WipEout Omega Collection releasing on June 6

Well there's no reason to keep great games on end of life platform they won't makes successor for if they can give them second chance. And if we go by gravity rush example there might be PS4 game already in production.

Thanks for the tip. Do you remember the steps you took to actually transfer the downloaded files onto your Vita?

The download wasn't working last night so I couldn't try it but I've just done it now, however I've no idea what to do next other than unzip the file. Is it a simple content manager job or something more complicated?

Also it looks like US won't be getting the steelbook preorder bonus.

This hurts me profoundly, but I figured as much for a long time now.

On a more positive note, I'm super excited for the Omega Collection. I just wish I could order one version (physical or digital) and get all the preorder bonuses. As it is, I'm severely tempted to grab both versions because I need more Wipeout themes in my life and Sony seems to have a track record of not selling preorder themes after a game has been released. I get giving it away to people who preorder, but why not sell it for some extra cash money afterwards? Preorder people got a freebie and the rest of us can pay up for the digital trinkets.

Seems they are remastering PSP games like Parappa, Loco Roco, Patapon. And releasing this Wipeout collection that is basically remasters of a Vita game and 2 remakes of PSP games.

Just ask them to merge the 2 Ridge Racer games into a PS4 remaster collection, that were a compilation with the best (most content, RR7 & later never existed) of the series.

Regarding Parappa I know it's a PS1 game, but considering it's being ported by the same guys who are porting the other PSP games and basically has the same improvements, I bet they are porting the PSP version to PS4.

Yeah, really hoping they get it up soon. I want to use my $5 in rewards on it that expires this month.

Getting the feeling this is probably going to be a relatively limited physical release.
 
So, I pre-ordered the digital version yesterday, but I can't find the theme anywhere in the theme settings, library, or PSN store.

Hopefully the game won't disappoint on release when it comes to the inclusion of supersampling.

Yeah, I'm not taking any chances and I'll just grab the digital copy with my April Promo bonus to have the game immediately playable from my HDD (I like having games, especially racers, immediately​accessible) and preorder a physical copy for the steelbook in whichever region gets it. Xdev Twitter told me Australia would get steelbook but I've asked about and there's been no word so idk...

If you don't live in NA, you probably won't get the theme until release. Every other region has to wait, USA gets it asap after preordering :/ it shits me, honestly. I'd be running that dynamic theme already otherwise, but now I have to wait months instead.

I'm in Europe, so that explains it. Pretty shitty thing to withhold it from customers outside of NA.

Pretty sure it is. Damn, that's one good looking steelbook. Not better than DC, but damn close. Clearly inspired by OG WipEout and 2097 covers - grey, purple and yellow and ships flying towards the viewer, one point perspective. Had the ships been drawn as wireframes... man, would be perfection.

I like, I really like it. And now I need it. Fuck.

Yeah, same. Will probably do like what I did with DC, buy the steelbook but also get it digitally so I don't need to change discs to play it.

Here's hoping they don't do anything to stuff up the handling/feel given it's not (as far as I know) the original staff working on this.

Preorder online! I did, for pickup on release day. $10 deposit and it's locked in that I get a steelbook.
 
Does anyone know if it's possible to preorder the EU steelbook from NA? I desperately want this, but I don't know if it's possible to get the retailers selling it to ship internationally

JB-HIFI should work if you US fans can't find a cheaper price from EU, although the codes for the static PS4 themes mightn't work due to regional bs (same with EU though).
 
Is Wipeout 2048 the same thing as Wipeout XL in North America?

I enjoyed Wipeout XL for the PSX, but overall I prefer my high-speed futuristic racers to focus on racing. Save the weapons for the kart racers.

Wipeout 2048 was a Vita launch game set before all the other Wipeout games, and is not the same as Wipeout XL/2097, the PS1 game you speak of.
 
Still can't believe this is coming out on my birthday. Couldn't be more appropriate. At least I've got my present to myself figured out.....as I know my wife won't get me this lol.
 
Alrighty; pre-ordered! Now to wait until I get my $15 April Promo credit to get my digital copy (and sweet dynamic theme). Not going to take the chance that it won't be available afterwards, and I like having games immediately accessible on HDD.

Yeah the Fury menu's BGM and FX were so awesome. Would often boot it up just to hear it purr 😁 would be cool if that music and theme are present in some capacity. But this dynamic one is arguably the next best thing (OG WipEout HD menu), so I'm happy anyway. Still going to get both static and dynamic with physical/digital anyway (I'm a sucker, I know :P)
