Sony E3 Conference confirmed for usual time (Monday 6pm PT)

It's almost Friday. Sony is quiet, too quiet. Not even an indie games push on their channel.

They've said that GTS, Spider-Man, Lost Legacy, Days Gone, and GoW will be there. There's also supposed to be a focus on Japanese titles. But that's about all they can say as it's clear their E3 is built entirely around software.

Imgur looks better to me, the Giphy seems a little jittery.

Giphy looks good , although use the one with small filesize :P

Thx for the feedback! Imgur is def faster, larger (in res) and has a better framerate! Giphy has the quality advantage that better show the color edits I did (how it goes black and white except for the red during Krato's rage).

Will probably just stick with imgur like I have been doing

gotta say Im a bit surprised too.

Last year they had some stuff on their Monday pre-show. Bound got a new trailer there, they pushed indie games associated with them like ABZÛ (got a date and a new trailer) and Pyre (got a new trailer) and even showed some Ubisoft games like Eagle Flight and Watch Dogs 2.

Maybe they will do the same this year, but with more PS first party games like Matterfall and Knack 2

This week we had 13 Sentinels and Dissidia FF NT confirmed. I'm pretty satisfied till now and hopeful for a great Press.

It's so weird to me that they'd announce a DeS or Shenmue remaster on stage but not announce Uncharted Collection on stage.

We got Grim Fandango on stage back in '14, and it was kind of a big deal. Absolutely no reason why we wouldn't see Demon's Souls or Shenmue HD announced the same way. Especially the latter, which would be both a massive crowd-pleaser and further promotion for Shenmue 3, which Sony has invested some marketing dollars into I believe.

Before conferences I like to through the last one to temper my expectations and better predict what's ahead. While doing so I measured the time dedicated to different segments. I don't really think you can learn all that much from this but I thought I might as well share.
General - TOTAL 8 Min (11%)
3 min - Shawn Layden Intro
3 min - PS VR Launch Details
2 min - Ending Montage

New Exclusive Games - TOTAL 34 Min (45%)
15 min - God of War (5 Min Orchestra + 10 min Gameplay)
10 min - Days Gone (2 min Trailer + 8 min Gameplay)
2 min - Farpoint
1 min - Batman Arkham VR
1 min - Crash Bandicoot Remake
5 min - Death Stranding
2 min - Spider-Man PS4

Old Exclusive Games - TOTAL 14 Min (19%)

2 min - The Last Guardian
8 min - Horizon: Zero Dawn
4 min - Detroit: Become Human

Multiplatform with Exclusive Content - TOTAL 19 Min (25%)
4 min - Resident Evil VII (+VR)
1 min - Star Wars Battlefront VR
2 min - Final Fantasy XV (1 min Trailer + 1 Min VR)
6 min - Call of Duty IW
2 min - Call of Duty MW Remastered
1 min - Skylanders (Ft. Crash)
3 min - LEGO Star Wars
I think the only thing we can say for sure is that Call of Duty will be getting their contractually obligated 8 minutes this year too. The Spider-Man and God of War demos will almost certainly also be 8 min each. Spider-Man taking Horizon's spot and God of War taking Days Gone ending spot. Personally I would also say that's it's safe to assume that Sucker Punches new game will get the >10 min opening segment, but who knows?

Looks like 13 Sentinels won´t have a playable demo at E3.

13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim

ATLUS will have an exclusive new trailer for the hotly anticipated Western release of Vanillaware's 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim, a story of battle-ready youths, humanity and...giant mechs. Plus, be sure to take a photo with the 13 Sentinels mech standee to receive a gorgeous poster featuring Vanillaware's signature flair (while supplies last)

Interesting, thanks for that.

I'm fully expecting Sony to dedicate the majority of their time to new/exclusive games again this year.

I know there's still time, but given the lack of Sony info this week I'm starting to think they might go crazy with exclusives during the conference. Show everything (except DS and TLOU2)!!

Like everything that could have been a conference no-show like Lost Legacy, Knack 2, Dreams and such will be there. We would be talking like 8 big exclusives not even including new announcements o_0

Haven't been able to think about this conference at all before now since I had to get my bachelors exam out of the way - but now, the hype slowly starts building up!

Remember that Days Gone is going to be at E3 "in a big way" so, maybe that means a considerable footage in conference.

Yep .
I expect both to have awesome gameplay demos .
We need to see a GOW set piece since no one does them like SSM.
Naughty Dog's set a very high bar for OTT and intimate moments.

I think you're probably on the money here. I think they're just going to stuff it with everything they've got one after the other.

I think Spiderman and GoW both get release dates. Also no Dreams(MM)?

You think they will have that much VR saturation?

Because VR is selling decently. They also invested two studios just for VR to show their commitment for the platform. So definitely more than 10 min when it comes to VR. Also, people here on GAF have been asking for more PSVR effort from Sony, so E3 is the perfect time to address that.

I wish we could get some sort of confirmation as to how long the Sony conference will be. Would do a lot of bump up my excitement given that there's bound to be a few games that will not impress trailer wise.

With how quiet Sony seems to be (even relative to last year), I hope it's 90 minutes long.

Edit: Even this thread is quieter than usual I feel. I suppose that speaks to MS just having a lot on stake for their conference this year that the MS E3 thread is zipping by.

Size doesn't matter my man.

You're worrying too much. Calm down. There will be plenty of time to criticize their conference once it's over if they don't deliver. : ]

Haha. I just like knowing the timing when watching a conference.

You're worrying too much. Calm down.

Nah, not worried. Just a bit disappointed at most I guess. This is mostly just stuff that won't really matter once the conference is over and I've seen the game demos.

Edit: To clarify, disappointment comes from a lack of hype for Sony's conference (relative to last year). Which is something I always enjoy leading up to a conference.
