with examples of demos/games.
