Nintendo E3 plans detailed

only 2017 games again?

Will this be another year without the retro studio game annoucement or will it release in 2017?

Why do you say "again"? When has Nintendo ever had an E3 and not announced new games coming in the next calendar year?

Of course there will be 2018 games.

My hope for E3 is people know how to correctly spell "Odyssey" after E3.

It's not even all that hard to spell. Now, if it was "Super Mario Labyrinth" that would be more reasonable, that word is impossible to spell.

The words "only 2017" do not appear in this press release. We already know one 2018 Switch title exists, the next Fire Emblem, and there is no way it won't be revealed here. I also guarantee other 2018 releases will be revealed.

Who else hope for a solid Skyrim release date?

That sounds likely. But I'm curious how third parties will be treated during the Digital Event ("Nintendo Spotlight"). Will they announce them with trailers, or even more detailed that that, or just in a reel? Or will all major third party and indies have to wait until the Treehouse?

Personally, I'm more interested in watching things on the Treehouse, since that generally provides much more info than the event.

At E3 2015 Reggie said Nintendo only shows games that are coming out this year, or maybe early the next year. It seemed to me and a lot of us as a blatant lie to disguise the fact that they didn't have many games to release on the Wii U. He said the same thing last year when all they showed was Zelda.

Here's the quote from 2015 after they didn't show anything from BotW:

"It goes back to the statement i made earlier about how we view E3. We just fundamentally don't believe in showing content at E3 that is going to be a long term proposition. We like to show content that typically will launch in the upcoming Holiday and maybe extending into the first half of the following year. And at this point, the new Zelda for Wii U is not a 2015 project."

Exactly. Nobody is expecting Holiday 2018 titles to be shown at E3, just 2018 titles slated to release before E3 2018, which has always been Nintendo's stance.

This quote does nothing but back up that belief (I'm not sure if you mean to be agreeing with me).

I mean, there's a difference between announcing a game launching at a much later date than a game having a relatively soon release date then having unforseen delays.

You're right. I just saw the conversation happening and knew the Reggie quote that I thought was kind of spurring the debate.

A lot of embarrassing posts in this thread, bloody hell.

I don't understand the treehouse hate, you get to properly see in depth what upcoming games are all about. Do people seriously prefer a 60 second CGI trailer?
As for no conference, I can do without it, the MS and EA presentations in particular are complete cringefests, with all their fake whopping and hollering at every unimportant detail.
The Direct style presentations can show the same type of info, announcements etc. but in a format that is less bullshit and more flexible.
This idea that no live conference means "not being at E3" is ridiculous.

I also, don't expect many new announcements for 2017 as the schedule is already filling up but hope for at least one surprise.
I can't wait to see more of SMO and XB2.

I totally agree with you!!

Best thing of Treehouse and Directs, is that you don't have to see a random person playing a game you don't care at all because you have to if you want to see the next announcement; during the Direct, you just see one announcement after another. And if you are interested and have curiousity about a game, you can watch the Treehouse of that game when you want to, and when you need to.

Treehouse broadcasts are awesome!!

Are people seeing the "(" in the title and associating that with a ":(" so they come in expecting to read something negative?

This has been a weird thread man.

Anyway,
StarTropics or bust

It's the opposite for me. The top of the thread looks like "Nintendo E3 plans detailed ( : Page 25"

So all I see is a smiley face :)

What third party game are you guys looking forward to the most?

We've got Skyrim, Mario + Rabbids, Sonic Mania, Monopoly (hehe), Indie games, Sonic Forces.

Skyrim and Mario + Rabbids are the biggest for me. I really want to see Bethesda show some effort and do some nice stuff for Skyrim. It'll look good to the consumers that Bethesda really cares to see Skyrim do well on Switch and not just do a regular port.

Mario + Rabbids of course I want to see what it looks like lol. I'm not a SRPG guy so I'll be cautious. I hope it can pull me in as far as gameplay goes.

I'm not used to seeing smiley faces with the open parentheses ( I guess. Either way it's kinda hilarious that it's still in the title.

Skryim for me, and I'm also definitely curious about Mario x Rabbids. However more than that I'd probably say Beyond Good and Evil 2, which might show up this year.

Also whatever Platinum is working on, and I'm hoping against hope that there will be some Fromsoft game (exclusive or Dark Souls port) announced.

I hope that if Retro is no longer working on DK games, Nintendo won't put them on the back burner and we get a huge drought a la Metroid. DK games are the best so I wouldn't even mind getting a Tropical Freeze port for the Switch.

Skyrim is absolutely my jam. Playing it on the go was the major WOW moment of the reveal trailer and sold the concept fully to me. Hope it is a good version, though portability will make it the best version regardless for me.

Gonna go with Mario X Rabbids, Skyrim, Capcom something, and is it a stretch Suda51 will tease us with something? Hopefully some indie surprises thrown into the mix.

Forgot about Suda. Probably not till Tokyo Game Show 2018. Didn't he basically say "I have ideas" at the Switch reveal?

This so much.

I would like a show longer than an hour, never minding Treehouse and the tournament. :p
My expectations are just to see SMO for now. Everything else will be part of the adventure.
Or should I say odyssey? Eh? Eh?

There will be at least 10 ARMS characters... maybe the last 3 will be revealed at E3.

I'm so pumped for this title. June needs to come already. With ARMS, Mario Kart, and Splatoon 2... I'm pretty set with incredible multi player gaming on the Switch for the rest of the year. And for the rest of the platform's life.

I expect a price on their online service finally... whatever it is, I'll pay for it. I imagine once the online service finally launches then I can't play the above titles unless I pay for it. And I will... happily!

Would "Super Mario Labyrinth" be a rougelike?

The ARMS tournament seems pretty crucial for the game's success. Have new announcements or coincide with a direct. We know there are at least two or so characters missing and I imagine more modes.
Final attempt to drum up attention by showing the game being played competitively
