Nintendo E3 plans detailed

2017:
- Mario Odyssey blowout
- First proper gameplay and characters from FE Warriors
- Mario + Rabbids reveal
- A few third-party games (maybe in a sizzle reel)
- Pokemon Stars trailer (probably announced beforehand, and then featured in the Direct or Treehouse as ORAS and Sun/Moon were - or it could be a new reveal dropped out of nowhere, who knows)
- Xenoblade 2 first English trailer and release date
- Virtual Console unveiled, first few games available immediately after the presentation, a few more dropped during Treehouse live
- Zelda BOTW DLC Pack 1 shown off during Treehouse, Pack 2 gets a teaser of some sort

2018:
- "One more thing": Smash Bros. Deluxe announced
- Maybe: Retro teaser and/or Fire Emblem Switch teaser
- Maybe Animal Crossing (if it is a spring release, rather than holiday)

This is what I'm expecting.

My main desire is Animal Crossing Switch.

Everything else will just be a cherry on top.

That... seems like exactly what I would predict! The only thing I'd add is Beyond Good and Evil 2 (please Nintendo/Ubi!) and more accessory announcements that tie into VC. We need Gamecube controller support if the GC rumor is true.

With Xeno2 clearly be delayed to 2018 , the arms and Splatoon big focus with he tournaments and the 3ds late life cycle product also with the he revision I wonder how much the Switch outlook will disappoint

They somehow made it even less exciting then last year. Only games coming out this year eh? The same games we've known about for months. Oh and that Rabbids game.

For the millionth time, "focus on" != "only". And how do you know there aren't any unannounced games left for 2017?

Obviously there will be at least a few surprises.

Please stop. It's hard enough to remember all the made up "I'm an insider info" you tried to feed people.

I would be extremely extremely shocked if Animal Crossing isn't shown. The iOS version was supposed to be out by now and they delayed it for a mysterious (
to tie it in and promote it along side the sooner than later Switch version
) reason.

Prepare to be extremely shocked. Animal Crossing is too big a title to come out this year when it's already pretty full of big Nintendo franchises, especially if the heavy rumours of Pokemon and Smash ports coming this year turn out to be true. Wouldn't be surprised if that game didn't come out until Summer 2019 tbh. New Leaf took two years into 3DS life to come out.

Kinda strange they aren't showing any 2018. I mean, there are still things to announce to fill out this year, but its still a bummer. Also 3DS is relegated to Treehouse stream. Thank GOD.

Nobody gives a shit about the WiiU. Everyone is better off pretending like we had a 4-5 year gap of Nintendo consoles after Wii until the Switch.

It was released after the 3DS and it should be powerful enough to run some of the upcoming games for Switch.

I would not be too surprised if Xenoblade was delayed, but you guys need to stop acting like it's a foregone conclusion. They've reiterated 2017 a number of times, many more times than XBX's pre-delay date was stated. It's also a fact that the original Xenoblade came out right on schedule. When you've had one game that hit on time, and one game that was delayed, that's not enough of a sample size to indicate a trend.

Are there a small amount of Microsoft fans on Neogaf? This topic is already bigger than the Microsoft E3 topic and they announced their E3 plans a couple of months ago lol.

This is the first E3 since the Wii U train wreck and Nintendo is on fire again. This year, moreso than other years, could potentially be their best E3 in a decade.
Choo Choo.

Actually, the Switch games they revealed in January is the only games that ever will appear on the Switch. Except for Mario Odyssey, which clearly has been cancelled.

Metroid Prime 3: Corruption was released on August 27, 2007. A successor should be released exactly ten years later. Would be a big surprise. Mario will be fantastic, but we already know that it's coming out this year.

Hope we get more indies shown during Treehouse.

Also I'd like some dates for shit. We still don't know when games like Pocket Rumble, Stardew Valley, Hollow Knight ect... are launching.

Pokémon Stars or Pokémon Switch, it doesn't matter as long as we get some Pokémon love on the Switch.

Gamecube VC on the Switch!

Show me how Skyrim is running on the Switch.

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 love is always nice.

Bring on some Shin Megami Tensei love cause I need some JRPG love.

Ni No Kuni 2 is my wish against wishes just as Kingdom Hearts series ports is.

Want more details on the yearly sub and price.

3rd parties! Come on Down!
Would love a GTAV port. Haven't played that yet.

I know a few things I posted isn't happening. Don't try and bring down my Switch wishes with your anti Switch agenda.

Sounds good! I forgot about BG&E... The list I made is pretty conservative as far as predictions go but it's still enough to IMO put on a good show.

I think FE Switch is 50/50 because that's easily an announcement they could save until a Direct. I would be very surprised if we saw nothing from Retro so I'd probably put my money on that first.

Something I personally hope for is DLC for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe but I don't know if that'd be an E3 announcement what with ARMS and all. Maybe at some point down the line.

Since there is the AC mobile game for the FY too, I think Animal Crossing and Smash Bros. would be a good one-two punch to start 2018.

Wish there was a Mega64 video to accompany this announcement lol. Regardless of that though I'm excited, no one gets me more hyped than Nintendo.

So they changed the name again.

The digital event is the format of comedic interludes and developer interviews, developer interviews being one of the things that killed the 2015 event.

I wonder if the Spotlight will be more like the new direct format, going at 90 km/h and rapidly showing games.

Its always good to dream. Without gaming dreams, our hype levels don't materialize

I'm keeping my expectations as realistic as possible here, but here's what I expect, or at least hope to see.

Super Mario Odyssey - Duh!

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 - English Trailer, and release date

Pikmin 4 - Trailer and release for Autumn this year. Miyamoto said it was close to completion, so it may come sooner than we think.

Rabbids and Mario RPG - I still find the idea absurd, but it sounds real enough apparently. I don't think it'll be published by Nintendo though. It'll just be a Ubisoft game that Nintendo licensed out the characters to I think.

Two Brand New IPs, One from EPD 6 (the 1-2 Switch team) and one from EPD 7 (the Rhythm Heaven team) - This one's more of a personal hope on my part. EPD 6, headed by Kouichi Kawamoto, recently made 1-2 Switch and Miitopia, considering both were released within mere months of each-other, I expect to see something new from them at some point, My guess is some sort of music game. EPD 7, headed by Katsuya Yamano, is primarily known for the WarioWare and Rhythm Heaven series. I would like to see a new game from them as well. Perhaps Ko Takeuchi (WarioWare Character Designer) can Direct a game.

Retro's New game - Whatever it is

Fire Emblem Switch - Early 2018, Trailer, also a trailer and release date for Fire Emblem Warriors too.

Grand Finale: Metroid for Nintendo Switch - Yeah, I know it sounds like a fans wet dream, but I wouldn't expect more than a short gameplay-less teaser. I do think Metroid will make a big comeback soon though.

Don't expect Pokemon Stars (which if it were real, it would not be for the Switch, so give up that pie in the sky dream already), Zelda DLC, Virtual Console, or even online plans, those are non-announcements that can be handled in a later Nintendo Direct. This Nintendo Spotlight should mostly be just games.

I'm a little disappointed with focusing on 2017. I know it's something Nintendo's been doing lately but I was hoping it would change. IMO there's no reason to withhold information about games that are a year and a half away but still decently far into development. I loved how the "megaton January 2013 direct," gave us games to look forward to for the entirety of the Wii U's life.

Seems great though. I'm hyped! This is make or break.
