$399 would be awesome. It would also be a big blow to the PRO. Even if they lower the price, unless they do it the next day during their conference you are still going to get the "better hardware for the same price" comparisons.

If it's more expensive then the guy who came up with the teaser is probably watching these theories in a state of horror.

Cocky Microsoft is back!!!!!

For real though, if Scorpio is the same price as Pro, Microsoft would just wipe the floor with Sony.
If this was 2013...

It'll never be $399, like I hope it is for my wallets sake but they've been calling it a "Premium" product. It'll be $499 I reckon.

Don't know who lit the fire under Microsoft, but I haven't seen them get this aggressive against Sony before. If the Scorpio price mark is at what we might think of in regards of around $400, that would mean that Microsoft is really going to be going for Sony's neck.

All Microsoft needs know is some good exclusive content and they could actually have a good shot at taking down Sony in the 2nd half of the year (not counting the first half for obvious reasons)
I'm willing to bet the Scorpio would have a lesser effect on sales than the X1 Slim. GAF may be hyped for it but most of the casual audience will go for the cheaper option.

I'm in whatever the price. Got a decent trade in price for my PS4 AND my XB1 for the S and games.

I'm also enjoying the triggering going on right now. Some people are all in on the hate, lol.

MS are down by roughly 25 million units and the gap between PS4 and X1 will CONTINUE to widen. You know why? Xbox brand does NOT appeal to the rest of the world outside of the usual US/UK. Same song and dance. They have a brand problem.

They're down by quiet a bit more than 25 million units.

But isn't that already the case for play anywhere titles?

that's something they still want to emphasize moving forward though

for every big first party title at E3 they are gonna mention it being available for both the Scorpio (Xbox 10 S) and Windows 10

Microsoft under $400 god fucking damn't this is the kind of competition I wanna see.

Cocky Microsoft is best Microsoft.

If you put X10S101-317 into google you get the old magazine.
When you put X10S101-317 into bing you get... nothing.

This has the opportunity to be a tremendous success... or a horrendous fail! haha

(Me, I just see Scorpio released on Oct 13 2017. Seems more reasonable than they somehow planted the image in 2013 for unused X1 or even Scorpio future news... unless...
Scorpio:
Time Travel Confirmed!
)

Raises hand.

I kind like better, and then Microsoft made it even better by paying me to use it. I've bought a couple of games, and have $60 banked for another one.

Is Google really that much better?

Honestly Bing has a quite a few good parts about it and one of them is the Rewards program.

Hopefully they can go back to what matters and that is games, great they have exciting hardware now lets see the games. They had exciting hardware in 2013. Hopefully they get the message.

When you're trying to compete with a Japanese company, it's understandable you won't get the sweet Japanese exclusives. It's not so much a brand problem as a location problem.

In the era of widespread PC gaming in the West, the Xbox is basically just a third wheel. It was kind of doomed to mediocrity from the get-go. I think Microsoft's fine with that, because they have other revenue streams (e.g. more people buying Windows, or games from the Windows Store).

I'm also expecting a higher price but you never know.

Mabye they have been calling it a premium product to just boost the feeling that it's "stronger and better" than other consoles and then they surprise everyone with a lower price than expected. $399 is a lot of money for some people but if they were expecting $499 it suddenly doesn't look like that much.

Only to lose to the Switch.

Well yeah... If a mid gen hardware refresh outsold a brand new console during it's first holiday season that would be pretty sad.

I'm happy for anyone who is excited about Scorpio and for those who end up purchasing and enjoying their gaming on one.

However, all the BS marketing and console war stuff is ridiculous. Everyone needs to keep in mind that PS5 can't be too far off and Scorpio's REAL challenge isn't 4 teraflops - it's trying to compete with Sony's growing library of exclusives.

I said time and time again that it won't be $399. That was before they told us it has a jaguar. I absolutely expect $399, otherwise good luck.

Yeah but why so serious lol.

"Take that, MS!"

this next few days finna be funny lol
Because of the nature of the thread. The OP decided to add that the ads had sick PS4 burns when they clearly don't. Also added in a picture of a robot that says $399 and turns it into a conspiracy theory. Going by that logic is going to be priced between $500 and $4500 going by this pic that was found googling that number.

I feel like a $399 Scorpio would be like the equivalent of the 16 GB iPhone, pairing very powerful hardware with an inadequate amount of storage.

I still think the real cost will be the same as XBox One launched at: $499. Maybe it would be like a 500 GB vs. 2 TB to get people to bite at the higher price.

External drives are cheap and easy to add for those that have to keep every game installed.

It sure felt like some people worked hard to push the 499$ narative, probably to create a superficial "megaton" when Microsoft announce the 399$ price at E3.
The Scorpio was a 399 console since the day it was announced and any person with his common sense intact knew that.

I am curious about how hard drives will work on Scorpio. I believe they said it will use a 1TB, faster hard drive for loading 4K games. My guess is it will be a hybrid like what came in the Elite as SSDs are still too expensive.

So in order for external drives to load 4K games quickly people will need to buy external SSHDs or SSDs? Maybe MS as spoken about this already? If so I haven't seen the news yet.

I think I will fork out for a bigger HD model if they offer one. I did with S, was worth getting the 2TB model IMO.

Other than pricing, I want to see 3 of this fall's biggest games look and run substantially better on the Scorpio than the Pro. They have to convey that in youtube videos where they can reach the mass market.

I think putting up that picture is a mistake, people are getting the wrong idea here, 399 for the type of power they are going for is crazy talk.

How is that a "sick PS4 burn". Lol... some people have no sense of humour.

Looks like MS is ramping stuff up for Scorpio. Should be an exciting week.
