Game soundtracks on vinyl | Analogue Gen 33fps

So do we know if any UK or Europe stores will be stocking the standard edition?

Not unless they do a different pressing. The only 2LP version that's been announced is a ThinkGeek exclusive. They've generally not had a lot of their titles available from EU distros.

I already got the 3xLP from the German store the other day, so I can't be THAT upset about not getting a signed copy.... but I can't help but feel upset. Ugh

I really hope the Skyrim release is handled differently. That is a release I absolutely must have :)

50 copies, yet they allowed people to buy two at a time.

Just purchased the Deus Ex: Human Revolution LP on Discogs for £35. I guess I'm treating myself today.

There are only a handful of remaining game soundtracks that I would consider essential to own for myself at this point:

- Witcher 3: Blood & Wine
- Silent Hill 2
- Mass Effect Trilogy
- Brigador, Vol. I & II
- Metal Gear Solid (if it ever happens)

In case it hasn't been posted it yet: Spacelab9 copies go up at 1pm EST. There are only 100 copies, for a worldwide total of 200. Of the 100, 50 of them are signed by composers Marcin Przbylowicz & Mikolai Stroinski. You will have a choice to buy a signed or unsigned copy. Limit is 2 per customer.
Wow.

Like, wow.

Game Legends never got back to me, so I really hope they don't now go ahead and cancel my order now that Spacelab's have come and gone. I did email them a followup.

Ha, plot twist.

if they are making a thousand of these but parceling them out 100 at a time in different colors that's a different kind of lolworthy annoying bs than if they just made 100 of something where the demand is probably closer to 1k.

I'm ready to be pissed when I find out the next variant is 4 LPs with Blood and Wine on it. Or if they really wanna piss people off it will have the 2 LP for Witcher 3, and the 3rd will be Blood and Wine instead of Heart of Stone.
These fucking people couldn't be any worse at communication.
Let's see...They gave us 120 minute duration instead of 1h20m for Witcher 3 vinyl---never corrected themselves---even though they were directly questioned about it. Many went nuts trying to order the 3 LP version from Game Legends because there was no mention of an NA release, only to find out after Game Legends sold out that there will be a NA release...and we found this out because of an email they sent out after the panic and frustration had already hit. And now we get news there will be another variant. Not another print, but a variant. So for all we know, the shit won't be like what we just ordered. Seriously, who the fuck is running that place?

Please refer to the philosophical quandary as posed by AC/DC I posted earlier- who made who? Stock routinely sells out in hours, sometimes minutes. If it were any other item you didn't care about, you'd be astounded by their prowess.

Clearly they are doing something correct in terms of cold market cents. I despise artificial scarcity as much as the next person, but will grit my teeth and spend the money when I want it bad enough. That's how hobbyist audio works! CDs have more reliable audio anyways, and they're always exponentially cheaper.

If the burn really sets in there's always ten more incredible records you haven't bought yet, waiting for you out there in limitless supplies. VGM is doing its weird ass Hot Topic shit at the moment, try not to become so flustered maybe? I dunno. If you want to weep, research the staggering amounts of mono and stereo release price differences in the jazz scene.

I'm sorry, this made no sense.

Everyone fully understands the concept of limited releases. Stop trying to spin a 100-record release with half a dozen bungles as a marketing technique.

They've bungled this from announcement to release. It's that simple.

This is Amateur hour, not some expert marketing strategy.

Agreed. I snagged myself a copy, and still I can clearly recognize this was all handled like shit. Limited stock is one thing, but limited stock plus piss poor communication is another.

And yet with amateur hour antics, people will still be foaming at the mouth to buy what they're offering. I hate F5ing for goods on the internet as well, but let's not pretend this is restricted VGM on vinylz.

Yes, people will buy 100 copies of merchandise from one of the biggest games of the past decade.

What an incredible accomplishment -- I stand in awe.

No one's claiming it's restricted to videogame vinyl, and no one is claiming there isn't demand for it even with bad decisions. You are addressing no one.

Are Spacelab normally this bad? I think this has been handled even more poorly than anything iam8bit have done.
Mind you, this is all pre-sales behaviour. Maybe the actual product delivery/execution will be better.

The only slowdown and confusion from them before were the Megaman variants.

But beyond that they seem to have been OK and pressed their previous records in good quantities.

seeing as ive already bought the thinkgeek version because of how shitty spacelab9 was, i'm going to skip whatever else comes out.

looks like iam8bit has a new competitor!

Gonna try and cancel my 2LP Witcher 3 set ordered through ThinkGeek. Hearing that there's more variants to come I'd rather just wait till everything is out there before ordering.

Plus if they release a future variant through a European distributor it'll save me a bunch in postage if I can nab one.

I'd maybe hold off, that silver beard version from thinkgeek is now sold out.

So I've got some original chiptune music vinyl project's in the works! I'm collaborating with a couple different awesome musicians, and I'm designing them in a way that makes them feel extra special, but I'm also concerned at how far I can go before they would be too pricey for folks. Lenticular coverart, diecut vinyl, holofoil sleeves, etc! Is the $20-$25 price range the highest you guys would probably go in on for an original chiptune album? These would be in hand before they would go up for sale... just trying to find a nice balance between costs and ideas to maximize their potential! Cheers! :)

These are all annoying gimmicks that attract people that buy records and don't play them; just put the album on vinyl and keep it cheap.

Keep us informed of the album, regardless, I'm always up for more chip music on vinyl.

Did anyone else get randomly CC'd on a chain email from Moonshake Records? It was like they were trying to test out their mailing list but accidentally showed everyone's emails to the public.
