Guys, I had a dream last night that SOCOM 5 was revealed at e3. Shu and Guo rappelled in from the ceiling in full Navy Seal gear. They had huge guns, like those old massive super soakers and started shooting beta keys into the crowd. Every time I grabbed a key, somebody would snatch it from my hands. By the end, I had no key and I was so upset but then I saw a Red Cross sight appear over my forehead and Gio shot me with a key that wasn't on paper but like just plastered/stamped on my forehead.

I think I need to get medical help.

A few random predictions

- The Legend of Dragoon Remastered announced. Similar to PaRappa on PS4.
- A follow-up to PlayStation All-Stars will be announced. It won't necessarily be a fighting game, just something that brings classic PlayStation characters together again. Crash is in it this time.
- PSVR is getting a $50 price cut in the US and you now get a free PSVR game every month with Plus
- LittleBigPlanet VR announced.
- Sucker Punch's new game is announced. Its a futuristic open world game with at least 2 playable main characters.
- A new trailer for Spider-Man confirms the title and Doc Ock as the primary villain.

I had a dream mag was revived than I woke up

That game was so much fun.

That seems more like a PSX announcement imo, but i'd love to see it whenever. Just show me All-Stars isn't dead.

Would be near impossible, game uses pre rendered images as backgrounds, which were originally rendered at 240p or something equivalent. Parappa was all 3D so it's possible to increase its internal rendering resolution.

Hm. Wonder what they kick the show off with...

I'd say people shouldn't discount the possibility of a multiplatform third party game opening up the show. I know that would piss some off, but it's something they have done before (most recently with Destiny in 2014). But they obviously have multiple first party projects that would work as well. Spider-Man is obviously a great choice. There's a ton of hype for it and people are anxious to see straight gameplay. That would obviously go over very well as a show opener. TLoUPII is an obvious one, but that also seems like a very long shot for us to see any gameplay. Same goes for Death Stranding.

There's also the possibility that they'll surprise everyone with a completely new IP. Sucker Punch's project is an obvious one, but Sony Japan apparently has a number of projects in the works as well. They've really got quite a few good options to open and close the show.

You're right that there's no way they'll scramble to do anything based solely on news that shows up the day before. Everything has been planned in a fair bit of detail far in advance, but in their shoes I might gameplan one or two optional announcements as part of that work. Early trailers can be pulled at the last minute if they're not necessary to counter a strong competitor If price cuts are planned for the Fall someone will already have studied the impact of pulling them in a few months so they could pull the trigger earlier if it would be advantageous in shaping public opinion.

I've always wondered if they can really do that...the more I know about how corporate work the less I think it's possible, but I really don't know.

If I had to bet I'd put my money on the keynote being final no matter what MS does though

I love this series to death, because the base mechanic of catching monkeys ad oddball humor is incredible. The games themselves are insanely outdated in just about everything outside of the monkey catching, so I would love to see what a decade of game design experience can do with the basic mechanic. Perfect world I imagine open individual levels ala HITMAN 2016 where I can just run around and explore and puzzle solve with gadgets.

It's why I advocated insomniac do it if Sony Japan won't. With a bigger budget and not being tied to a movie ratchet and clank would have been more amazing than I feel it already was. They got the crazy weapons down, the humor, the slight platforming, use whatever engine ratchet and clank was...they could pull it of

They're going to open with KH3 and an orchestra playing Simple and Clean. Announce that it's now a PS4 exclusive and will be releasing January 2018. Gameplay demo which involves Spider-Man, transition into a Spider-Man gameplay demo.

Bloodborne 2 wouldn't satisfy everyone anyway. If From made it it'd just be the whole "B-team/From can't make good sequels" thing again

I wouldn't be opposed to Japan Studio making it

Okay we got discussions about the opening title and also title to be shown at last.

So is sony gonna announce something which will be available right now after the show? Destiny 2 alpha maybe?

I don't want that.

Boy, that's a hype killer.

Might as well not exist.

Let it die if that's the case

Purity testing can gtfo.

It certainly would be put under a microscope if From weren't the devs (heck, it would be anyway if Miyazaki wasn't the director), but if From won't do it, I say go for it.

Find good devs (Platinum, Bluepoint, Team Ninja, etc.), sign Miyazaki as consultant and Sony Japan as lead and do it!

I think the exclusive part won't happen, but a trailer with live orchestra is something I really want!

It has nothing to do with purity testing and everything to do with quality.

Sorry, I don't think any of the studios you listed or Japan Studios are remotely capable of creating a master piece like Bloodborne.

It would likely be a wanna-be at best that fails to capture what made BB special.

That's You seems likely. From what we've heard it's supposed to be a quiz party game, so it seems like the type of game they'd launch during E3.

I agree with the notion that Japan Studios would struggle to do Bloodborne justice, but I don't really see the harm in letting them try. If everything blows up, the original still exists. If they knock it out of the park, it'll be a nice surprise. A bad sequel can't affect a great game.
