Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite gameplay

Chris has some kind of bullet system?

I wonder if it's for Magnum since it seem to be good tool for him.

For reference, Strider's new air special is Savage Slash from Strider 2.

I wonder if they'd retain the Strider 2 motion (Down, Up+Attack) for it in MvCI, since it'd fit with them making motions a bit more simplistic across the board.

Thanks! I added that to the list.

Those sure are a LOT of reused assets and animation :O

Roster better be big to compensate. Art-style is also a big downgrade from UMvC3. All that being said, gameplay looks more marvel than I expected from what I've read so far. No assists is still a major bummer though :(

Also some characters got new moves, or got their moves back from MVC2. I wonder if we are going to get double punch and double kicks (like old time?)

hah, agreed. not even mad.

My main fear, like always, is one stone is so much more powerful/optimal than the rest that there's no point in even trying to use any others and it just results in the same shitty setups/combos for every match.

I am so happy after seeing that gameplay, but I think it's the same kind of happiness I feel when a news article comes out about how Donald Trump hasn't nuked a country yet.

For what it's worth, that was the only known occasion of noticeable slowdown in the console build. One of Tekken-GAF went to Hypespotting and played the Capo build (the build with the bears and Eddy, said to be the final build) and said that he noticed no slowdown whatsoever.
I played ~20 hours of the Capo build the other weekend and saw zero slowdown on ps4*, it looks like a pretty rare bug.

*Apart from the slowmo finishes obv

I'm hyped, and I'm actually glad that the assists are gone. That and the FADC in SF4 were too execution-heavy for me. :)

OK, and Tekken 7??

tumblr_nv1xrtbUyx1usrgjso1_r1_540.gif

4 characters excuse doesn't make sense to me when we're using models and animations from MvC3 which was last-gen and had to accommodate 6 characters.

This. The game looks awesome gameplay wise but it's models are ugly as shit. Like...are people forgetting that mvc3 is 6 years old? Hell, isn't that mega man x model just a reskin of zero's model from TvC? It's like capcom didn't even try.

And people do notice. They'll play injustice then later this year be like..."why does this look so much worst?"

So essentially we should have a 1v1 MvC or Marvel fighter from Capcom. I won't say no to that.

Maybe Marvel should talk to Arc System Works next time.
you're kidding yourself if you believe the game would need to be 1v1 to look better. you genuinely believe this looks a generation better than MvC3? are you serious?

A 3D fighter has different technical priorities in terms of characters and stages, so I don't find them directly comparable.

Yo this game looks like ass and I'm not optimistic but injustice looks bad too and PS4 tekken 7 doesn't exist yet even if there is a current demo build. Also it's a 1 v 1 3D fighter with a lot less going on.

hahaha

still holding my breath until we see the other infinity stones in action though...

This looks super clunky, visually.

It almost feels like a 3D version of MvC 2, where character sprites were imported from various games and ran a wide gamut from "serviceable" to "beautiful."

yes they're different, and if that's preventing you from looking at MvCI critically then please look at UMvC3 and tell me that MvCI looks like it is a generation ahead of its predecessor.

So my video isn't loading because my internet is fucked, but as far as I can tell, you build Infinity Meter the same way you build revenge meter in SFIV, by taking damage.
If the tag system is as loose as it looks, then Ultron's delayed stand-style special moves are a MASSIVE asset. Imagine calling in a robot then tagging to a teleport character for instance.
It's the most assist-like thing, and yeah that's definitely an asset.

Just, not too much in the way of specials otherwise, but it's a vertical slice. And I assume he relatively puts some actual damage down.

The game play system looks more interesting than first thought.

The tag system is far less restricting. There is definitely team considerations now and there is a lot of stuff that can be "broken".

Hype levels slightly rising but we need more info.

Is this the switch version?

Graphics and art direction are pretty disappointing. I don't know what Capcom's obsession is recently (SF4, SF5, SFxT, MvC Infinity) with making fighting game characters look like plastic action figures.

I wonder if these characters and the graphics in general would benefit from getting a Borderlands/MvC3 style comic border.

It's not. I agree with you on that based on that video. I don't think a 3D fighter doing different things with the environments is an apt comparison, that's all.

we need more power

2v2 seems like a design decision rather than a limitation

Also do we know why people can do moves after tagging out

Because Marvel.

Game looks fantastic to me, but I also echo the sentiments that it looks times more TvC than Mahvel.

I loved TvC so that works for me

That one exchange between Chris and Ultron had me fucked up trying to understand what was going on, because of the editing as well.

Came too late to the party and now the video in the OP doesn't work anymore. :( Is there another version somewhere?

Edit: I'm just blind, there is another link in the OP. XD

Have we seen incoming characters yet? It looks like the game doesn't end after one character dies because we see hulk on the ground in one segment but I don't know what the next character coming in looks like.

Game looks like a mobile game and step back from 3 and that's fucking annoying as shit

BUT I like the idea of a combo breaker for 2 meters (TvC is the GOAT versus)

tho wtf is going on - it calls in the other member but the combo is still happening??

The gems being able to offer passive abilities outside of activating them with that Inifinity Storm mechanic really kind of reinforces the CvS2 groove comparison the devs made. I wonder if the meta will eventually come down to certain character + gem combinations becoming more prevalent than others, like how CvS2 has silliness like A Groove Bison and Blanka.

I dunno it looks okay? Gameplay is certainly closer than I thought it would. The graphics I am still whatever on but they aren't bad. That HUD is butt ugly though. People in here are complaining about the way it looks though.

Now people that bagged on KoF14's graphics know how it feels lol.

Also the way that video is edited is doing us no favors right now.
ala P4A homie :|
Going by some of these responses people in here don't really play things outside of Capcom fighters in here.

Is a face like this ugly to you? like really "ugly"?

2017-04-2615_54_48-ma7dsgv.png

I'm a picky person myself when it comes to looks but if this is considered ugly then wow.

People have super bizzare standards for graphics these days. Even though most preach they dont care about them

game looks fine and fun. Camera just needs to be zoomed out a bit and we are all good.

Good that striders there

Nope video cuts before the character would come in
it looks like you can cancel the startup of moves into tags which is what's getting us so hyped
Isn't that how SFxT's tags worked too?

I really liked Chun-li and Hulk's animation. I did not play much SFV to say anything about her, but Hulk... wow, looks amazing.

They need to pull the camera back a bit or make the characters a tad smaller. They seem to take up way too much space on the screen right now.
