With all the discussion teasers have arise, they can't afford pricing the console over 400. If that's the case, they should make damage control right now.

Also, a ticket for the train please. My expectations are unusually low but I'll sure enjoy the ride.

So maybe that is why they are bringing Minecraft Windows 10 edition to Xbox. Realms support in that which can do cross play with all of the other Windows 10 editions.

Spent some quality time with my Xbox last night and I am back on the fucking hype train! Currently figuring out which organs I use least so I can justify keeping my One S while also getting Scorpio.

Haven't read the whole thread so apologies if this has already been discussed, but what about VR support for Scorpio?

When Scorpio was first announced at E3 last year, they talked about it being the best console for VR etc, but that talk has disappeared and they don't even mention VR anymore with regards to Scorpio :-(

I'm hoping Microsoft announce a proper Xbox branded headset at E3 for Scorpio.
Really want Star Trek Bridge Crew! lol

I'm pretty hyped. I am really glad they're doing it on a Sunday....no distractions. I can't wait to see the box.

I can guarantee it will look pretty much identical to the Dev kit, minus the controls on the front & LCD.

Atta a boy! Fucking about time you get back on board!

so Cupheads gonna be an 'out now' type of deal, surely?

Gotta be imo

They're not discussing VR at E3 and it's not expected til 2018. https://www.polygon.com/2017/6/6/15745630/xbox-vr-e3

Fuck VR! None at the conference.

according to polygon, there won't be VR at Xbox conference and won't come this year to the platform. Maybe they will announce it but no more.
Probably they will talk more about VR in the PC conference.

This looks interesting.

In fact, microsoft got a lot of those smaller titles coming up soon enough (this, ooblets, mouse game, the one with the buttons, etcetera). Hoping there's an indie reel on E3 showing more of them

Sorry for the mini-list, but, assuming the best for each of these (!), we already have Pit People (full), Gigantic (full), Tacoma, We Happy Few (full), Below, Cuphead, and Ashen lined up for release in the not too distant future (I say optimistically), and there are lots of others that are easily missed. Astroneer is trundling along too. Xbox isn't Steam for this kinda stuff, but there are some really cool games about that often fly under the radar.

Can you imagine if Realms is crossplay with every device except Playstation?

Microsoft is still extremely distrusted with certain gamers and when it comes to the cross play thing a lot of people on Neogaf would say "don't fall for marketing tricks - the ball is not in Sony's court, Microsoft is preemptively announcing something they know won't work, etc... etc...."

No one really trusted that Microsoft suddenly became the quintessential platform holder for crossplay.

Now we're going to get a game that's cross play with everything except Sony's consoles? If that rumour is true it tells me Sony is the one stubbornly not allowing crossplay.

It's amazing how they started the gen with the #4theplayers moniker and Microsoft is doing everything in its power to be #4theplayers and Sony is doing everything in its power to be the opposite.

Backwards compatibility on 360, not forcing you to pay to play games you already own, offering steam-like refunds, offering 4K bluray, offering multiple subscription options (ea access, game pass, and gold), etc... And all signs point to Microsoft being for full crossplay across all platforms.

Do you think anyone outside of this thread knows about the "how to build this robot for under $400" thing?

Brilliant if true. Crazy brilliant.

You know as well as i do that minecraft could release on every electronic system with crossplay on them bar the playstation and people here would still say it was Microsoft's fault or that they were holding Playstation on purpose

Man I love this post.

I live for these types of games on Xbox.

On 360 I was a pure AAA gamer and I occasionally dabbled in Xbla releases like Trials, Limbo, Braid, Splosion Man, etc...

But if I were to guess 95% of the games I've played on Xbox One have been indie/xbla-type games.

Tacoma in particular could be a goty candidate in my eyes.

Honestly I think Limbo was my favorite game last gen. XBLA was the shit!

Just a thought, if Microsoft is going to offer crossplay because of Minecraft Windows 10 edition replacing the XOne edition, how will Nintendo systems get crossplay? Will they be left out, too?

I somehow missed the details about no VR at E3 from yesterday and all I can say is thank goodness. Phil basically said as much on Podcast Unlocked a few months ago but it's nice to have official confirmation! Let's them put all their focus on Scorpio + games.

What if they brought back Summer of Arcade and headlined it with Cuphead :o

I wonder if Microsoft would be willing to start launching certain ID @ Xbox games via Game Pass this soon. Paying $10 to get access to a few noteworthy Indie games like Cuphead and Below would definitely drive people to the service. I'd imagine they would just have to work out a deal where they give the devs X amount of cash upfront.

