Sony E3 Conference confirmed for usual time (Monday 6pm PT)

I'm very confident to see a trailer, even a CGI.

It won't show up. CDPR is pretty focused on doing one game at a time, and even if it did it would definitely be at Microsoft's conference. The Witcher 3's marketing was done by MS, so's Gwent. I think they've just got a deal going with CDPR.

I agree, it actually makes more sense for them to stick with MS since the game is huge in both Xbox and PC.

CDPR said that they wanted to do a Fallout 4 type announcement, announce the game close to the release date and do a short but intense marketing spree.

Ha ha ha… I know as much as any other person, so I just patiently wait. However, Adam has clearly stated during one of the conferences, that the period between the release date announcement and the launch itself may be very short. Creating a short – lets say 6 month – but intensive marketing campaign is a hard to achieve ideal. Only well respected companies that have appropriate financial resources can pull it off. It’s sort of a communication blitzkrieg. You have to be well prepared, but you can win a lot.

There's one guy who more or less keynotes Sony's E3 press conferences who just rubs me the wrong way. I don't remember his name but 2 years go he went on and on about Vib-Ribbon and then they showed a completely different game. He seems out of place at E3 and has a Mitt Romney-esque style going on.

I think that one guy you're mentioning is the President of SCE America, Shawn Layden :P

This would make the show for me. The rest of it could just be all the things you'd guess would be there, so long as DD2 is there and fixes the flaws the original had. (Boring color scheme, boring party members.)

You mean Shawn Layden? He is the President and CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment America. Dude is actually a pretty cool guy, and very personable. I think he got off to a rough start trying too hard to be likeable, instead of being himself. He was replacing a legend in Jack Tretton, and Sony fans loved Jack, so I think he was trying to present a persona, instead of his own persona. Last year he did a much better job of being Shawn Layden and not Jack Tretton or Phil Spencer, and I think a lot of Sony fans have started to like him more and more.

He is a really smart business guy, and he knows what he is doing. I think he got off to a tough start for his first E3. Give him a another shot this year!

Shawn has been way better since that first year. He learned his lesson fairly quickly.

Who was actually fine during last E3 / PSX. Think he's gotten a lot better as time went on.

I think his worst moment was PSX 2015. When they showed Uncharted 4, and he was like, "if this is what we're opening with, think of what else we're going to have", combined with a Crash shirt and ending with Paragon, even though his E3 2014 segment was more boring.

Yep that's the guy. I didn't watch all of last year's Sony E3 press conference so I can't recall how he came across then. Glad to hear he is more natural now.

Shawn is good people. His condolences to the victims of Orlando shooting was somber and on point last year. He is also the one who must have signed off on spending the money for the whole shabang they put up last year at E3. Also, he pretty much stopped trolling with those T-shirts.

For some reason I didn't expect Shenmue to appear. I figured they'd focus on development and it seems they'd rather do a full reveal when it close to completion.

I got to hand it to him for the speech regarding the Orlando shooting. He handled it great and earned a lot of respect from me. He's become really good at presenting, so I definitely look forward to him opening/closing E3 this time too.

Shawn is cool now. Dude's the reason some of the ps classics I perticulaly wanted to be revived in any fashion, revived.

Oh that reminds me.

*Goes on to Twitter.*

Shawn is great!

Yeah, he replaced the Jack, so there was lots of pressure.

But watching back on Jack stuff, Jack can be really really REALLY stiff.

Shawn is much more personable.

For as much shit the pawns got, I really grew to love mine. Growing alongside a constant companion and guiding their growth really made each playthrough with Stella, my warrior, made that game more memorable.

I hope they keep that mechanic, at the very least.

Someone said they have a new trailer ready before PSX, and it was a no show. They could at least throw a bone for people who are anxious regarding the development of a game which is supposed to release in 2017.

More time for Destiny 2 I guess...

We might get a bone in the form of Shenmue 1+2 HD.

I honestly expect Sega to do the dumbest thing when it comes to Shenmue HD. Like, the first two games are on Xbox, the third game is so far announced for PS4 and PC only, so naturally Shenmue HD will be Switch exclusive.

I want Kaz Hirai to come back, even though that'll never happen.

He should be in LA, trying to fix Sony Pictures, so maybe he shows up chilling in the audience like E3 2013.

I can't wait to see their conference especially after the show they put on last year. I can't see them going back to a traditional press conference. I wouldn't be surprised if they did though, but last year was kinda magical. I'd like for them to get any business talk out of the way before or after the conference. Just showing game on games was the best.
