Game soundtracks on vinyl | Analogue Gen 33fps

I made the Bayou Billy art! :D
This series is going to rule, definitely dont miss'm!

That's probably why it rules. I know you can't comment on unannounced projects, but have you done the art for all of the releases? I think it'd be awesome if they all matched.

Just for you.

That's hot!
Whats with Game Sack being all weird in the comments?
I noticed that too. No idea what they're even talking about.
Ah, this: http://www.sega-16.com/forum/showth...-Mega-Amp-The-universal-Genesis-audio-circuit. Homebrew amp. Data Discs doesn't need any help.

Yeah. Not only do they come across as rather ignorant, but I'd say that Data Discs has earned a high reputation about caring for technical aspects of their releases (Sound quality, mixing/mastering, pressing quality).

Same.

Joe is just an audio maniac. That's his occupation too. He does sound design stuff for movie theaters.

With all do respect -like i posted sometime earlier in this thread- Data Disc made some mistakes with converting the audio.

Check out the The Revenge Of Shinobi B9 track (called Failure ironically). There is a lot of noise in that one that shouldn't be there (checked it myself on my MD).

It's abit of a weird exchange on twitter, it just went downhill quickly.

Unfortunately Twitter doesn't engender the best of our social graces. I thought Joe could've handled it better, but some ppl are just acerbic like that. Joe is a cranky guy lol.

I also wanted to say hello to everyone and I have finally read all of this thread up to this point, which has helped to build my collection and lighten my wallet haha.

All of this started when I ordered the Death Stranding record only with the intent to hang it up on the wall. Since I liked the songs so much, I ended up ordering the cheapest turntable on Amazon to listen to it. It was one of those built in speaker ones and everything. It didn't sound very well, and even after hooking it up into my sound system, the speakers never really would be 100% mute, so it drove me crazy. I vowed to not tarnish the records and started amassing more records.

I ended up picking up one of the new AT-LP3 turntables a week ago and it was night and day difference. I love the automatic start/stop and sound is glorious!

There's something about the whole ritual of listening to records with taking them out of the sleeves and prepping everything that makes me feel so nostalgic.

And the whole selection of music available just blows my mind. I was so happy to get new and old games on vinyl. Streets of Rage 2, Snatcher, Rez Infinite, etc.

I will try to keep sharing any announcements I find for new records and look forward to all the new releases as they come out! Nice to meet everyone!

Username checks out. Glad to have you aboard! Still haven't spun my DS release yet; looking forward to it though.

Seasons after Fall is doing a preorder for a vinyl release:

Music sounds really nice, might have to pick this up! Game looks good too!

Wow that cover art is really just gorgeous.

Thank goodness you went with a nicer player! Those cheaper tables usually have tracking weights that are way too heavy for poor vinyls :( I am listening to the Death Stranding record right now, getting hyped for E3 this year!

Welcome to the strange and majestic addiction of collecting and listening to Vinyl! Don't let it overtake you :)

Tempted for the 3rd time at a local record shop to buy the Data Disc release of Golden Axe I&II. It would be cool but for $32.99 it makes me stop and realize I really just want Streets of Rage & Super Hang On 😔

Lol, DD's numbered releases are dangerous. They really make you want to catch 'em all.

I'm probably gonna skip Altered Beast and Gunstar Heroes but SOR3 will be mine.

Ship Transistor and Bastion to a UK reseller and you've got two purchases from me, but $80 plus $65 shipping plus import taxes make this one a very unfortunate hell no from me :(

Fuck. I love the Bastion soundtrack, but $40 for a 2xLP is STEEP. That's iam8bit levels of money.

Yeah, and given the cost of the shipping (and the fact that I bought transistor and paid priority shipping prices and the damn thing STILL hasn't shipped almost a week later), I'm going to have to pass.

has mondo announced when the other castlevania vinyls will be released or has that project been moved to a different site?

Mondo's teased both Super Castlevania IV (I seem to remember some art kicking around for that one too), and Symphony of the Night. They've been releasing CV soundtracks every few months, with the latest one, CV3, being rather recent. I would expect at least one more release by the end of this year, maybe both 4 and Symphony.

There's been no word on Bloodlines :(

Yeah, vinyl is the wrong hobby to get into if you live in this country.
Having said that, most places on Discogs seem to have quite reasonable shipping. A mint Sega GMO vol 2 set me back around $50 shipped, which is one hell of a deal considering it came from Japan.

I think it's just a matter of not buying things as soon as they come out, perhaps waiting for local retailers to pick them up. I'd have to guess there'd be a market for selling VGM vinyl here in AU for someone willing to buy almost all releases in bulk (and potentially getting a better deal price-wise from a label).

I'd do that with Data Discs if I had the money!

Yeah, haven't had much like finding any VGM releases locally. I once saw the Trials of the Blood Dragon 2xLP at a JBHIFI I guess :P But seem to have troulbe finding more niche releases.
