Nintendo E3 plans detailed

In a just world, Retro would do a 2D Metroid with all the lessons they learned from Tropical Freeze.

In a just world, a studio as supremely talented as Retro would've been expanded to work on multiple titles at a time years ago, and they'd announce a new 3D Metroid and a new 2D Metroid, arriving the same day: November 17th, 2017.

It would be a glorious throwback moment to 15 years before, same date: Nov 17th, 2002, when both Metroid Prime and Metroid Fusion released.

And we are getting that or a new Ip from them, fuck metroid.

We already know a new Metroid Prime is in development according to Tanabe. (Doesnt necessarily mean Retro's working on it)

Tropical Freeze underperformed pretty hard too so they might give DK a rest for now.

As long as Retro is making something 3D, Ill be down. DK or Metroid or otherwise. I just am a bit tired of 2D platformers from Nintendo. DKC:TP is phenominal, and so is Yoshi's WW but there is only so much I can play before I want something more ambitious, and 2D platformers aren't that ambitious.

Sold well based on the Console it released on honestly. Over a million on a 13.5 million install base

Honestly everything under performed.
Even successes like Splatoon.

Do you guys honestly think we could see a teaser of what Sakurai is working on? I doubt it's the next Smash.

Been nearly 3 years since Smash 4 released but they did work on DLC a while and Sakurai wanted to take a break iirc. With Smash 4 coming to Switch potentially I'd say chances are rather low we'll see his newest project, but it's not 0%. It'd definitely be a nice surprise. I doubt that whatever his new project is (besides Smash 4 for Switch) will launch until late 2018 the earliest though, unless he's working on another 3DS game.

Tree house issue is that is hosted by actors rather than real gamers. It's just lame

A lot of embarrassing posts in this thread, bloody hell.

I don't understand the treehouse hate, you get to properly see in depth what upcoming games are all about. Do people seriously prefer a 60 second CGI trailer?
As for no conference, I can do without it, the MS and EA presentations in particular are complete cringefests, with all their fake whopping and hollering at every unimportant detail.
The Direct style presentations can show the same type of info, announcements etc. but in a format that is less bullshit and more flexible.
This idea that no live conference means "not being at E3" is ridiculous.

I also, don't expect many new announcements for 2017 as the schedule is already filling up but hope for at least one surprise.
I can't wait to see more of SMO and XB2.

I'm going to play Devil's Advocate here and take a wild guess and say: an oversaturation of directs throughout the year to a point where when it gets around to E3, people are expecting Nintendo to bring out the super big guns (when more times than naught, the expectation will not be met).

As for the other part of the treehouse, I'm in agreement there of how they aren't really that bad at all, but if I had to guess, you could argue that the treehouse experience is alot longer than any of the other conferences. Mind you that we don't get any moments that make us cringe so hard that our stomachs roll into itself, but imagine how many games get shown off within an hour's time as compared to games during a treehouse. Yeah, you'll get tons of fun details on it, but if it isn't a game you have interest in, that is alot of time being wasted on something you don't really care about and you hope that when it is finally done, the next game will be of higher interest.

FAKE GAMERS ALERT

Nintendo Treehouse is staffed by fake actors employed by Nintendo to make their games look better. DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE.

Thank you.

Pretty much how I feel, but I'd also say: please, not a platformer. Nintendo has enough of them, 2D or 3D. Branch out, do something else.

Bill Trinen is an Actor.

Just watch is Oscar worthy peformence in Tomodachi Life Direct.

And his incredible dedication to roles by eating lots of Donuts in Yokai Watch scene.

Reggie got nothing on Bill

It was such a magical scene too.

You will believe that Bill can eat all of Reggie's donuts and have little remorse over it.

Reggie saids a lot of things.

Its best to assumed nothing is in development.

Hes a PR and marketing guy, sure but "Talk to me in a year and let's look back" is a pretty direct quote. People will hold him to that.

Might be an E3 announcement with early 2018 release.
