Man this phone looks awesome... I think it's time to upgrade my phone after like 6 years. Does ATT not offer just a 1 time payment to upgrade phones anymore or do you have to sign up for the monthly payment plans they offer? I never remembered there being monthly payment plans for upgrades..
Upgrades been gone for a while. You can basically get an interest free loan for a phone now instead lol.
I expect they will go quickly, yeah. You have to have the phone in your possession to redeem, though, so if you do it as soon as you get it, you might stand a chance.
Once you have the phone in your possession, you either go to the Samsung Promotions website and fill out the form or, from the phone, open up the Shop Samsung app and submit your claim from there.

I believe the 6 years old phone remark.
They removed contracts over two years ago. Phone payment plans have been there for like 5 years.

Held this phone today, both. They feel so good. The 8+ feels the same as my note 4 with the case on. I'm waiting for the note 8 though.

Not bad, but I want to see it in max res. Hopefully it's not much worse than that.
When I first heard we were getting something different to what was announced (knowing nothing about the chips) I was annoyed.

Im glad I can't really tell major difference between 1440p and 1080p. I'll just keep it at 1080p.
S8+ results look like what I was hoping for. Still a bit afraid to get a flagship device and commit to the price. What to do, what to do.
Played with the normal S8 at work and it was smexy, really liking the design.
There didn't seem to be noticeable difference in the S7 phones with resolution changes.

What was the drop in battery life for the s7 when you switched to 1440p?
I don't own one but looked into a bunch of reviews after the 7.0 update. I'm waiting for the exynos version to drop to $400 in the US to buy one even though the S8 is really tempting.

I just came from AT&T and pre-ordered the S8+. I wanted to do the B1G1 but in order to get the offer I had to order a new DIRECTV line and that was an extra $30 a month and a 2 year contract.... so fuck that, I just got one for myself.

Went and played with them today and decided to settle on the 8+. Coming from the S6 and can't wait. Surprisingly, my wife also chose the 8+.
Edit - preordered from Verizon and it says 4/21 is the shipping date, does anyone know what shipping speed they use for this kind of stuff? I'm having it sent to my office, but I'll need to switch it if it's going to be delivered on the weekend.

Cancelled my order for the Galaxy S8 after getting my hands on an S8+ at my local Verizon store.
Anyone have suggestions on a case? I've got about seven different ones added to my cart on Amazon, but it can be hard to tell. I want something as thin as possible, but also somewhat durable.

I'm still very disappointed that the display is no good for me. Everyone is saying it's the best, but with the very obvious fringing of light on dark I see, I can't be the only one. I want to know who else has this problem and why. Must be something Samsung has been doing with their panels at least since the S7.
Otherwise the phone is really nice. It looks and feels great. The design is made to create envy.

Hopefully we see some this week, some publications have already got their review devices since last Monday, taking their sweet ass time reviewing it.
TMobile says it's shipping either the 20th or 21st and it's overnight. So hopefully it ships Thursday.

It's certainly possible. I had a former coworker who had this happen where they tried to deliver to the office on the weekend. I don't know what carrier or shipping company though.

Not currently. It only says "expected ship date" which is 4/21.

Verizon is weird. In one spot my order says "expected ship date 4/21/2017" and in another spot is says "deliver by 4/21/2017". So, who the fuck knows. Gonna suck if they don't ship 'til the 21st with it being a friday.
I'll be upset if I don't get the phone on the 21st, mainly because that $100 preorder bonus is going to sell quickly.

None of those stores offer a deal with tmobile. Sams club is the best deal with a $150 gift card. Assuming you shop there. On 2nd thought I probably should've just purchased the phone through Samsung to get the preorder bonus right away, but meh.

I'm just doing the Verizon deal where if I trade my current S6 and upgrade to their unlimited​ plan then the S8 is only $15/mo. It's Verizon so it's probably still a rip, but it's convenient.
Depends. Not sure what installment plan you looking at, but s6 seems to be worth about $200 on swappa so if you save more than that you got a good deal

I am already a Verizon customer. How does buying a phone from Best Buy work in this case?
It's the same as buying from carrier. You put in your info at checkout to see if you qualify for upgrades or what not.

Just got the Ringke S8+ cases I ordered off Amazon today. Honestly I'm really surprised and impressed at how small the form factor of the S8+ is. Also, being a righty and having fairly average sized male hands, the fingerprint sensor is in the most naturally spot for me luckily. Seriously can't wait!

So, this worked no problem for my wife's phone. Got her upgraded to the S7 that she wanted. But, I can't figure out how the hell to upgrade my phone. Hers is the main number on the account, so it won't take mine. If I try hers again it tells me I'm not eligible for an upgrade because I just upgraded to the S7. I put my number in and it just says my account details don't match.
