Watch KH3 be at Microsofts conference rather than Sonys. In fact, I do think a couple of bigger JP titles might show up in that conference instead (maybe even DMC5?) while Sony goes for a select few big JP title announcements (e.g. Monster Hunter).

I don't think anyone has marketing for KH3 yet either, so maybe both conferences if it's coming out soon?

Define ''coming out soon'' :p

In a way it would be hilarious for MS to have shelved big bucks for KH3 marketing deal, while Sony was getting Fifa 2018, RDR2 and Battlefront 2 among others.

I don't see it happening though.

Oh, I don't think they'll have any sort of major marketing deal for the game, even if it shows up at the conference (which is unlikely....is the game going to be at E3 this year, period?). Plenty of games have appeared on the Xbox stage without marketing deals attached, such as MGSV and Dark Souls III.

Random, is Detroit going to be like... point and click like Zero Escape series or will there be actual... gameplay? That E3 trailer from last year seems very pointy and clicky.

Unless KH3 has Sony marketing, I'm not sure why it couldn't be at the MS conference. Unless SE cancels the XB1 version, showing the game on MS' stage is probably the most marketing that version will ever get.

And really, I'm just spitballing. Conference time is limited. Sony can't show every JP game they want to. Let's not forget, they never gave something like Nier or Persona stage presence at E3. So I think, in the absence of a marketing deal, there's a host of other factors that come into play in determining what gets shown.

KH III was announced at their conference. You can't compare KH to Nier or Persona, KH is a much bigger deal.

Best conference opener:

What´s your guess?
I have it on pretty good authority that From isn't showing any ARPGs this year, or at the very least its incredibly unlikely.
Armored Core is iffy.
So in terms of From ARPG I think you're getting a reveal next year and a release the year after as per tradition.
I don't really know what to make of Armored Core as of yet.
Either way though, I wouldn't expect anything from From this year as that's what I've been told. Fromsoft is also usually pretty leaky with their games and we usually have visuals and details weeks or months in advance prior to release. Happened with Bloodborne and Dark Souls 3 and since we've had none of that I don't believe they're at a stage where they're close to reveal.

Right, sure, no argument from me. But the game showing up showing up at Sony's conference doesn't stop it from showing up at MS's conference.

Or imagine a scenario where SE doesn't even want to present a trailer at E3 cause the game is a bit too far away. But MS convinces SE to give them a small bit for this conference since they plan on unveling Scorpio and want a wider breadth of titles at display to help sell their rebranding.

That the game isn't locked down for marketing means it could show up wherever, much like FFXV.

..And FFXV. But yea, it ain't happening. It's probably one of the first deals they made going into this gen(if they are smart, and they have been).

But whatever, it won't even be at Sony's conference this year.

Fair enough. I just assumed it would be revealed this E3 since they have been a freaking machine for years.
And as you said it doesn´t take too long before reveal and launch.

If you played any of their previous games, you walk around, 3rd person, and investigate, travel to different places, talk to people. So you move freely in a 3D space, then you get a branching tree of choices, whether questions, answers, or things you want to investigate.

So I guess it can be Point and Click in a sense, where you pick the best choice of what to ask, what to answer, what to investigate. But you still get to walk around, 3rd person perspective, and choose what you want to investigate and who you want to talk to.

I'm not sure. But FFXV was shown at the Xbox conference last year, so it's possible.
I honestly think they only showed it at MS conference to give the game an extra push on the console since I believe they must have known that the majority of sales will be coming from PS4 either way. Plus Sony had a trailer and that extra Prompto VR mode.

I could see it happening again. Specially since you know, the Xbox doesn't have a single KH game o_O

It's more like I don't want to believe you haha.

Just wouldn't make sense for Fromsoft to skip another year before revealing it's new ARPG, IMO.
It was easier for them to put out games at a quicker pace because all the souls games are relatively similar games in gameplay, structure, etc.

Their next ARPG isn't really a Souls game, its a departure from that and thus its likely taking more time so they can innovate and reinvent. It's not going to be another Dark Souls>Bloodborne jump

right, I also don't think it's impossible for KH III being shown at MS press. But since this year MS will most likely be 100% focused on Scorpio I'm only expecting games shown running on it, I could be wrong though.

DMC has deep roots to the Playstation brand, that ain't happening.

MGSV was shown at MS's conference in 2013 with the infamous Greenberg tweet that it was exclusive before he corrected it.

And MGS is as PlayStation as DMC, if not more so given how quickly Sony snatched up Kojima. Not saying it's going to happen, but it wouldn't surprise me.

I expect we will see some FFVII gameplay trailer followed by "now in development". I also think we will actually see some extended KHIII gameplay as well because its been so long since the announcement and we haven't seen much so now is the time. No way either shows up at Xbox.

What are the chances of seeing a sly cooper reboot/sequel at the conference? Or at the very least give spyro the nsane treatment. We want 3d platformers Sony!

No Death Stranding and also no From Software?

I mean, there could still be Armored Core. Im just 99.999% sure we won't be seeing any ARPG this year.

I did ask about it and they kinda said to temper my expectations. So Fromsoft could show up just not with their new IP
theres also no Fromsoft made Bloodborne 2, theoretically Sony could do it alone but its incredibly unlikely

Never played AC so I'm not exactly hyped for that, but I really wanted to know more about their new ARPG. Since Shawn said there will be japanese games at the conference my expectations were high... bummer.

Bloodborne is my favorite game this gen but I really don't want a sequel made by someone other than From. It's their game.

DMC5's chances?

Armored Core is confirmed. It more of a when it will be revealed. I'm willing to bet TGS for that one.
