I'm really worried for Cuphead

There's no way the game can live up for all the hype that accumulated during these years. It will be "disappointing" to reviews no matter how good the game end up being

I'm still buying it ASAP tho

People complained when it was "just a boss rush". The dev team added in platforming sections and then people complained saying the platforming looked bad. They just cannot win.

I don't think is ever been presented as a way to revitalize sales. Its always been talked about as a premium device. The S is what MS expects to sell most.
"Premium" can mean a lot of things.

The PS4 was a premium product compared to the PS3 when it launched in 2013. The PS4 Pro was a premium product compared to the PS4 Slim when it launched in 2016.

If the Scorpio costs 399$ at launch, it will still be a premium product compared to the XBO S at 299$ (or potentially 249$ if it gets a price drop).

A 449$ or 499$ pricetag is not out of the realms of possibility, but I do think there's a chance that Xbox has described Scorpio as "premium" because they want to make a splash with a 399$ announcement at E3.

All this Borderlands timed exclusive crap reminds me of 2013 Xbox One E3 where everyone kept thinking games like Homefront Revolution, League of Legends, and Hawken would be Xbox exclusive lol. Stop doing this to yourselves.

I want to believe. But another Age of Empires isnt gonna do anything really. Esspcially when its on W10 only and i doubt a console version is gonna do something.
If they did make a new Age of Empires it would launch day and date on STEAM where the other games exist and they continue to make DLC for.

It'll be fine. I'm glad they aren't rushing it.

Phil said he uses the word "premium" because he doesnt want people to think that Scorpio will take over the Xbox line really. The S is still gonna be there and will sell the most. Just because is lower priced. Doesnt mean indeed because he says "premium" it needs to 500 bucks. It can be 300 bucks and still its gonna be the "premium" version.

It will be $399 / £349 most likely, like the PS4 at launch

This is what I think as well, base SKU. I also think we are guaranteed a second SKU, with a bundled elite controller for maybe £399/$450, maybe more depending on how aggressive they want to be with that inclusion.

Everything else would doom it DOA because let's be honest.... 4k alone isn't such a big pull and aside from that they don't seem to have anything to show off the extra juice with. MS really has to work on their first party portfolio.

Ghost of a Tale has passed cert. another game preview title they might push

https://twitter.com/seithcg/status/872008875632996353

Oh shit oh shit oh shit. That is awesome news! Early this year they updated their site and said they had sent the game to MS for certification back in October and didn't hear from them yet. So I decided to make a post about this on Reddit and Major Nelson responded to this really fast and said he had passed this on to the right team.

Soon there was another update that they had run into some bugs and at first thought this was a Xbox and unity error but eventually came to the conclusion that it was on them. It's damn good to see it has passed certification. This should mean we get this in game preview soon?

Much appreciated man!

price discussion still going on?

so all agree on $399 - $499 but the controversial topic is being DOA at a certain price.
why is that? why do many here think $399 is fine, but $499 already DOA territory, when the difference is not that huge? - not for the target audience at launch anyway...

$399 is clearly mass market price for the core console audience and cheap for early adaptor.
Ps4 sold 25 million Ps4 at that price
Ps4 Pro Sold 2 million at that price, while being a very minor upgrade and not even really advertised
$499? Xbox One sold 5 million at that price

yes Scorpio is not a new cut-off gen, but i still don't see why $499 would be DOA territory. You can always add value. You can always cut prices later when sales slow down
i don't think $499 will be the entry price for Xbox Scorpio, but i also don't think that would be a to high or bad entry price. surely not DOA territory

Pro wasn't a minor upgrade for being out a year early and had access to many more markets than Scorpio will.

And yes, it'll be $399. Don't see why it wouldn't.

It will be $399. People are stil trying to convince themselves that it will be higher so they can go "OMG, it's 399!!!", when the price is revealed.

Lol. I see it as non-Xbox fans convincing others it must be 399 so they can act insulted and concerned if it's more.

Knights of Aegis is definitely real, also seems heavily inspired by Bioshock (Dual wielding 'spells' and guns)

here's the artwork that leaked a while ago

exclusive?

2012: Minecraft/Witcher 2
2013: Dead Rising 3
2014: Titanfall/PvZ GW
2015: Rise of the Tomb Raider/Smite/Elite: Dangerous
2016: Dead Rising 4

They've had their fair share of timed/console exclusives with One.
I wonder if this will be the first year we'll not see a big 3rd party exclusive.

Wait black controller? black console confirmed??
Also that looks like a new controller the dip were the home button (xbox button) look a lot deeper than other models and the bumpers appear different.

Not really seeing it imo. Here is the part in gif.

Right, remember he also stated that he isn't trying to scare anybody on the price of Scorpio.

449 seems to be a win for all.

$449+$60 game + $50 for XBL = $560 +7% sales tax takes it up to $600 out the door. That is too pricey in my opinion. This is a case where the $50, which is really the price of 3-4 drinks at a nice bar, has a huge difference in optics.

Maybe add the price of the gas you need to drive to the postoffice or store where you buy the console from as well?

Why would i bother with that? Amazon will deliver it for free. Is the assumption that people aren't going to buy games or play online?

The yutube feed will have 4k? if I have a 4k tv, will youtube recognize it instantly?

I would imagine so. I've never seen a 4k YT stream so I can't test it but I would imagine it auto goes to 4K just like when you watch a video on your TV's YT app.

I hope ms shows more then the rumor from 4chan. I reallywant them to show something withe the blue dragon license. At this point id take a new game/story using the original art assets in unreal. I need an original Japanese rpg.

I'm trying not to get hyped this year, but those capcom leaks look fantastic, and if xbox got any of those as true exclusives good on em.

5 days

thats a pretty good teaser for scorpio, it reminds me of the sony ads for the PS3

I don't really think MS is carying for Japan at this point (neither Japan for Xbox). I think this is very unlikely.

To be honest, I particularly never saw anything special in Cuphead other than it's amazing art style. The game never really looked interesting to me.

I think most people are expecting something very special from it; something the game never was (and that may even be the reason why they decided to delay it and add some levels).

I hope it becomes a very good game, but my interest in it is still pretty much zero.

My consensus on the 'leaks' -

- Exclusive Ninja Gaiden Project, actually a very logical and exciting partnership
- Borderlands 3 timed exclusivity, needless
- Fable Online, meh just green light 4 already
- Knight of the Aegis, a great opportunity to bolster the first party line up sooner rather then later
- Project Uranus, would be great after the previous Obsidian exclusive fell through

Barring Borderlands 3 timed exclusivity, that would make for a satisfying conference.

So if the final name will be Scorpio will it be:

1.) Xbox One Scorpio
2.) Xbox Scorpio
3.) Scorpio

Personally, I love the name Scorpio for the unit, but I think #2 is what it will be. I think removing the "one" is the right path.

Thoughts?

I'd argue Borderlands 3 1 year exclusivity is needed, as it combats destiny. its not destiny's equal but it has a strong following, and if its a play anywhere title* then that certainly might boost XO sales some, especially if its cross play win10/xo/xos

if these leaks turn out true, this might be shaping up to be the greatest E3 for xbox since 2004?
