Now come on, even the most hardened GT fanboy would be hard pushed to defend standard cars, surely that possible is untenable!

I was being sarcastic ;) I wish they used trophy and active player data for betas. Kaz would have hand delivered my invite. I think the new tracks will rotate in by the weekend though.

Standard cars are about the rights of every car to have a chance to be driven. Every car is precious, even if they were conceived with low poly models.

I've heard if you pray to a Kaz shrine for an hour before bed you are blessed with the alpha for Plane mode.

I accept no liability for disappointment or demonic possession when using this method.
 
Bought a PS for GT, a PS2 for GT3, a PS3 for GT5, a PS4 for GT7 and now a PS Pro for GTS.

Yet Kaz still laughs.

It needs help. That's why GTS is such an interesting move, because it's allowing PD to focus on a smaller amount of content. Because as much as the previous games attempted a lot, they faltered on even some fundementals (let alone the details), whether that meant the engine and tyre sounds or how developed specific modes were. This is a series where skipping on car interiors, tweaked PS2-era models for a lot of car content (which also meant a lack of normal tuning), and tearing/framerate drops were the norm for as long as some players have been alive. We'll be going from THAT to GTS. It's gonna be awesome.

i hope so man...I'm 30 and bought the first GT on PS. I skipped GT2, got GT3, skipped GT4 and got GT5. I'm ready for some new Gran Turismo and really hope this new focus pays off.
 
No invite..........my hatred for GT6 grows.

I also wonder how much the FIA sanctioning restricts their track choices. Even Brands Hatch is not "safe" enough to get the highest FIA rating, compared to that Eiger Nordwand is a deathtrap - for the spectators as well.

Personally I want Apricot Hill and Deep Forest the most out of the original GT tracks.


I remember "19" and that's surely without the different layouts most tracks have. pCARS 2 will have over 60 locations, some of them laserscanned, it can't be only 9 locations in GTS.



I really appreciate this. For titles like Assetto Corsa with a small audience that almost has no casuals among them at all, the bubble talk is not much of a problem, but for a game like GT that surely aims at sales numbers over 4 million - more than any other racing game, the guys who never played a GT game, the ones who usually only play arcade racers and even the ones who only have a console for Fifa and CoD but like cars need to be considered and should have a voice.

But seriously... you knew the sounds were bad, right?

Well, GTS does have a drift mode and Eiger is one of the best drift tracks in GT. Iirc its 27 tracks.
 
Does it matter where you applied. I used the SCEE blog but the one on granturismo.com had a questionnaire and seemed far more official. Applied to it anyway.

So we have people who played GT6 (and have PSN trophies in it) that aren't in (checked your emails? and not only PS notifications?),
but we don't have people IN who haven't played GT6?

It's like stabbing the early PS4 adopters for their missing GT loyalty.
The people who have played GT6, but didn't get an invite, probably have a Driveclub platinum or trophies in pCARS and Assetto Corsa too xDD

I've got DriveClub trophies too. I checked my email and there's no code. Haven't checked my PS4 notifications though, I don't think there's anything there anyway.
 
Just got the EU BETA invite email, redeemed and downloading, owned physical GT5 and digital GT6.
Platinum in both GT5 and Driveclub
 
Got an EU invite (NL), downloading now!

I think it's just random and you have to get lucky. I have no platinum trophies in any GT or other racing game, haven't played a GT game in ages, lost interest in GT6 shortly after it released.
 
PS4 plugged in, updated, download almost finished, wheel switched to T500, then I get to read here that we can't do arcade yet.

Hmm, guess I'm gonna play some Driveclub instead then.
