Phil Spencer walks on to the stage at the end

"And one more thing"

fades to black trailer starts

GUHUH

LOL. Got me with the guhuh, good one.

If we get a new Banjo this E3 I will eat my sock, no way, right guys?

I know you all love Banjo but I played the games the first time in the Rare Replay collection and found them mildly fun. I guess it just doesn't fit into today's standards? Either way I'm not attached to the IP and would rather get something completely new. *ducks away*

Folks, I don't want to stop your excitement, but that's just a hint at a longer Sea of Thieves demonstration. Rare is a 1-game studio these days.

Screen fades to black, you hear the sound of a chainsaw. The "Project Spark Closing" sign is show. Conker appears, chainsaw in hand, cuts the "Closing" word in half. Project Spark is back. Except that Conker sheds its fur, and Young Conker was underneath the whole time. Project Spark & Young Conker adventures coming fall 2017

I mean.
No leaks so far, but devs and press sure like dropping hints.
Cool and all but i want surprises

Also.
Remember what happened to Conker

this would be the best thing ever, I would love to see the reactions here

Salty I know you had certain requirements of how many games needed to be announced for this to be a good E3, but how many games does a Banjo-Threeie count for??? ;)

If it's made by Rare and directed by Gregg Mayles as hinted I won't even be alive for that to matter so cares about my requirements.

I actually started Banjo-Kazooie for the first time a few hours ago, thanks to the Game Pass trial. I gotta say I feel the opposite towards the game.
At first I thought 'okay so I just run around and what? punch some creatures and collect stuff?' But then the mole started to show me A LOT of different moves that either Banjo or Kazooie could perform, and I noticed just how packed with content the levels are, but at the same time how small they really are. Then a magician turnt me into an ant that could climb really steep surfaces and I saw the real potential of the platforming. I'm now in the beach level (sorry I can't remember a single name lol) and I can't wait to fire it up again.

Banjo 3 is happening isn't it?

Edit: Yeah salty she's saying that jokingly but I assumed you knew that?

IMO, Banjo 3 or something similar is EXACTLY what MS needs to get back to on the hardcore gamer's good side. It's a single player experience with heavy nostalgia that fills a gap in the Xbox's lineup.

You and me, both.

Treasure Trove Cove it is. Have fun, in my eyes it is one of the best games ever made and I enjoy it immensely every time I play it. Level design is probably the best I have ever experienced.

If Rare shows one more project, please let it be a new IP. Old Rare IP can be made with the help of third party devs like Killer Instinct.

2 new IP's on the go simultaneously is a bit much don't you think? If Banjo 3 is made by Rare it'll probably be a smaller $20-$40 game (which is a good thing IMO)

I'm pretty sure they've confirmed they're making at least 1 more game and are more than a 1 game studio.

I don't remember where I read this though, was quite awhile ago.

Rare could also be like how 343 is with Creative assembly. They can "supervise" another studio with a rare property. Doesn't have to be Banjo

Well they're both over 15 years old. Mechanics would be updated to today's standards.

Not true. Rare has an incubation team that Louise actually leads!

"June 2014 – Present (3 years 1 month)
The incubation team at Rare is a multi discipline team responsible for defining and innovating ideas relevant to current and future projects at Rare. I manage the day to day running of this team and am responsible for the output of the team, ensuring that we strive for quality, unique and fun experiences that put players at the core of our decisions. This team is a creative hub of talented and inspiring people, I believe in having passionate and dedicated people on a team like this, each one invested in the success of our work. My role consists of ensuring the team is right, the people are enabled to do great things, the wider studio and org is inspired and that we deliver great products which players will love."

Could be success if done right, look at Ratchet & Clank, that's the path Rare should go IMO.

40$, Pixar-like graphics.

Yeah, I expect Banjo 3 to be a smaller scale project. I believe there was an indication that one of the projects Rare was working on was smaller in nature, so I'm thinking that would be Banjo 3 potentially.

Kyle Bosman is the biggest Rare hater I've seen in games media and he played the original Banjo for the first time last year and ended up considering it one of his top-20 games of all time. Not liking that game even today is a simple matter of bad taste, sorry y'all.

Ok, it's happening, guys.

Actually, Banjo-Threeie by a different team would be a very difficult thing to do. What makes Banjo so amazing is its masterful level design which is really hard to replicate even for people who were on the team. I see no other studio outside of Nintendo (which are obviously not going to make Banjo-Threeie) that could do Banjo justice. A new Banjo with level designs by and supervised by Gregg Mayles could easily shape up to be one of the best designed games on Xbox One.

Wait... creative assembly are the ones that made alien isolation.

If they're making this halo: gravemind with the same concept of alien... holy shit.

Then I simultaneously hope the game exists and that you don't die before you get to play it ;)

Sorry man, I'm never playing that game one way or another. If it exists, it will be just matter of whether I'll die from my head exploding during the announcement of from the crow overdose I'll have after the conference.

Thanks, I will!
Also they sure had some cool ass sharks and crabs back then, I'd love that monster variety for Sea of Thieves.

The Banjo backpacks and now these tweets.....
giphy.gif

Plus a bunch of rhyme tweets. And before those, there was Gregg Mayles acknowledging the possibility of making a new Banjo. All of this within the past few weeks.

They are so fucking dumb. Go back to being a secretive studio, that way you won't hurt your fanbase for no reason. Fucking morons.
