TEKKEN 7 releases June 2nd (PC/XB1/PS4, Season Pass, Eliza, more details)

On the subject of roster size; it's not some big nefarious secret that it's been reduced, they've said it would be smaller because they want the game to be easier for newcomers. This isn't a decision made in a vacuum either, it's based on feedback from Tag 2. Do you have to like the decision? No, of course not, but they've been open about it.

3. Is there any info on how PS3 legacy stick connectivity will work? Is it like MKX/SFV where you have to map the stick to a Dual Shock 4 or is it like SkullGirls/GGXrd where it's just plug and play? (Please be like GGXrdRev)

You could see this message pop up on the Combo Breaker stream, don't think I saw any of them mess with a controller, but I'm not 100% sure: https://youtu.be/ib0zDh4RBXk?t=64

Apparently patch 1.01 for PS4 is online. 583.6MB. Improved loading times, less framedrops in loading screens on regular PS4 and also the addition of double elimination in online tournament settings.

Don't think that's the Day 1 patch Harada was mentioning though but it is a patch.

I think some of it is Street Fighter V people looking to get vindicated. They were gossping about this thread in their OT.

Really?

That's lame tbh. That's some high school shit.

There is rational and sensible discussion and criticism happening here. No need for this.

I don't see that. What I see are people still hung up over the exclusion of their favorite character, and some judging the netcode and loading times of an unreleased game scheduled to have a day one patch. The criticism made - as far as I am concerned - is unreasonable.

http://www.ign.com/articles/2017/04/27/your-tekken-7-questions-have-been-answered

A yes or no answer at the end would greatly help Harada for the "Will Jaycee or Julia or any characters with similar move lists be available? Some of us who have been playing these characters since the Michelle days feel a little forgotten." part.

"Classic Characters will not be charged."

Does this mean they will be free DLC? Does this mean they aren't coming?

What is in the season pass? So confusing.

you can check the original order email they sent you after you bought it...see if there's a "Download" link in it that leads to a code

other than that I have no idea

The download button is there but it just leads to nothing
Says will be out closer to release

Will check then

oh there's another patch on top of that one?

The last Tekken I played heavily was Tekken 5. Does anyone know off-hand what are the biggest changes to Tekken's fighting mechanics in 7 vs 5? Is it mainly just OTG combos, rage, and super moves?

I see Tekken 7 and think I can slip right back into it, but I didn't want to come in with the wrong mindset. My mains in Tekken 5 were Raven and Wang Jinrei. I'm really excited for Master Raven, but am a little sad that Wang didn't make the cut. I'm up for learning new characters though.

It's likely not in their plans right now that's all. All they're focused on now is releasing this game and support the launch so it goes smoothly

Few questions:

2. When Playing online do you have the ability to choose your side or is it already chosen for you?

3. Is there any info on how PS3 legacy stick connectivity will work? Is it like MKX/SFV where you have to map the stick to a Dual Shock 4 or is it like SkullGirls/GGXrd where it's just plug and play? (Please be like GGXrdRev)

2) Yes

3) The TEKKEN Project Team put together their own legacy controller support. It will support via plug in play within the software.

TTT2 had Ancient Ogre, Angel, Kunimitsu and Michelle Chang available to play on launch if you preordered them but then shortly after they were available free for all other players. Dr. B, Miharu, Sebastian, Slim Bob, Violet and Unknown were available free afterwards too with some extra stuff like extra stages, customization, modes and etc.

That's TTT2, the game Harada said they had to stop supporting after 2 months due to no DLC budget.

Now for T7 they do have a DLC budget, they said that with this they can do more free updates and support the game for a least a year longer than TTT2 and it's 2 months so yeah...this game is getting support beyond release. Definitely. He's constantly commenting on TTT2's post-release situation and that game wasn't horrible post-release.

I don't think anything that will take much adjustment for you to pick up. Changes to how combos work in terms of juggle / wall mechanics slightly (but you were probably going to relearn your combos anyway given how long it has been) and tweaks to wakeup options to make them safer overall. The Rage mechanics will mostly be the big new stuff, along with whatever new moves Master Raven has compared to Raven (or any other legacy characters you pick back up).

Armor moves and screw attacks that spin your opponent to extend combos
That's mostly it i guess
There's floor and wall breaks too can't remember if 5 had those or not. 4 did have walls

So there's going to be a Day 1 Gaf Noob Tournament right?
Alot of people are gonna sneak in to fight us scrubs
yeah...just keep an eye on that link since that's where the code will be once they give it to you
Thanks
Will do

Totally aware of the season pass budget and what not and Murray mentioning something of the sort. I just wish there was a timeline.

You asked for SarusGray's bullet points to be posted as an official summary for the OT. I don't think that is sensible.

It was a comment on the content but no where was it disrespectful or attacking any individual.

Really?

That's lame tbh. That's some high school shit.

Nah, they only quipped a little bit about the Arcade mode and MvC:I roster rumor.
There's enough gripe about SFV going around in there too, so I don't think it's a circle jerk you would imagine. Currently the new patch is out and servers are like offline for a day, so right now it's more general talk about that stuff.

At least it doesn't look lacking like Pokken in terms of content or support.
So is there any word about content getting added outside of DLC?

Personally, I don't know why SFV is even being brought up as a comparison at all in this situation. If the scale is SFV to IJ2, at this game is still looking far, far above SFV at launch. SFV created a new floor for FG releases and IJ2 raised the bar in almost a year apart. Given how much of a different beast game development is these days, let alone for a fighter, I do want to see how this season pass turns out.

lmao @ gossiping on a message board.

The "SF5 people" in that thread are talking about how it's silly that this is being compared to SF5 at all. It's obviously got way more content.

Can't say anything about McCarter.

Yeah judging TTT2 and Harada and Murray's comments, we're getting some stuff but it hasn't been said or "officially confirmed" yet so we'll have to wait until they officially announce it.

As for that MVCI news, geez. No comments.

They can gossip as much as they want, it still has more content than SFV at launch.

The content known so far might not be to peoples liking but there's plenty to it as it is right now.

Edit Ah I see so nothing of the sort even happened then and yes the comparisons are silly.
I still play SFV and enjoy the game and the same will happen for Tekken. Let's just enjoy both and not shit talk.

Still sad to see fighting game communities always bringing down or wanting other fighters to fail. Rising tide raises all ships, even though I'm not a Tekken guy I still have high hopes and will be there day 1 to support it.

I want all fighting games to succeed. Even Battle Fantasia.

Is there a list of content and modes

Is there a list of content and modes

Modes:
A Story mode focusing primarily on the Mishima's.
- Treasure battle mode
- Arcade mode
- Online Mode
- Versus.
- Practice
- Character Episodes
- Gallery mode with videos from previous Tekken games
- Jukebox for PS4 version

You can't really blame the SFV OT for gossiping about Tekken 7.
It's not like we have anything better to do during the current 24 hours of server maintenance that Capcom is carrying out.

But nobody in the SFV OT that I have seen wants Tekken to fail.

You'll be fine. Every tekken since 5 has been based on the fundamentals of that game. Combos are different and there are some added superfluous changes like rage and super moves but no unique changes such as multiple stances per character, stamina management, focus moves, etc.

Please. It was about using what was going on in this thread to paint the casual audience, the same audience that originally took issue with SFV, as frivolous and crazy. As if Tekken was surely going to get the same ratings on Amazon and Steam as SFV for a few missteps. You even had sixteen bit walk up in here and go "sfv backlash incoming?"

Pretty rich considering your thread is a constant dumpster fire of complaints.

can we not start random drama in this thread?
