I've flipped between Android and Windows phone for years, for the past while it's been all Windows phones because they 'just worked' however I'm bored of not being able to mess around. Sols my 950 xl and posted it this afternoon, currently using the rubbish back up phone under my S8 arrives.
For the people being surprised at the case size for a 6.2 phone I've been able to play with both s8 and the s8+, I think it's down to the screen ration, it's feels long and then. I'm moving form a 5.7 to a 5.8 screen however the S8 is narrower than my owl 950 xl.
This is a good site for seeing the size difference on phones.

Got to play around with the S8+ and it's cool but I don't thin it's enough of an upgrade from my S7 edge. If they'd added more ram I would have jumped on it. I still might just because of the $100 pre order package you can opt in for. Guess we'll see this Friday when I get paid and see if the pre order items convince me to pick one up.
I've always received my devices early when preordering through T-Mobile. Its typically only a day or two but I'm still holding out hope that I get it early next week.

I got my hands on both, and sadly the S8 screen width is less than my S7, or at least looks that way based on the curve.
I'll be given the S8 for free, but really wish it was the +.

I ll be switching the bixby button to launching the camera or something (already confirmed this can be done by 3rd app).

The S8+ according to the case im holding in my hand is actually as wide as the regular S7!

Yeah I know, the S8 is slightly narrower than the S7. I'm really tempted by the S8+ but my previous phone (the 950 xl) was sort of the limit for me, it felt quite big in the pocket and the s8+ is taller still (though it is narrower). It's also a bit heavier.
I think I'll stick with the s8... I think.
You have to wait until you get the phone.

For some reason the price of my S8+ went from $850 to $670 on my order page. I hope it's real.

Edit: Once you remap the Bixby key to something like Google Assistant, can you remove the app after and it will keep those settings or does that app have to remain on my phone? I dislike that it wants permissions to basically every aspect of the phone.

Why wouldn't you? It's $100 off!
All carriers allow you to pay off the balance right away too with no penalty too.
Can you not just do the payment plan and then pay it off?
Its pretty stupid they won't let you buy it outright though.
Because I'm on a family plan and don't want to mess with that stuff. I just want to pay for the phone, trade in my S7 Edge and call it a day.
I think they can. I can do it from their website. I think they either haven't been trained or get some sort of bonus for signing people up for plans.
Such a bummer that you are getting the phone before launch ;p

battery life.... discuss.
coming from s7 edge, id say with the same usage getting about 3-4 extra hours. normally my s7 edge would die before 7pm from morning. i am constantly on my phone due to work.

I did today! I'm coming from a 6s+ so I like the form factor and size of the S8+
Any slowdowns? I'm curious about the battery life, UFS 2.1, and about the video cropping from watching YouTube videos. Also what case are you using.

I have a feeling I'm gonna regret ordering the S8 over the S8+...
Purchasing straight from Samsung seems like the best option, if you're not getting a cheaper deal on monthly payments from a cellular provider. I don't have to claim my Gear VR and worry about not receiving it.
Can't wait. Hoping that there's a preorder/promo that comes withe VR headset for free in the UK. If not its still cool. Can't wait though!- Status
