I finally caught up all the way, by the way. I really love the way they've handled 17's character. He's a complete badass now with his cool and collected attitude. You can tell how much he's grown from his delinquent punk days. He's polite and soft spoken, and doesn't let things get to him, but still has a bit of a cold edge to him. I always liked him in the Android arc and History of Trunks, but he exceeded any expectations I had of him here. I pretty much expected Goku to go fight him, recruit him, and leave. Instead we got real character development, and the writers managed to tease Uub and spend a fair amount of time on how 17's family and job has affected his life. Good job, DB Super. This arc is shaping up to be my favorite yet.

18 has also had a good amount of development throughout Super. I love watching her interacting with Krillin and their daughter.

I like you Sol.

I could have used people like you two weeks ago.

Well, at least your hypocrisy is in full display, for all to see. I'll take comfort in that.

NEP discussion

I know filler in the Saiyan arc pushed Tien/Launch, and I'd be down with that, but I'm totally cool with shipping Tien with the Chi-Chi lookalike. Still want Launch back either way

How was the AAC on the fight?

Animation Art Choreography

Heh. Had some decent moment but wasn't crazy. Piccolo had some sick attacks.

It was a competent episode but not "wooow" I guess.

There's one part that looked oddly like the lavender fight, i have to check that back.

It wasn't an episode dedicated to Gohan and Piccolo like 86 was to 17 so the pacing of the fight ended up suffering from all the cuts.

Really enjoyed that. Everything with Gohan and his dad was great and I really liked the little bits with other characters.

GOHAN BABY.

Just finished watching it. Amazing episode.

So much character development for Piccolo and Gohan. Really glad they're actually addressing Gohan's arrogance in order to develop him. It feels like they're hinting that Gohan is gonna go beyond his Ultimate form but I guess we'll have to wait for the Goku and Gohan episode. His transformation was more hype than SSB lol.

My thoughts;
Honestly, I was a bit disappointed. For the most part story was pretty good, but the visuals left a lot to be desired, the action was pretty weak compared to a lot of the stuff we've gotten this arc. I'm also not a fan of how Gohan just got his Ultimate form back by powering up after getting a lecture from Piccolo. I would have much rather had Gohan have to center himself spiritually or something to get it back.
The episode was almost entirely outsourced, so that explains why it wasn't the best visually.

I laughed out loud whenever Gohan grew his bang after transforming into his ultimate/mystic form.

They should just call it "Bang Gohan" now.

I think this episode would have been better if they saved the Febrola stuff until the end.
During the episode I kept worrying about how much time this was taking away from the Gohan development, and most of the development happened after the Cabba stuff.

Still a great episode, and developed a lot of characters, even Vegeta a little.

While I am sad that the episode was not fully centered on Piccolo x Gohan, it was overall good.
I didn't like the art very much, but it's Gohan!

Also:
I really disliked him going SSJ2 transforming into ultimate (aka black again)
It didn't felt good, cause technically Ultimate was never above SSJ2 (above being SSJ3), it was like an alternate transformation (or so I though) so it was kinda lame going yellow to black hair while he was screaming lol.

but <3 gohan forever. now to ep 90.

Chinese Vampire Roshi is way cooler than he has any right to be.

I might have to stitch together a full image of hot Tenshinhan.

^I'm guessing this scene will be a flashback.

Is that the first time we got to see a bare chest in DB Super ?

I'm honestly curious. They seem to be trying real hard to never show the characters' chests anymore.

Goku was bare chested for a scene last arc, we also saw half of Vegeta's chest and a shirtless Trunks (though he had some bandages covering parts of him).

At least the bang is back, but this series is having a really hard time conveying anything with gravity.

Unless that's just intentional slacking while glossing over exposition.
