As someone that's played too fucking much of Marvel 3 I can say its looking similar to me. More similar than I would have liked. The reused animations are obvious to me

Reused animations have never been such a problem in games when Tekken 7, DOA 5, and Injustice 2 do it (Tekken in particular has been guilty of this for DECADES, and no one ever calls it out). Apparently, it's only a sin when Capcom does it.

And, then when SF5 totally reanimates almost everything, no one appreciates it or even notices. Lol, I've even seen some folks that thought Kolin's overhead was just Laura's V-skill overhead animation, even though they're OBVIOUSLY totally different. So when Capcom doesn't reuse, they still get accused of reusing. Might as well reuse animations, then. Not worth the effort these days.

I'm kind of hoping we get those character specific buffs back from the original MSH. Maybe in a separate mode to the standard mode as that may skew infinity stone selection and stagnate the game.

Holy shit guys. Keits just posted an amazing theory on twitter.

What if bodys of KO'd characters stay on the ground because one of the stones (soul gem) can fuckinng bring them back?

That would be awesome. One of the characters in Skullgirls (Valentine) could resurrect fallen teammates by spending 5 bars.

Wouldn't be a VS game without reused assets :P

But I hate all pre release videos for fighting games. They always make it look so boring. Can't wait for pros to get their hands on it, then we'll see what can really be done with this game.

Have LPN play it and he'll have optimal setups and combos within 20 minutes.

its good too see strider fully intact, with gram, vajra, summons etc. curious to see how they worked with the easier inputs

Also, that level 1 ouroboros

As someone that didn't play a lot of 4 I thought 5 looked very different when it was revealed.

Even some of the voices sounds reused.

Anyway, I enjoyed the shit out of this gameplay, looks really fun, and even without asssits looks like there's room for a fuckton of setups.

Rounds may be fun, never thought about it in a MvC game, but let's see.

About graphics, it doesn't look that pretty so far, but it looks better animated, more fluid imo, which sells it for me, I think it looks great.

Burts in MvC......meh...a MvC3 demo build had something similar and they took it out, let's see

Phoenix > Dark Phoenix > Resurrected Dark Phoenix. Or
Phoenix > Resuurected Phoenix > Dark Phoenix

At least the level of play here was way better than what we got with SFV initially.

I hope this is the game that makes me "click" with the VS style of gameplay.

It likely won't be, this has happened before ;(

Is there any evidence using two bars of the Infinity Meter does anything different from one bar or is it just a length difference?

Don't know if there's enough evidence in the video to reliably compare.

Maybe its like sf4 ultras, when it gets to the line you can activate it but the more you have the longer it lasts. 10 secs vs 15 secs or something like that.

I read about the changes to the combos last night and was real worried for the game

It looks like it works! And it looks similar to what I'd expect a game from this series to play like

It could use some iterations on whatever shaders they're using to give the characters more pop, because compared to the screenshots it looks like it just wasn't on in the gameplay

My only experience with SFV was, as my friend was trying to show it to me, we wound up trying to get to the start menu for two hours. And we eventually gave up.

Also ken's gross hair

Maybe I'll pick the complete version up later down the line, especially if venom somehow gets in. Adam warlock could be cool too

Looks fine and looks just like Marvel to me.

Looks less chaotic. I know a lot of casuals who were put off because they couldn't follow what was going on.

Internally developed. Done by staff that worked on X-Men Vs. Street Fighter, Marvel Super Heroes Vs. Street Fighter and Marvel Vs. Capcom 1, as well as (in the director's case) Capcom Vs. SNK 1.

I honestly feel like that may be the problem. Eighting worked on MvC3 so it's weird to not have their expertise with this game.

This is gonna be games as service title like sf v where they'll keep adding dlc characters every year. There will probably no complete version at least until the support of the game ended which could be years from now depending on how successful the game is.
gems build like ultra, looks like only from getting hit?
Yea looks to be the case I don't notice gem activation building meter for it.
