Boy oh boy please make it happen, Platinum!

I live for the day I'll be playing Bayo in 4K, CEMU is almost making this a reality, but I'll go with Steam if it comes first!

the framerate :( I played bayo on ps3 so much, it's going to be a completely different game with stable framerate lol

I'll buy it just to support more Sega games on Steam. I was pretty satisfied with the WiiU version, but I love cataloging my games on PC.

Hope to god eventually Vanquish makes it too!

I think vanquish lacked content compared to Bayo 1 so releasing Bayo 1 first is a good choice, I love both games but Vanquish is the shorter game of the two

I agree.

Bayonetta is a complete action game suited for console (and hopefully PC).

Vanquish is like an arcade shooter detached from a cabinet and attached to a 360/PS3, basically :D a modern coin op, in terms of rhythm and length.

Love both games, obviously.

This is nice. I like Bayonetta but I don't think I love it enough to double dip when I can play it XB1.

When we getting JSRF on steam tho?

To be fair Vanquish has little to no backtracking and asset recycling, it just keeps moving forward.

Bayo has a bunch of missions that are made from assets of previous levels to make the game longer (which Kamiya himself admitted to doing).

I like Vanquish being short and on point, makes it great to replay.

yeah, not to mention this is awesome timing for Sega since Nier just came out, which sold incredibly well and both are hack and slash games with Bayo having less RPG elements and a straight up action game, I wonder if they/PG planned that

It's because Nintendo. Ever since the Wii it is all but illegal for a dude bro to be caught dead with a Nintendo system. Breath of the Wild barely a month old and people are salivating over CEMU. Someone mentioned CEMU got Bayonetta 2 as well.

For them, anything but actually purchasing a Nintendo system.

Tell us how you really feel about Bayonetta.

Most likely a happy coincidence.

The best announcement would be that Bayonetta 3 is coming to PS4, Xbox One, & Switch. Then there will be a port of Bayonetta 2 on all three consoles, it be physical, digital, or both.

Yea you got it bro 😂😂😂

I'm still bitter about Vanquish not having new game plus, tbh.

Back at PAX Prime 2015 I talked to a dude who worked with Platinum who told me that he was excited that Bayonetta would be "playable by more people in a way they wanted it to be played". I always took that to mean a PC port, but he'd never say anything else. He's not working with Platinum anymore, but I'm surprised that it's taken this long, if that's the case.

Then again, right after he told me that, they announced Bayonetta Pachinko. Maybe he was just fucking with me.

Not really a big deal in Vanquish with the way the mechanics work since your weapons level up and down in real time and their use isn't gimped in terms of abilities if they are at a lower level. New weapons are also gained and lost regularly as well (you don't carry an arsenal around like in RE or MGS for example).

No that image is from the first game and they're red accents darkened which is the first games primary color. Can we move past the 2 talk already?

I dont know, those doesnt like the bayo 1 gun-boots at all, neither bayo 2 tou.

I think its bayo 3, I dont want to hype myself just yet tou.

Excited to see Bayonetta come to Steam. I probably won't play it again, seeing as how I 100%'d two different versions already, but I'll throw money at it.

If youi reverse image search the pic you'll see that it's promotional material from Bayo 1

vanquish's lack of new game plus makes sense since it deliberately want to fuck your shit up with god hard, vanquish's difficulties are honestly like god hand's except they added one between normal and (god)hard

Most likely a happy coincidence.

haha probably, maybe Sega planned only for the april fool's joke

People would be losing their minds about the Switch holding back the other versions.

The number of angry threads would blot out the Bayonetta 2 outrage.

no platinum games should have new game + frankly

This makes no sense at all.

Stylish Action games thrive on NG+. They'd be mad garbage without it.

design 'em around a clean slate all the time baby

MGR NG Hard is actually my favorite way of playing that game, but it's no surprise that MGR lacks in combat depth compared to something like Bayonetta. MGR is all about efficiency, so knowing which upgrades to get for the optimal run adds to that. Stylish Action is all about looking good while beating ass, and tackling the remixed enemy waves that are balanced around an upgraded character.

They did, and it was the first time they offered arbitrary resolution support, so we should be safe on that if they're handling Bayo themselves.

And I read that a lot about Bayo 2, which is very disappointing. I guess the game suffered from not having the original director. And I don't really care about W101, so I can't even look at it from the "at least we got a new IP from Kamiya" angle.

Dismiss W101 at your own peril. It is one of the greatest games ever made and only slightly below Bayo 1 for me. It asks a LOT from the player though. You really need to pay insane amounts of attention and it is pretty much the opposite of a hand-holding game. Not as crazy as La-Mulana but still.

I've watched a bunch of advanced combat videos an tutorials, I don't think it's a shallow game or anything, it just doesn't quite appeal to me. If it came out on a platform I had, of course I'd play it, but it doesn't make me want a WiiU any more.

This is a lowest-of-key troll post.

It doesn't need one. It's not like you have any abilities you lose and the weapons don't keep their levels if you switch them out.

I would enjoy DMC-style games more if they were built around a single playthrough that encompasses the full range of difficulty levels that we generally see stretched out between multiple playthroughs.

Barring that, which will never happen for reasons that I understand, I would rather not be expected to have spoiled a game's presentation for myself by playing on an easier difficulty level before playing on the one I'll enjoy most. They don't necessarily have to gut NG+ for this to be achieved, but that's probably the easiest way to do it moving forward (and it definitely won't happen).

This is definitely Bayo 1 but if this does well I could totally see SEGA gaining interest in the series again and a Bayo 3 for PS4/X1/PC/Switch could happen. Fingers crossed.

This is the worst hot take I've read in a while
Like the whole point is you jack the difficulty up after your first playthrough since you've probably mastered the combat at lower levels and you have way more skills to diversify your play style than you did the first time around.

but I want to jack the difficulty level up before my first playthrough and have encounters designed around that

of course, I still enjoy going in with a clean slate more than starting on the presumed-intended difficulty, so it isn't a huge issue, but having difficulties designed around clean slates would probably be more fun for me.

God Hand is for you.
