Seeing as it's a code, the burner account trick could probably work again. However, that was insanity for the 4.5 beta FW and eventually, even GAF mods shut that topic up :P

For what it's worth someone with a code can maybe try it out with their friends OFF of GAF. I don't think betas, like demos, require an active console activation, meaning they can be downloaded on as many consoles as the account signs into. I might be wrong, though.
 
Wow can't even play the arcade, didn't realise online races is all there is. Long wait till Saturday.


Anyway got the hyundai road car(slapped ch tires on it) corvette gr4 and wrx gr3.
 
Also, I signed up a while back when it just asked for your PSN name. Was that a different beta wave? Or is that the signup people in the EU are now getting invites from?
 
Hmmm, I applied for the EU one the minute it was up, and did it again some time later. I NEVER get in to these limited Betas for anything.. please god's of gaming make it so. Really curious what DS4 controls are like in GT games, at long last...

Arcade is now locked out in US too as of the recent patch (You aren't missing anything, the AI was shit). They want to focus online only. You can still enter the qualifying sessions at any time you want, even when Sport race sessions aren't active. It is basically just TT lapping on three tracks a day now when race windows aren't active.

I believe all PS4 compatible wheels are supported in the beta. Even incompatible wheels like my G27 work via CronusMax, GIMX, etc. work arounds.
 
I swear whenever there is a "Beta Watch" moment on my email inbox I always conveniently get Sony spamming me marketing emails at the same time lol

For someone who last enjoyed GT with GT3: A-Spec how will I like this game? Driveclub was a good game but it did not hold me. GT3 felt so straightforward and it was really a great game. Especially Smoky Mountain in the Impreza. Great course! Any idea's on rally courses or gameplay? Is this for the diehards?
 
Since nothing is playable yet in the EU, I looked at some of the scapes and replays for a while (on PS4Pro).

I must admit that the graphics didn't convince me 100%. Replays and garage views struggle to keep 60fps. On the Brands Hatch replay the main car's shadow disappears at one point. Shadows in general are still pretty low resolution and messy, especially at a distance. (It flickers all over the place in the distance, just like in GT5/6, although way less severe.)
Dust/smoke effects still have a very low resolution, which becomes very pronounced around grassy areas. The grass on the rally stage was also placed in square-like formations, which doesn't look too good from higher angles.
When people said it looked like an HD version of GT5/6, I feel like they were not really lying...

It's not all bad though, the trees do look pretty convincing, lighting is great, cars looked like they got dirty in the rally stage more convincingly and ingame angles looked very smooth and seemed to mitigate some of the graphical problems of the replay angles.

The sound has never bothered me much, but I don't think GTS will get it completely right.

Of course this is all from looking at the demos for half an hour, and I'm aware it's still a beta, so I'll wait with my final judgement.
But I kinda miss the days of GT3 where everything looked so perfect and in sync. Give me an old TV and I'll still be impressed with the quality and realism of the graphics on display.

Anyway, this all won't really matter, as long as the actual driving feels good.

Haha, that remains to be seen. It's been a while since I played GT without a wheel, so I guess that will play a big role.
But the graphics by themselves will only dictate whether I'll watch the replays most of the time. (When a game does them well I spend almost the same amount of time racing as I watch the replays, so yeah.)
But as Driveclub proved to me, I don't need replays to enjoy a racing game :)

Guys theres no conspiracy, I havent played GT6, played 5 a good amount. Got Driveclub plat. Literally just random or sent to people who consistently play their beta's.
 
In the European beta pending Saturday to play a little to see demo on the new circuits <3

Two screens quickly done..In movements it is magnificent and the menus are of a crazy class oO

I wonder what criteria they are based on to select Beta participants. What is your best Gran Turismo game maybe? :p

I don't think you can share the beta invite. I tried loading the beta with my US account and a message prompted on the screen saying my online ID has not been registered as a participant.

So I guess if somebody shared the beta with you, you would only be able to play using the allowed PSN ID.

You can't account share it, as there's no option to re-download it when using another console.

To clarify:
1. The code is tied to the account it was sent to. Another account can redeem it, and it will boot - but it won't allow you to play.
2. The beta can only be downloaded to one console with the supplied code.
3. The beta (on that console) can only be used by an account that has registered beta access.
