At that point, Gianforte grabbed Jacobs by the neck with both hands and slammed him into the ground behind him. Faith, Keith and I watched in disbelief as Gianforte then began punching the man, as he moved on top the reporter and began yelling something to the effect of "I'm sick and tired of this!"

Jacobs scrambled to his knees and said something about his glasses being broken. He asked Faith, Keith and myself for our names. In shock, we did not answer. He then said he wanted the police called and went to leave. Gianforte looked at the three of us and repeatedly apologized. At that point, I told him and Scanlon, who was now present, that we needed a moment. The men then left.

Pretty much. It's important he face repercussions because otherwise violence and intimidation against reporters is going to step up.
 
I'm cool with him not being charged or whatever until two days from now. Elections and all that. They better go after him after the election though.

Why? He did this now. It shouldn't be a political thing, this was obvious and intentional assault.

Seriously the idea that politicians are just permanently immune to criminal charges because it doesn't look fair is insane. No one should be in favor of it.

I mean, to be nonpartisan here, if Anthony Wiener announced his candidacy tomorrow for something, should we ignore that he's a sex offender until he loses said race? Hell no.

Even if nothing comes from this like i suspect this guy is a walking time bomb. It will be easy to get him to blow his top again if a question is what it took for him to body slam someone.
