TEKKEN 7 releases June 2nd (PC/XB1/PS4, Season Pass, Eliza, more details)

I wouldn't worry about netcode in Tekken 7. Tekken Tag 2 was flat out magic with its netcode on PS3 hardware

Okay, so I've been listening to some of the Tekken 7 stage tracks the past few days every now and then, and I can say with the confidence that this is the worst set of stage music in the series thus far.

agreed. praise the jukebox.

Also whole story mode leaked on youtube.

Agreed. But I'm also biased because I generally like my fighting music angry with crunchy guitars and Killer Instinct 2013 came and Mick Gordon took me into nirvana and that ruined fighting game music for me ever since. Nothing after his KI score has come even close to the bone crunching quality I've learned to adore.

I'm liking 7's ost more cuz there is a lot of experimentation and drum and bass. This is an ost you can listen to and someone will think it's from a DJ set or something.

I'm trying to pick stuff out now.

Tekken 7 Dragon's Nest will be subbed out for Tekken 5 Dragon's Nest. It's just how I remember that stage.

Claudo's castle/church stage music will be replaced with Tekken 5's Cathedral music or Tekken 6's Gargoyle's Perch music

Tekken 7 Arena music will be swapped for TTT2 Arena music

It fits an opera house or some dusty field.

I could have sworn this stage and music was gonna be in 7.

What? This seems like such a strange way to classify music.

Exactly my problem with it. That type of music is rare in that it's one of the few types that I don't listen to.

I'm still waffling between PC and PS4 version

I feel like the PC and population thing is a self-fulfilling prophecy.
if you are leaning towards PC, i don't think you have anything to worry about, honestly. just because most people will play this on Ps4 does not mean 0 people will play this on PC

plenty of people on GAF and Zaibatsu said they'll get it on PC; and that's just hardcore gaming forums. there'll be plenty of people outside of that who will get it too
There is a stream happening at launch IIRC. Will possibly get info there or data mined stuff.
aaaight. i don't know how season passes work, so do they not tell you what all the content is sometimes until after launch?

Yeah, it would be baffling if they screwed up their netcode after TT2 and Revolution both on PS3 were pretty goddamn buttery smooth. One of the cleanest online experiences I've had with a fighting game.

Less than 5 days left! Hope this is a fast week.

It blows my mind how they went from one of the worst netcodes in fighting games (Tekken 6) to one of the best (TTT2).

Some of Yoshimitsu customizations. There is potential for DLC Customization options tbh.

Damn it, all I want is the hat and trousers to make him look similar to his Tekken 2 appearance. I managed to get partway there in TTT2, but it wasn't quite enough.

Someone was asking if Moonlight Wilderness from T5 and the Tag 2 version are in the game and yeah they're both in the game. They actually showed them on the Tekken Talk a few weeks ago. I'm going through it again right now and they're seen.

You don't need to worry about the game's netcode because it was entirely designed around it. Even when you play offline the game acts like a LAN.

Remember the arcade game is played online in Japan and Korea.

Those countries have sexcellent internet though.

It's not always perfect, there are instances of lag. Not as much anymore, at launch for Vanilla and especially FR, the lag was fucking horrible.

Also arcade version crashes and reboots every now and then, if it weren't for nice arcade operators, you'd always be out of money when that happens.

The netplay focus is why the game is easier on inputs as well.

Why is this game being heralded as the biggest Tekken release since Tekken 3? Like what is it about this game? What happened?

It's a great game and even better than Tag 2 (well once the game became FR which is what the console version is based on).

As for what you're hearing, people are probably just hungry for a 3D Fighter.

Every game is a 2D Fighter nowadays.

Double-dipping on this.

Went for it digitally on PS4 from J-PSN. The game unlocks for play Wednesday evening that way.
