Street Fighter V PC/PS4 CFN Beta Now LIVE!: All Characters, Cross Play (Online Only)

up kick not having ex is so weird

I think it makes sense; you can still EX on hit, but not on reaction (so it isn't an overpowered reaction anti-air, given it is button-only).

Edit - Also his V-Reversal needs to be kicks to avoid P move overlap, and they probably want to avoid accidental input there.

Omg, downloading now.
If anyone needs a punching bag to try your fancy combos on, hit me up on PC lol. Haven't played since SF4 early days, regrettably.

Could someone post a couple shots of this if they have time?
Here are some images.

Having problems on the PC version. :/ I'm on the menus of the game and if I press the Options button on the DS4 it triggers the battle settings. While that's fine I can't get passed that window. Even if I go to the exit game option it triggers the battle settings window to pop up. I can't even select character cause the window goes away if I press X again. And it does the same on the keyboard if I press Enter. Anyone having these problems? It worked fine last night

Edit: also the options of Casual and ranked are the only available options on the beta right ?

I really, really wanted to get back into this game. But holy shit Capcom, the netcode remains garbage.

I still can't play lagless battles with my long time Canadian friend who I played all of SF4 with.

FFS. The worst $60 I spent on a game. Fuck off Capcom.

are you playing the base game or did you download the free client?

Because Netcode has noticeably improved.

and if so, have you tried the opening of the ports capcom said would help?

SMH. I've been playing this on Vita Remote Play. Through a PS4 that's a floor away. That's using a wireless connection. And it plays fine. Maybe the game's not the problem, eh?

I don't think I've seen it mentioned anywhere that the netcode has improved. Matchmaking and loading have but the actual matches feel the same. I recall PR Rog stating the same on his stream yesterday.

And yes, I'm playing the CFN beta on PS4.

Yes...

Our connections that allow us to play USFIV (PS4) flawlessly but not SFV (PS4). They are the problem.

Or maybe, just maybe... the netcode designed by one dude at Capcom is just not that good.

Who said it was one dude? I'm pretty sure that's a rumour. SFIV netcode was garbage for me and it wasn't even rollback.

IIRC, the man's LinkedIn profile claimed it was one person.

But w/e, it works fine for you. I'm not going to argue against your experiences. Game is in a sorry state for me, it's one of the worst $60 I've spent this gen and I think I'm officially out.

I love Capcom fighters but christ.

This has sold me on the season 2 characters, at least at some point in the future. Didn't really notice any difference in net code though. Still takes a while to find matches.

The netcode wasn't designed by one person. People don't understand the difference betweem netcode, matchmaking, servers, CFN, etc. and lump it all together.

However, CFN was designed by headed by one person until launch. Which, I believe, means Capcom contracted a Korean company with experience in F2P games to design a system to keep track of stats, FM, matchmaking, etc. (all the online stuff that isn't gameplay). My guess is they had a product already and the one guy tailored it to SFV's needs. Regardless, one person implementing these features and changes is ridiculous.

The netcode, Kagemusha, is probably an updated version of their SFxT rollback netcode that was developed in-house.

Well, tried out Ed and Kolin.

Ed was of course a mirror match, down to the wire best of three. I actually quite like his inputs, I can deal with the various motions but this is an interesting step for sure in simplifying things further in what appears to be a positive way. Ultimately the character himself and his overall playstyle doesn't grab me too much but yeah he's otherwise fine.

Kolin was a lot trickier to try and grasp on the fly, but I was really digging her icy attacks, definitely one who may tempt my fight money if I get enough. Ideally I'd just wait until season 2 eventually gets a discount (or a character I REALLY want).

So I'm having a lot of fun with Ed. I'm terrible at the game overall but he's clicking really well with me. Glad I got a chance to test him out before his release.

Anyone know if we get to keep the fight money we make on this beta? My fight money "pool" at the top seems accurate, but I didn't notice if it was building from my wins or not.

This is what I want to know. I did notice that my FM count I started with in the beta was not exactly the same as what I had in regular SFV.

Nothing carries over. No FM and no LP.

At least that's how it was in the previous beta.

Also, I like that those tabs in your CFN profile actually work now.

I dunno bud.. we were playing all night and it had been PRISTINE for us..

The game still doesn't work with technicolour branded routers. I still can't play my friend in the same country. And because of his living arrangements he can't forward any ports. So for over a year now we still can't play the game.

There was something about the announcers voice telling you certain information...where does that happen exactly? Ranked? What does she say?

Is Ed staying around for season pass holders after the beta ends?
Ed, the season 2.5 changes and everything else in the beta will be added to the main game in the form of a patch that will hit sometime in the future. My guess would be mid June.

And if you own the season pass then yes, you get access to Ed when he gets added to the main game.

The connection seems pretty bad for some reason on the PS4 version for me.
I'm wired with 100 mb/s DL, and it's usually fine as long as I play against 4-5 bars on my retail copy, but it's just skipping like crazy on this beta.

I tried the previous beta on PC though, and aside from someone who was on the other side of the world, it was practically flawless.

Anyone have problems with DirectInput controllers on PC? My Hori FC4 just randomly stops working in the menu or after a match. Working fine in normal game.

Two of my friends have had issues with the FC4 in the normal game within the last week. If it's set to PS4 mode, the game runs in slow motion.

Mine is fine in both though.

I've heard it say how many times I've played Ed and how many times I've won. I also think I heard it say my opponent was playing their main character but it was hard to hear so I'm not 100% sure on that one.

Did they change anything graphics wise? I no longer can hold 60 fps on my 970 and I always could do that before this beta.
Did you determine this through displayed analytics or eyeballing it? I have a 970 too and didn't notice anything amiss but I also had some laggier matches after cranking the settings up to mostly max. I wonder if subtle frame rate dips are happening.

It's your connection i played 6433 matches and I would say less than 200 of those had lag in them, heck I've been playing against people on the other side of the world with very minimum lag.
