Some brief information, since it's just a "rumor" from a supposed notorious and accurate "leaker".
--Ancient Aztec/Mayan/tribal aesthetic.
--Emphasis on hand-to-hand combat techniques and "martial art styles".
--Traditional melee weapons still in (i.e. clubs), but they won't have a major focus; weapon-based movesets are gone.
--Instead, players will customize and personalize their hand-to-hand movesets and fighting styles, there is customization for weapon fighting styles as well, however. (This kinda-sorta sounds like Nioh to me, with the weapon skill trees and such, just my personal opinion).
--Is the "Souls-like, dark fantasy, familiar" game Miyazaki mentioned when interviewed about the future of From Software. Armored Core and a "strange for From Software" game were the other 2 mentioned.
--Collaboration between Sony Japan and From Software (it's the Sony exclusive title).
Take with a pinch of salt, since, I mean...people on the internet like to make shit up (especially with E3 being so close).

The rumors about From's new game is interesting. Because it could very well be Mizayaki's weird game that he talked about.

A digital only PS4 would be kinda smart for Sony. The revenue they get from psn is already insane. This would only in ice more people to go digital.
 
No idea how realistic the rumor of a portable ps4 are but it does intrigue me. I asked earlier in the thread but thought I'd ask again:


I have a question since people are still speculating about a new PS Portable for PS4 games. I know there's no mobile hardware available to replicate the actual power of a PS4, but what if they lowered the resolution? Instead of supporting 1920x1080, maybe a screen resolution of 960x540, or 960x544 like the Vita?

Sure it would require patches for existing games to support the lower resolution, but my question is does the mobile hardware exist to theoretically run base PS4-level games at 1/4 the overall amount of pixels?
 
Hmmm.... Sounds like this rumored portable (that can play your digital PS4 games) will be Sony's answer to Switch and MS's Play Anywhere.
 
Actually, another question on top of my other one above. Say they patched base ps4 games to run at 1/4 their normal resolution or some other random lower resolution, could they implement something like checkerboard rendering to add some of that detail back? I mean AFAIK the ps4 pro has built in hardware for "free" checkerboard rendering, so could the same thing be done here so the portable could have a 1080p screen?

If what you're asking is whether it's possible for the PS4 architecture to be scaled down, sort of like the opposite of what the Pro is, and be portable, the answer is probably no. AMD never designed for it to be portable so there are a number of issues that would make it tremendously difficult, but I suppose only AMD can really answer whether its completely impossible or not. X86 in general is a pretty big power hog. Furthermore, if every game out would have to be patched, I don't really see the point. If Sony is really determined to stay in the hand held market, it may well be better to just use some ARM processor and work on having developer tools that make it easy to port between them, sort of like what MS was touting with DX but seems to have not focused on as much since Windows Mobile died. However, I doubt they'll try that either.

Sony tried and failed with PSP go. They might try again, who knows. I'm giving it a 15% chance.
 
Hmm. The Fromsoft rumor is interesting, but I'm not exactly super-hyped until I see something on it. I mean, if it were true, I would need to see how they implement the martial arts fighting.

The Aztec setting coud be cool, as there is a lot of potential for dark and mysterious shit there.

I believe none of the rumors, and isn't excited about anything FROM Software or Platinum Games.

Just announce a name for the Spider-Man game, and maybe give us a release date. I have no idea what else I'm looking forward from Sony really.

I mean, hes trynna sell the thing. He's essentially part of the marketing push.

But just like most japanese devs, he doesnt understand that revealing your game too early kills the excitement for most people.

Like, i think im good if i dont even hear about death stranding for the next 3 years at this point
