That shitty character?
Man, I hope hat movie really knocks it out of the park. I'm not even a fan of Carol but I'm pretty tired of seeing people jumping at that low hanging fruit.
That shitty character?
Would have been nonsense for Black Widow to be all Gung-ho about fighting Aliens and God-like beings when she was just a highly trained human/spy. It makes sense based on her history and who she is. The movie played to what her strenghts were instead of just going for cheap 'strong woman' like Harley Quinn with her baseball bat.Black Widow tricking Loki is good writing. Black Widow outright telling everyone in the audience that it's stupid her and Hawkeye are in the film, but it's okay because they're acknowledging it...
That shitty character?
That would be lower than any other DCCU opening, nothing confusing about it.
People said that about Iron Man.That shitty character?
And it is.This movie should be a guaranteed blockbuster for WB.
The thing is, WB is sitting on a gold mine with Wondy. This movie should be the DC equivalent of the MCU Iron Man/GotG/Capt America...but maybe even moreso.
There is a very large audience waiting for a female superhero to champion. All the young girls (my daughter included) who went batshit crazy over Rey from SW7? Yeah, they'd be all about jumping on the Wonder Woman train.
This movie should be a guaranteed blockbuster for WB.
Not surprising at all. Two terrible DCEU films prior, and Gal Godot doesn't have the star power to carry the film when audiences have only seen her flaunting a bikini in Fast & Furious.
Which is a shame, the film will probably end up being better than the Snyder shitfests.
Holy shit! I had no idea Mamma Mia! made more than half billion. That's... wow. That's a very odd framing for an article.
It is the lowest, sure, but that's a respectable opening for Wonder Woman. Mendelson had a better point overall.
$83 million opening and $225 million domestic take would probably be a good result for WB.
not the same industry, but Square Enix brushing asid 3.4 million sell-through's of Tomb Raider says a lot about corporation expectations vs reality. they all sufffer from the 500 days of summer syndrome.
Aquaman is like:
OH YEA?
HOLD MY BEER, KHALEESI.
Isn't Pizza Hut the KFC of pizza? I thought they were the same owners.
Dammit wrong thread.
She's not going to resemble her comic book counterpart about as much as Starlord and Tony did theirs before GOTG and Iron Man came out. That shitty character?
I want this to be a sleeper hit. Please we need these characters Wonder Woman and Aquaman could be such great franchises.
Society is sexist and D.C. movies are terrible.

Just let the movie be good. Everything else will take care of itself.
First 3 years of my (almost 5 now) youngest's life I carried a baby bag. Snacks/food/drinks under diapers and wipes.
Man it's going to suck when they blame this on audiences not wanting to see female-led action movies.
They're pretty much going to remake the character from the ground-up.
What exactly are you basing this on?But it is the reality. It doesn't help Wonder Woman isn't a great superhero movie, but when shit superhero movies with male characters perform better, then it is obvious. The audience for superhero movies just doesn't dig diversity as much as we all would want.
That would be a great result, all things considered.
I just want the movie to be successful. I mean, I want it to be good as well, but if I can't have that, the least I can hope for is financial success.
How tragic would it be if it did worse than the fictional version in Entourage
It's not confusing, but you have people in this thread legit acting like an 83 million OW is bad for this sort of movie when it's on par with other movies in the genre.
In what world is that a bad number for the first female superhero movie?
Ah, the title is by Slayven, not the article. Carry on.
Starlord and Tony totally resemble their counter partsShe's not going to resemble her comic book counterpart about as much as Starlord and Tony did theirs before GOTG and Iron Man came out.
They're going to turn that character into a hit.
Why would you want a shitty movie to be successful? If this movie is shit, the best thing that can happen to this franchise is for the movie to flop.
Agreed. They just exaggerated the best parts if anything.Starlord and Tony totally resemble their counter parts
I'd rather have a good film.
Agreed. They just exaggerated the best parts if anything.
Please don't ask me what the best parts of Carol Danvers are. Resist the temptation.
No it's not. 83 million is good. Marketing push hasn't even started yet. Don't pay attention to the thread title. It's purposely misleading.I want this to be good and be successful. This is pretty disappointing news.
Tony is a neurotic quip machine with all sorts of weird hangups and a jokester and Starlord is basically a big kid that never grew up and surrounds himself in a cloak of 80s pop culture familiarity.Starlord and Tony totally resemble their counter parts
