I agree. I would of thought something would of leaked, perhaps not a ton, but at least something. I am kind of glad things are locked down, but we have a lot of time between now and the 11th. What I am more surprised is that we have not seen a leak image of what Scorpio looks like or what the official name is. I am sure MS has some serious NDA's in place, so that can be one reason. I am trying to stay leak free, but I am sure they will come and it will be hard not to click on them...especially Friday & Saturday before the MS presser.
It doesn't bother me as I just buy all the consoles and games I want.
Only thing that annoys me is leaving good IPs sitting. Conker, Banjo, Perfect Dark, MechWarrior, etc.

To be fair, the game got announced in 2014 with a cg trailer, in 2015 they showed the demo and announced 2016 for the multiplayer with the single player arriving at a later date, and last year they realized that was an stupid idea and said the mp part was ready, but that they would push everything back to deliver the sp at the same time.
Nothing is guaranteed of course but it doesn't look like they are going to delay it again.

I have an XBox One, and owned a 360 and OG XBox as well. It's my preferred place to play games due to Live, backwards compatibility, and my friends being there. I want it to succeed (as do a lot of people on GAF).
That doesn't change the fact that they need to find a way to increase the variety of their exclusives.

Fable is the dormant IP that annoys me the most. It sold well, it was well recieved by critics (yes, even Fable III) and it provided a good counter balance to Xbox' other three main franchises. The mismanagement of Lionhead is MS' biggest first party mistake this gen imo.
Banjo-Kazooie and Perfect Dark also deserves a second chance, but the way Fable was handled this gen was just so dumb. Ugh.

I think you're dismissing general interest and concern for the Xbox brand because you think it's mere trolling. People have fond memories of playing great games on the original Xbox and the 360, and the hand wringing you see is because they feel disappointed that they can't replicate that with the latest console, especially as Scorpio approaches.
There will always be some amount of anti-XBox fanboys, obviously, but everyone I've seen posting in this thread seems to be critical because of how much they care.

Probably. Considering how many billions of dollars microsoft has they can afford to take a loss on Scorpio. Take a loss on hardware, make it up with software. We've yet to see Phil's huge first party investments after all

Their NDA's, especially since they began releasing the Surface line of products has become ninja level. No surprise really we haven't seen anything. I'd wager if there are any leaks it will be hours before the event.

They're not stupid. $499 is the absolute max. $399 is the right price. $349 is a pipedream in my opinion.
If they announce a $349 price, I will be the dude in the crowd jumping around when they pan the camera.
Also I still expect them to give the 500 people attending the FanFest one for free because why not?

MS needs to do a true sequel to Shadowrun. Full on dark RPG with choices and insane graphics. Or id like to see Fable 4 or a KOTOR sequel. Not really interested in forza, gears, ori, cup head. Crackdown looks ok, sea of thieves gives me motion sickness, and state of decay might be ok.

Well last year the entire conference leaked online. But that was the day before. Same thing happened with the Surface laptop.

I missed seeing that leak last year and I was on Gaf a lot and not sure how I missed it. But I was glad I did as the S and Scorpio was a big WOW for me. I hope the same happens and I don't see a leak before. I may try to avoid Gaf on Saturday all together just to make sure...but not sure if I can do that if my laptop is within range.
I'm gonna try do the same. I was on GAF at the time of E3 last year and basically everything leaked, kinda took away some of the fun for me. Gonna try to avoid as many leaks as possible, I think it's not a case of if but when for MS' E3 conference.

Sure they do. Supply is a response to demand. If fans don't demand new IP and experiences, Microsoft won't supply them.
The Sony hardcore understand this really well and look at what they've gotten out of it. It's not enough to be placated by a Phil Spencer tweet. It's nice that he "would like" a lot of things fans suggest, but Xbox fans have a horrible habit of letting that just be enough.

Those IPs are all either dead or multiplatform. So much for exclusivity.
There's absolutely nothing stopping Microsoft from heavily investing in first and third party games. Sony is doing it just fine.

e3 conference is in less than two weeks yet I feel like the negativity towards Xbox is at an all time high.

More importantly, E3 2015 was a big turning point for me, when ReCore was propped up as a major new IP announcement from Xbox... which turns out to be from relatively small studio compared to the traditional AAA heavyweights.
And this gen has also been the generation where we see more and more traditionally first-party associated publishers splinter out and are broadening the scope of their partnerships In other words, the days where we could reliably assume that "external studio X/Y/Z" are definitely making first-party exclusive "A/B/C" is going away.
Another factor, which ties in to games of ReCore's ilk, is "which studio are AAA-tier" in terms of having the internal talent, experience, pipeline and resources to make a AAA game on par with a full-sized 200+ person first-party AAA studio?
Not that many.
The example I'd like to use was... last-gen I would had guessed that a talented studio like RAD which has the headcount could have comfortably made a AAA transition given time-and-money...
Order was a beautiful game. But the game's lack of content and depth showed a stark reality of a developer that wasn't ready to make that leap, even with 5 years.

I'm excited for the conference too, but the negativity right now is not confined to GAF. A lot of the gaming press is saying Xbox needs a big new exclusive too.
I'm not sure they NEED anything, but a big hit like The Last of Us or Horizon Zero Dawn would go a long ways. Sony is clearly out in front right now in terms of sales and quality of exclusives.

I am pretty hype tbh, really wanna see what they been holding back on SoT and CD3 and especially SoD2. Really looking to finding out the final deets about Scorpio and whatever secrets they have kept.
Still keeping expectations in check, but I think MS will come out with a strong conference. We'll see.

As someone who thought Sony's E3 2013 was massively overrated, but still defended the fact that they only showed one new exclusive there, this was what I thought:
"Conferences and announcements must be taken in with a broader context of what is shown over a window of time. This is what Nintendo did before anyone else."
E3 2013 was a massive letdown from a Sony first-party announcement perspective.
But '2013' as a whole?
These were all the first-party AAA new IP announcements from Sony throughout the entirety of 2013, as they were spread out across 2-3 events Sony held throughout the year.

Not all IPs are alive, yes, but Ms always find more IPs and deliver great games.
And most people that says Ms is not investing in first party usually compares the entire PS4 lineup to show that (and for some reason ignores the console only games xbox receives). It is perfect? No. Like I said, Japanese games are indeed an huge gap in the lineup right now and they definitely should address that top priority, but Ms has been consistently pushing great games every year, even if they tend to overcrowd them in last months.

I also recall xbox fans downplaying ps4's technical superiority - remember those 'games matter, not resolution' and 'can't tell the difference between sub native resolution and native resolution' posts? - and being quite content to play the technically inferior games for more than 3 years now shouting from the rooftops how scorpio will be a game changer because of 'true 4k' compared to the ps4 pro's 'fake 4k'. Don't know how many even own 4k tv's, lol.

I'm sure that there people with that sentiment but I doubt they were the majority. I did expected xbone to do better thinking that the low latency of esram could make a difference (and to be fair, some Ms games like Gow4 sounds like magic what they pulled off on xbone), but it soon became clear that performance was xbone's Achilles heel.
Coming from 360 which used to be the best console by far I would've probably switched to a Ps4 if Ms didn't have an amazing lineup this gen right of the bat, the controller and xbox live and the console improving in spades regarding features and services.
