Hey guys!
I have a TE2 Xbox One fight stick (KI) and a TE Xbox 360 (SFIV) fight stick.
If I buy two Brooks Xbox 360 / Xbox ONE to PS4 Super-Converter I should be fine on PS4 right? Or is there any drawback compared to the single converters?
Or should I get the Cronusmax?
important mod
Not a stick, but the Hori Xbox One/360/PC fighting commander came in from Amazon.
I'll give it a go with SFV on PC later. I imagine it won't be anything too different in feel from the PS4 one.
Nice. Looking forward to impressions.
i'm using a 309mj and i'm having a horrible fucking time with double tap diagonals (233 and 833)
gonna let it ride for a while but first impressions are not positive for VF
Too much leeway in feeling the diagonals or what? I know playing VF with an octagonal gate is REALLY weird and feels incredibly wrong for a while, but eventually you can kind of do it. It still doesn't compare to the awesome notches of a square, though.
It kind of makes me wish there were a quick and easy way to switch between octo and square for different games. I'd be fine with a little slider or something to swap, but opening it up, unscrewing, screwing, closing up just to go between games is not something I want to do.
It's just harder to get clean inputs: i go for 3, and I get 63 for example. so 33 is hard, and Akira's gbod is hard because the directional input is 34323646, generally going directly to 3 from anywhere but 2 or 6 is difficult.
on the flip side, from crouch moves are way way easier. so lau's 2_3P, kage's 2_6K, are basically idiot proof. you barely have to try and they work everytime.
Also evade dash cancels are easy as hell, and you can do them super fast. 266G. 866G. but crouch dash cancelling... much more difficult.
So it's too bad that's way more important.
The only oddity is that the upper shoulder buttons are pretty uncomfortable to try and reach with your index finger. The way I naturally grip it, my fingers rest over the lower/bigger of the shoulder buttons, and it's awkward to raise your fingers up to reach them. They seem too high up to easily reach quickly. It's kind of how your fingers would rest naturally on an Xbox controller's triggers, but you can easily shift them up to the triggers, except here they're too high up so you can't shift them up as easily. It's almost like I have to un-grip the controller to move my fingers up to hit them. If I keep my grip and just move up my fingers, they hit their max about right between the buttons. It's bizarre. I don't know if finger length matters, as it seems more due to the placement of the buttons vertically and the angle it's designed to be gripped. It kinda takes away from the point of having the extra buttons. That could be a huge negative.
Idk why but I just pre-ordered Hori's Tekken 7 stick for PS4. Watching a few videos of the SCV stick they put out last gen (which seems to be the same body) pushed me over.
This'll be my first non-vewlix layout stick, so hopefully it doesn't take too long to adjust to that or the Hayabusa parts. Pretty excited to try this thing out since I've been strictly vewlix+sanwa for the past 8 years.
I'd have to dig up the review I posted here about that controller, but I had the exact same issue with the shoulder buttons. It's actually why I recommended the other one that they apparently now have discontinued; on that pad my fingers naturally rested between the shoulder buttons rather than on one set or the other and I had no issues with them. With the newer symmetrical design my fingers naturally rested on the lower shoulder buttons and the higher ones weren't as comfortable to reach.
Prepare for the Superior Layout

Think I might have to bust out my SC5 case and update the stick and buttons.
Oh hey, one of your posts is actually what came up when I was searching for art mods of the SC5 stick to see what it could look like lol.
One question: do you remember which plexi you used for that? Was it 1/32" or 1/16"? Seems like I have to choose between bending/warping with the 1/32, or a more raised (probably sharp) edge with 1/16. Wondering which you went with and if you had any complaints.
Double post. I just updated my PS360 to the latest driver, but the force PS3 mode for BC doesn't seem to be working on PS4. Anybody have experience with this?
there's a new driver past 1.66? Well at least in xrd the game auto detects my ps360+ as a legacy controller so idk. Ive never really had tot use the force ps3 mode unless im doing something on PC and then it usually works fine with the w/e the button press is.
No, I just installed 1.66. I haven't used it in literally years.
It works fine on PS3. Don't have a 360 handy to check.
It's not automatically recognizing it in Rev2, and the button combos aren't doing anything.
Weird...the legacy controller thing popped up really quick in Rev2, but then went away like it was disconnected. Can't get it to pop up again.
legacy controller on rev2 doesnt really work unless you have a ps4 pad/controller also connected. Or at least thats how it is from my experience
Marvelous finally wrapped up my all-button stick today. Only snapped one shot of it just before packing it in the box but I'm glad it is finally on the way:
When did you place your order?
Any recommends for a fight stick that is more on the affordable cheap point of entry side.
I'm not that great at fighters and it seems like a big investment for an uncertain thing(whether I have the patience or ability to get better).
I recalled the alpha stick for 129.99 canadian, did that turn out any good?
I wanna say on the 6th or 7th.
Might not be the right thread to ask this is, but does anyone have any experience using a TE fight stick with MAME? My stick works perfectly fine with everything, but MAME just doesn't seem to recognize the stick. First time messing with MAME as want to try out a few SNK classics before maybe purchasing them (already got Last Blade 2 on PSN yesterday) and it's kind of been a headache so far.
Yeah I've been trying to do just that, but it simply doesn't recognize stick movements / buttons when setting up the controls.if its the mame rr emulator you gotta make sure you set the controls specifically for the game in the menu after you load it. like this. If that doesnt work I'm not sure what the issue is
Look up the Qanba Drone . At that price point I think that is the best one...Any recommends for a fight stick that is more on the affordable cheap point of entry side.

The Hori Real Arcade Pro is about 150 USD, I would go with that.Any recommends for a fight stick that is more on the affordable cheap point of entry side.

Is that the Doraemon/Akira mash-up? Looking good!Well, I've always wanted to customize a stick, and I finally did it.

There really aren't any good "entry level" (sub $100) options out there huh? I would say try the Hori Fighting Stick Mini, but that's not really representative of a "real" arcade stick, and real arcade sticks are $150+ which is way too much to pay for a trial.
My first foray into Japanese style arcade sticks was the Hori Fighting Stick EX, and I still love it, despite the criticisms from the arcade stick elite. It's a great middle ground. Like a real arcade stick, but cheap. You get to literally feel it out, and then decide if you want to blow the big bucks on a HRAP, and you do IF sticks are your bag.
Have you considered the entry-level Qanbas?
Isn't the Venom stick a pretty decent entry level stick? You can probably get one for around 80 bucks and then mod in a JFL stick and some Sanwa buttons if you want to move up.
Ahh, didn't know that. They're only sold in Europe, IIRC. Probably would take the cost up into HRAP-region once you start to factor in shipping and the like.
No. Are there any? I don't need any, since I'm neck deep in sticks already, but the dude was asking about entry level sticks, so is there a decent knock-off stick from Qanba he should check out?
DERP: I see you mentioned the Drone. Looks OK. I always had half an eye on the Carbon, but that looks out of stock at the moment. I guess the recommendation is keep an eye out for cheap Qanbas. That should be the 3rd thread title.
i can name 2 of these characters
Oooooh how is it how is iti can name 2 of these characters

Got mine in a few hours ago. Won't be able to play on it until I get home later today.
