[RUMOR] Marvel vs Capcom Infinite roster leaked

True in regards to the backgrounds and models. But MVCI looks fucking ugly. Like not far off from looking like a phone game. Celshading would have helped a lot. In fact, in one of the threads someone did mock-ups with cel shading effects and the game looked infinitely (lol) better.

Yeah alot of it looks bad. There are moments though where some characters look really damn good, notably Captain Marvel. The marvel characters in general look pretty good so far.

I still can't get over the fact that they put the likes Firebrand over Vergil. Who the HELLL thought that was a good idea? Silly me, thinking they would put Nero, Dante and Vergil all for the get-go.

Same with the oddities in Marvel's list. Gamora? lack of Spidey villains AGAIN, no Dormmamu? Such crap.

This thread is purely about the roster that is in MvCI. A majority of people that played MvC2 and that will play MvCI will not be impacted by broken characters. A majority of people played MvC2 with the fondest memories of a large roster of diverse characters from the Marvel and Capcom universe.

The majority being the ones unlikely to play after the first week?

Injustice 2 is a game that heavily appeals to casual fighting game fans, far moreso than MVCI ever will, and it's online environment pretty immediately devolved into early perceived top tiers. In literally hundreds of online match-ups, I have yet to encounter a good number of the roster.

MvC:I is going to be worse for this. A higher number of people will be competitive by nature. Had MVC2 existed at a time where the online environment is the fundamental basis for the game, you would have seen it then.

What are you even talking about? Do you think MvC2 was a game that was quickly forgotten? You think it was only tournament players that kept playing? Like, is this really your perception of how people played MvC2?

And you think online multiplayer won't help with this further? I can tell you from my extensive playing of Tekken online, there are always newbie players to play online that aren't dropping the game after a week.

He's actually right, competitive play kept that game going much longer than it's natural lifespan. People only used like 8 characters, more than half the roster was considered worthless even by those that played casually like me.

I'm saying that if Marvel 2 were an online game released in this environment, you would quickly find most of the cast isn't played. There's absolutely nothing Marvel vs Capcom Infinite coud do for that not to happen here.

Thinking about it, say what you will about other aspects of MvC3, it's roster was kinda great. Whoever was in charge there knew what they were doing, mixture of popular characters both mainstream & insider, MvC2 throwbacks, a few oddball out of left field choices. It's kinda funny how several characters who showed up there first have become way better known because of their movies since: Rocket Raccoon, Dr. Strange, Deadpool, X-23. And of course two of those aren't even showing up here.

That's the real disappoint, after such an amazing job picking characters in MvC3 and UMvC3 this roster feels incredibly weak.

And you think that this gutted roster built to push the MCU is going to help with this? Again, the whole point of that picture is that the character roster of MvC2 was great. Sometimes people just want Ryu and Wolverine to fight each other.

The type of consumer you're talking about isn't worth much in Capcom's model.

No Daredevil (my personal #1 request) and a sense of enthusiasm taken away by lack of surprise since much of this roster appears to be returning directly from the previous game, and still no beloved X-Men, and even beyond that, there's a bunch of criticisms about this roster brought up in this thread already that I agree with as well.

I mean, there's a few things I welcome for sure, but this is feeling like the least impactful MvC game to date pre-release. Roster hype has been a huge draw for casuals like me, and if this is what Capcom goes ahead and confirms in the coming days, this might be the first pre-order for a Capcom flagship fighting game I pass on in over a decade.

Even Injustice 2 didn't feel like it was lined with all-stars from my perspective (I got Swamp Thing tho!), but it at least felt fresh and like they were genuinely trying to expand with some of their roster selection of newcomers being relatively lesser-knowns. I don't necessarily want or need MvC to be that way, but this feels super duper safe, to a point of being boring.

Wait, you think that in 2017 that Capcom's core demographic for MvCI is NOT casual fans who like Marvel and/or Capcom characters? Then explain why they are significantly changing the fighting system by having auto combos and slimming it down to 2v2....Yeah, they're obviously targeting a more casual audience with MvCI.

Roster looks weak wow

Compared to 2 & 3 at least

Though if this rumor is true I will be happy that Jedah is in the game but no Felicia?!

They're being more accessible, similar to how they've been more accessible with SFV.

They want people to pick it up, play it online, watch the tournaments, invest in all of the DLC.

You're talking about the kind of people who were going to drop the thing after a week, anyway.

Uh is "Monster Hunter" (lol) the only new Capcom character?

No wait Jedah is also new?

Oh man will Jedah have his command throw where he pumps his opponent full of blood until they blow up?

Wow, that's genuinely pretty awful. Like, I had low expectations, but they somehow managed to underachieve even those. Good job.

Four female characters total in a fighting game in 2017 is just lol.

You're literally making up people here. You're literally saying that Capcom doesn't want $60 from people because they will "drop the game after a week."

I expected Phoenix Wright to get cut, and Date Masamune was just a pipe dream, but NO BLACK PANTHER!?

That list better be fake.

This has to be like the playable roster at the E3 build next month.

Capcom hopefully can't be so foolish as to release a base roster like this... smaller than vanilla MvC3 and using so many MvC3 assets.

I have LOVED the Vs. Series since Children of the Atom. Like an obsessive love for it for decades, but with this recycled sub-par roster, I would lean toward not buying it. Which I never thought I would ever consider regarding the series. I can just go play UMvC3. Why would they release that on PS4 and then follow it up with something so much lesser?

It has to be just part of the base. Again, maybe just what we are going to see at E3. That's just about doubling the characters we have currently revealed with most of them being MvC3 assets. Then in July and August, they can hit us with some NEW heavy hitters, some beloved returns, and *gasp* an X-MAN or two.

I know Capcom loves to milk the DLC and such, but this base roster would kill the hype and like many have stated, sour the game launch and repeat the SFV pattern. They can't be that out of touch with their market... can they?

like I get that people are mad...and let down (lord knows I am; just once i'd like a Capcom release without this bullshit) but I can't help but chuckle that people really thought reps from super dead franchises had a chance to get in. G&G is getting a new port/game/thingy and some merchandise so its not as super dead as Breath of Fire or Rival Schools.

Sometimes you guys set yourself up for this shit.

that being said, they better knock it out the park with the content to justify this level of low budget fuckery. Its not a good look after all of the shit SFV got/gets to basically learn fuck all from it...

but capcom gonna capcom sadly.
