I remember last year they were saying how it was going to focus on the games, there would be lots of awesome suprises, the best lineup etc, but so far i haven't seen anything even slightly along those lines. Am i just missing it?

The two posts above just seem to be sort of factual things rather than trying to get people excited about it.
That is what it is meant to be. It isn't trying to get people excited.

They did focus on games last year. Sony just had a great bit of fortune landing Nioh, Persona 5, and Nier basically free of charge on a home town discount. Sony's outstanding exclusives just made everything else look worse in comparison.
nier and nioh should have been on Xbox one I could see both doing 500k+ Ltd. that's a respectable profit for lower budget games. I think both companies did themselves a disservice not porting a cheap xbox one version. I can understand persona but even that now isn't niche

Is the show being broadcast on Youtube at 4k as well?

On the new app for Xbox One, Mixer, I only used it once, but is there a way to go full screen? I would hate to be watching the conference and have that chat box on the side open. I want to be able to watch full screen and in 4k if possible.

Xbox has really been stepping up their ad game recently from the Halo wars, Gamepass and Mixer adds to now the scorpio ads which I think shows they are going to push it heavily. Maybe they unified their surface and xbox advertising teams, I hope we get a ad like the one surface studio and surface book got except for the scorpio.

You can close the chat. Go full screen and I think you press X. It tells you when you go full screen.

How does it hook up to a TV then?

edit: Anyway, glad they are not wasting conference time to demonstrate VR. To me, that's never really translated well when companies try to demo that. It's something you need to experience to really understand any benefit.

Lol

No extra hdmi out XD (and no stupid boxes to split the signal)

I only messed with it briefly when it came out and was planing in the next day or two to go back and figured I would ask. Feels weird that we are this close. I am going into prep mode, bought a big pork loin to slow cook and make pulled pork sandwiches, have a bunch of people coming over etc. Even going to do a full power shut down of my Xbox One, Modem and Router to clear out any oddities to ensure a great stream. I will have my gaming rig that also has a wired connection booted and ready in case something happens with the Mixer stream.

My biggest worry is that the stream and/or the 4k stream will not handle all the people logging in to watch. I really hope MS has this planned out well and they have accounted for this. Worse thing that could happen is that the stream dies and we miss part of the show. Hope they are ready.

Yeah it looks cool doesn't it? Would prefer third person too.

I'm literally having this increased excitement for every game simply because of my hype for how they'll look and play on Scorpio. A game with that description, combining elemental spell magic with modern guns in 1970s New York while also appearing to be a largely story driven affair with some sort of investigation or case solving mechanic?

Sign me the fuck up , if it's real that is. That said, I'm one of those gamers that is very sensitive to mood and art style, so this might really need to be 3rd person for me to maintain my excitement. If by chance it's somehow first person instead, it has a much bigger hill to climb for me because, regardless of how much people praise Bioshock, it's a series that I never gave a chance because the overall vibe I got from it just didn't work for me.

They did focus on games. Best line up is usual marketing spiel. They also need to announce basic facts about comms and media lineups and stuff. Not everything has to be a megaton revelation, and not everything will be to your tastes, especially on GAF, where if you don't like Nioh or w/e you're irrelevant...

One game I'm looking forward to out of all of E3 is Assassins Creed, I was playing Syndicate at a friends and loved it, might be because I haven't played a Creed since 2012. Ubisoft could really nail the Egyptian setting with lighting effects especially given the dev tools and engines of today.

I wouldn't know.
PS4 got some good ads though.

For some odd reason I'm right there with you on Assassin's Creed. I suspect it's going to be a lot more impressive than people expect. Last Assassin's Creed game I played was part 2, but I never got the chance to complete it.

Unless the Scorpio is more powerful than it seems, I think it's a bit short sited to keep trumpeting terms like "True 4K" and putting 4K on their chipset.

I'd be surprised if any of the big 3rd party games this year are "true 4K" on scorpio unless it's in very limited dynamic resolution cases.

They are setting up a difficult measuring stick for themselves.

So M.Nelson mentioned exclusives for those that attend e3 show parties in NY,LA, and Sydney. Think maybe they hand out some Scorpio units to attendees? Hmmmm

I think (well hope) it surprises people in a good way. The series went boring for me, year after year of release so I skipped it until recently. Maybe the break will do the series good long term.

That isn't what i meant, really. I meant that compared to last year there seems to be a lack of them trying to get people hyped about their conference and what they're going to show. Maybe i'm just missing it but i've not seen any so far.

Battlefront 2 seems to be pretty much a given at this point to be native 4K/60fps and I'm sure more will follow.

According to jez, battlefront 3 is native 4k along with some other games.

And if they are, it's a huge waste of power.

They seem pretty confident that third party engines that hit 900p on xb1 will hit native 4K on Scorpio.

Unless they actually have room left for graphical improvements but that really remains to be seen.

I think it's quite obvious they will.

COD: Infinite Warfare runs at checkerboard 2160p on PS4 Pro and its resolution looks indistinguishable from many native 4K games I've seen—and as a result, that power is used effectively in other areas. Imagine what they could do with the 6TF in Scorpio?!

true 4k is referred to the mixer's streaming, not games

Xbox has really been stepping up their ad game

Can't really agree with this. The ads are still too few and too localized, xbox has barely any media presence outside US. meanwhile the champions league final had ps4pro ads all over the field just to quote one big example.

Which is weird because we had X360 ads here in brazil all the goddamn time and not a single peep for xbox one since launch (save for a one time only LATAM sale they had)

xbox don't even have ads in the US, obviously the division is allocated less money after the 2013 debacle. they're trying to exercise in profit.