Honestly I think Limbo was my favorite game last gen. XBLA was the shit!

Here are my top five games of last gen:

1. Max Payne 3
2. Alan Wake
3. Mass Effect 2
4. Batman Arkham Asylum
5. Shadows of the Damned

Honourable mentions: Spec Ops The Line, Trials Evolution, Braid, Limbo, Bioshock 1, Bioshock Infinite, Splosion Man, Ms. Splosion Man, Red Dead Redemption, Deus Ex Human Revolution, Sleeping Dogs, Battleblock Theater, Banjo Nuts and Bolts

My top 5 for this gen:

1. Forza Horizon 3
2. Inside
3. The Witness
4. Sunset Overdrive
5. Life Is Strange

Too early for honourable mentions. But the above are far and away my top 5. So to me indie/xbla-type games have had a huge jump in quality (and quantity).

I could really see Microsoft releasing episodic first party content through the gamepass. It would help sell gamepass and would also bring games that would normally fall to the side to a bigger audience. I'm curious to see if they talk more about gamepass at the conference.

100000 percent!!!!

Oh damn... Probably false hope here, but I've been wondering if Microsoft would re-introduce a "free" tier of Xbox Live. Seems odd that they'd post that ad today... Realistically, I think they could easily offer a free tier that includes some basic multiplayer functionality to get people in the door. Sweeten the "paid" pot with GwG, Clubs, LFG, party chat, etc...

It's awesome that Xbox Live Gold gives you so much value, but it still feels like MS is holding your console hostage if you don't sub. It'd help them a ton to ease people into it IMO.

"Inspired by the likes of Dali, Ernst, and modern European techno, Beat The Game is a charming adventure game with a heart made of music."

I'll be keeping my eye out for this one based on that line alone.

That's what's funny how the generation went. One company showed a new concept that everyone jumped into proclaiming to be anti consumer, and the other capitalizing on that with a hashtag.

But then when the company that capitalized on that actually make anti consumer moves like sitting on a PS2 emulator but use it to sell remasters, it's like no one cares about consumer rights anymore.

On the subject of crossplay I doubt that Minecraft would change anything, I could almost bet that we will see posts putting it on Ms like, minecraft is theirs so they made it look like the bad guy was Sony, or stuff like that.

Fuck MS trying to milk money from Sony with Minecraft! It's a Trojan Horse!!!!!!!!

That's not really anti-consumer.
But I agree that they are not showing why they are #4ThePlayers

Well, they got games and first party devs.

They do indeed. But let's be real, with how much Sony accomplished this gen with PS4 they should be offering better. Not even their PS Plus subscription is as good as it used to be when it wasn't recquired to play online.

I think they have a point. MS started this generation being potential assholes, but they managed to turn the situation upside down. They do offer great features for their gamers with their subscription offers, great GwG "free" games every month, and a very decent backwards compatibility that gets only better each month.

Wasn't the emulator initially developed on Ps3 as a compensation over the removal of ps2 hardware needed for BC from PS3, but then it never got released because sony realized they could sell remaster?

Granted, that was Ps3 and even if it's easy to port to PS4 they wouldn't necessarily would have to, so perhaps it wasn't a very good example really.

Right, but I'm just saying that will be the counter argument.

show it in xbox daily or something, no one wanna see that shit

Don't be surprised if it's on the main stage, they maybe obligated to depending on marketing deal terms.

It's a shitty move, but not anti-consumer.

Gwent is crossplay between PC and Xbox aswell. No PS4.

But Minecraft would definitely have a much bigger impact

Do we know the length of the briefing? I think they are usually roughly an hour and a half. I am assuming it will be about the same but it could possibly be a bit longer with the Scorpio reveal.

It's 90 minutes. Doesn't need to be longer IMO.

Jez "leaks" are laughable. He never knows or can say anything. White noise is more enlightening than anything he tweets

Agree with you..I remember when he said Xbox didn't sell in Eu because Europe hated americans(???)

Who the fuck is buying the surfaces and the ipads and the iphones?? Who buys the music, floods the cinemas, watches the tv series...what a fucking moron

Everyone is excited for new games and Scorpio and I'm over here wanting Cities Skylines DLC to be announced for console.

On the hype train for Scorpio tho. Choo Choo!
