Socom don't want to compete with Battlefield 1 and COD WW2 they'd be wasting their time and money making a Scoom sequel which could have been used elsewhere

This probably isn't the best place to ask, but do not want to dredge up an older topic.

Is there any chance that they will announce a new PS4 pro around/before E3 (like a new design, slim, etc.)? I'm thinking of buying a 4K TV and getting a PS4 pro at the same time as well, but was thinking I should wait.

Also, Dark Cloud 3, please.

Why would it have to compete with BF and COD? It would be competing with Seige if anything. I don't understand why people still make this argument.

They don't have to compete with them to succeed. Can very easily see it find a niche, but sizeable audience looking for a tactical, team based 3rd person shooter.

Like more Knack which everyone has been clamoring for

There's no reason why Socom couldn't be successful on its own, especially considering there's a multiplayer focused/gaas void in their 1p lineup

Plenty of other megatons they could announce.

None of these are megaton worthy lol.

These are all B games at best. i mean dont get my wrong, i wouldnt mind a sequel to like 10 games on that list, but there is a reason these are dead franchises.

A megaton would be Sony getting the rights to MGS6. The Agent finally getting released. Demon Souls 2. etc.

If handled right a big budget The Gataway announcement, "GTA London" as it'd immediately be referred to as, could be a megaton. Even say it'd be bigger than Agent if done well, which I don't think would be that big, RockStar's name didn't help Max Payne 3 all that much.

you are HIGH. :P I mean a trailer shown from 1st person w/ a dood dropping goons with his silence'd 9mm and then he switches to an air taster and juices some guy until he bursts into flames, screaming in horror... fade to black: SYPHON FILTER. 2018.

that would set shit off, trust an believe. It would legit be the talk of the E3.

I want whatever you're smoking.

How are Resistance and Syphon Filter "B" games when they sold more than Demon Souls? I'm sure more games on that list sold more than Demon Souls as well.

The Getaway would be bigger than an exclusive from the makers of GTA?

I'll be surprised if we don't see more of VII Remake, given that Nomura has said there's already another trailer he wasn't allowed to show at a previous event.

My Predictions (or more-so things I hope will happen, many of which have almost no chance of happening)

New Ratchet & Clank (that isn't a remake)
Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time sequel from Sanzaru
Resistance 4 from Insomniac
The Order: 1886 sequel from Ready at Dawn
Horizon DLC
Puppeteer 2
Sucker Punch game gets a 2017 release date
God of War gets a 2017 release date
Days Gone and Spider-Man get early to mid 2018 release dates
Vane and Hellblade get release dates
Queasy Games has a new rhythm game
Playstation All-Stars returns

And just in case all that happens, Psi-ops 2 and Beyond Good and Evil 2

I really want the highlighted ones. It's killing me that Insomniac is working on Spiderman and probably not another Ratchet game.

I want a Puppeteer Remaster. It's an amazing game an deserves a second chance. If Gravity Rush got one Puppeteer deserves one.

Right, because Dark Souls 3 isn't in the top 10 best selling games of the last 12 months...

Can't tell if I'm being trolled or if you're actually deluded.

I meant Demon Souls exclusively. I understand Dark Souls spun off of that and yes Dark Souls sold a lot, but not more than say Resistance: Fall of Man. My point is that they're not B tier games. Neither are the Souls games for that matter.

Resistance is a dead IP, so you're right, it's not a B-tier game, it's dead-tier.

Another Ratchet will come. That is one of Insomniac's best IP right now.

Absolutely regarding Puppeteer. Underrated game.

Most of the games on that list defined PS history. If half of those games get announced, that's pretty big megatons.

Dark Souls sold more than Resistance. The Resistance series has never been a big seller.

Yeah as a franchise of course it did it's multiplatform after all. The Resistance trilogy is a big PS franchise which still sold over 8 million not counting the PSP/Vita games. It might be dead if it is that's fine, but my point stands it's not a B tier franchise.

Resistance is not a big franchise. To put it in a simple way for you to understand: Insomniac haven't made a Resistance game after Resistance 3 sold poorly. They did make countless Ratchet games though and are now working on a Spider-Man game.

Resistance is not relevant.

Sucker Punch's new game is the number one thing I'm hoping for. And even if that doesn't happen, I still have the MvC:I and Spider-Man stuff to look forward to.

I'm also still holding on to a little bit of hope for a new Playstation All-stars. Got to keep the dream alive!

I agree with you but unfortunately I think they see it from the other perspective and would rather let the third party's do the work for them.

Agree to disagree as we're getting of topic.

I'm personally hoping for a big FF7R reveal as the opening with them closing with some more GoW gameplay with a release window at the very least.

No, I was speaking as a per game vs. per game basis too.

For example, Resistance 1 sold 140k-ish NA launch month.

Where as Dark Souls 1 sold in the range of anything from 300-500k in it's opening month with the PS3 version being the lead.

Dark Souls 1 on PS3 was and is bigger than the first Resistance game. The Souls series than became even bigger. Resistance holds no candle to the Souls franchise.

This evolved into something bigger than it should've. Maybe I'm looking at the wrong information and if I am then I'll admit that I'm wrong, but the first Resistance game sold over 4 million WW while Dark Souls 1 sold a little over 2 million on PS3.

Did the Resistance sales taper off after that yes of course they did and Dark Souls grew into a bigger franchise. My original point was and will continue to be that Resistance and Syphon Filter are not B tier games. If you disagree that's fine we're all entitled to our opinion after all.

sony bend making a fucking zombie game when the last of us exists is dumb when they could bring syphon filter back in a time when metal gear is dead and splinter cell has been mia

Anyone know who to contact to get actual invites to this event? Sony is the one company I don't seem to have an "in" with, and year after year, my coworker and I have to wait in line outside with hopes that we'll make it inside...

PM me if you know, please!

Just curious, where are you getting the 4 million number from?

Kyoufu is pulling the wool over our eyes so we can be shocked when they announce a sequel/reboot at E3.

I just can't see Bloodborne 2, TLOU2, RDR2, and Death Stranding all in the same conference. Two of these games will not be there.

- Bloodborne 2 is a rumor.
- The Last of Us Part II is 50/50. If scheduled for a 2018 release, it will be at E3. If 2019, it won't.
- Red Dead Redemption 2 is 50/50 because Rockstar isn't really known for being at E3 other than that time they were at Sony's conference for a GTA 5 remaster for consoles.
- Death Stranding is 50/50 because I feel like they showed too much of that game to which I do believe that's a 2019 title.

Off of the PlayStation forums someone linked a sales chart from a NeoGAF banned location. Not sure how credible they are tbh which is why I said if it's wrong i'll admit if I'm wrong lol.

Yea, chartz. They make up numbers. :p

But alas, let's get back to the topic at hand.

--

If Death Stranding shows up without a gameplay reveal, it shouldn't.

If wrong won't be the 1st time or the last time I'm wrong. :)

If they do have gameplay ready they should end the show with it, but I'm very doubtful they will have gameplay ready.

It's an American event. Should Japan cater to the US when I have to get up at 4 in the morning for their shows?

I think that's only the fair thing to do.

I can't even remember if I watched last years E3 live or not. I don't think I did. I think I set my alarm for 2am and when it came to it I decided I preferred beddy-byes.
