I wish they don´t, but yeah they might show something big.
I think the impact will be less shocking, since last year´s presentation was a huge change in direction which people got used already.

The camera and narrative change was the big hook last year.
Now we need the blood, guts and eyeballs being ripped out..in 4k :)

It was always curious to me that Shinobi (IIRC?) last year was positive Bends game was Dead Don't Ride even on the conference day itself which did seem to fit with the zombie apocalypse/guy on bike theme of Days Gone.

Probably a simple mix up somewhere along the line but would like to know what Dead Don't Ride is/was.

I feel like there was a shift in tone with the game along development. Dead Don´t Read seem more arcadey and fun. Days Gone more grounded. Just a guess.

Probably have a 10-15 minute SP demo at EA's, than show off some MP at Sony's and probably announce a beta or something.

Gamespot mention something about a 20vs20 live match will be showcased on June 10th livestream. So I assume it will be something like Battlefield 1 last year.

I remember when "Dead Dont Ride" got teased, Shinobi or whoever said "The apocalypse is good fun"

When i'm seeing Days Gone, i don't feel like this fits at all lol

I don´t think that was missing though, there was that enemy Kratos killed bare handed and the Big troll smashed and then killed after that disappointment of a son failed.

I think it was a full package and it could only go bigger, as GOW does masterfully. But I don´t really want more spoiled.

Shinobi definitely mentioned something about Black Humor, whatever it is, they definitely changed the tone to a more serious game.

I want to see more combat in real time and how somebody would actually be playing. It felt to scripted last year. And I would be down for a mini boss battle or something along those lines that isn't all QTEs.

Yeah...Here is the full tweet:

It generally fits with Days Gone but the tone is off somehow...

Maybe the vertical slice we got last year really isn't representative of the game?

Bend should've went with a more lighthearted tone for Days Gone imo. Like a Mad Max kinda world with zombies and speedjunkies.

Atm it just looks like a half-hearted TLOU attempt story and setting-wise.

I don't know how you can say that. And the TLoU comparisons are laughable as if that game was the first post apocalyptic game creates.

This i agree with, when i read what Shinobi wrote i was imagining some whacky Dead Rising+Mad Max like game.

I'm still happy with what we got tho.

Deep Down or whatever it's turned into... March 2018

Gaming isn't the same without a ARPG in March. Maybe that's why FROM, allegedly, isn't showing anything as well... The next 9 months is loaded with games... It'd be better for Sony to spread it out.

Days Gone didn't exactly grab me last year but I'm totally open to it, they have had plenty of time now to prepare. It's not like it was a bad reveal, we got a gameplay slice and all.

I don't think 30 minutes is conceivably enough time for Sony to show all that they want to show at their presser, even if it is literally trailer after trailer after trailer. It's just too short a running time. The only good that would come from a 30 minute Sony conference would be the comedy value in seeing Shawn Layden full-on sprinting to the stage and reading the teleprompter in fast-forward.

Maybe, I wish I was as optimistic as you are. Last year was a big disappointment to me and I actually wouldn't mind a shorter conference from everyone this year lol.

The one post about Days Gone that I'll never forget...

And to make matters worse, that was before we even knew TLoU 2 was a thing.

lmao this is kinda depressing for sony gaf, the xbox thread has a hype train and people teasing stuff on twitter and we here have basically nothing :P

Well, MS has Phil who always hype up their conference to the moon, while Sony executives rarely says anything about the conference.

Anything serious = TLoU.

How is the comparsion "unfair"?

They're both WWS games from Sony, they both feature a serious and human take on the zombie apocalypse and both Days Gone and TLOU pt2 had a foresty setting in their annoucement trailers.

I'm not saying they're the same but I think it's obvious Bend was insipred by TLOU, especially with the rather somber intro with the dude remembering his girlfriend before the apocaypse etc. I'm just not feeling it at all from what I've seen. TLOU pt2 is gonna eat its lunch eitherway.

Itsuno needs to make a new Power Stone first. Devil May Cry and Dragons Dogma get ports at least. The last time we got anything Power Stone related was the PSP Collection. And thats not the best platform for Power Stone to be on.

Just bring the collection to Ps4/Switch/Xbox/PC.
RIP Power Stone :(

The best platform for a new Power Stone to be on would be the Dreamcast 2 though, as an exclusive.

DREAMS!

What kind of games do you like or want to see because it is pretty rare to see someone that was disappointed by last year's conference as the vast majority loved it.

O come on with this...
I suppose the new Gow is a last of us spinoff than Ai companion, forest area, serious tone 🤷🏽*♂️

It was a mistake that TLOU exists, because any game with similarities to it will consider to be a clone.
/s

Never said it's a clone, just that Days Gone is a bit too alike TLOU setting wise for me to really get much interest in it, especially as both are from Sony's first party and ND is far more superior than Bend in output.

I do hope a new demo/trailer this E3 distinguishes it a bit more.

Huber from EZA pointed out a good aspect of Days Gone that I think could really set itself apart from other zombie games story wise, including TLOU, if it ends up being the case.

Most zombie titles have the story and world still coming to terms with the zombie outbreak and how humanity will adjust to it. Even TLOU, with the 20 year gap, used it as a prominent backdrop for the story. The cure was the motivational factor for the journey.

Where as with Days Gone, it seems that everyone has come to accept the state of the world. The MC is a bounty hunter hunting one guy in the first demo, not really phased by the zombies as you'd sort of expect when he's chasing him down. The zombies exist but they're basically a part of the world. It's become an understood part of society and not this element that they're struggling to survive against.

I think if they go with that angle as the game seems to, it could provide for a fairly interesting story.

If Days Gone had a silly aspect to it, I probably wouldn't care about it. I don't think it works well in zombie games, and I think it's harder to pull off than a serious story.

You want humor with your zombies you have Dead Rising.
You want seriousness, and main focus on narrative you have State of Decay/ 2, TLOU/ 2, and Days Gone.

I do think the demo last year was underwhelming though, the design of the E3 demo just has so many flaws and is grounded in that old tradition of E3 demo's where everything has to be perfect, and you can't be seen as weaker than you actually are, so let's activate God mode. If someone's assumption was they had unlimited ammo, and the enemies don't attack them, they'd have every reason to think that's in the final product because that's how Bend presented it, and that's unacceptable. The demo had some neat stuff to it, and I can see how it'll be different from TLOU, but that doen't excuse poor decisions. In the first TLOU footage we saw, Joel got hit, he took damage, enemies attacked him.

Yes, I have an different opinion then some of you guys, no need to twist my words into "all zombie games are TLOU clones lol" because of it. If you don't see the similarities and think it's perfectly fine that Sony pushes out two 3rd person shooters in a human and serious zombie apocalypse setting, then simply ignore my opinions regarding Days Gone.

You could look at more than three simple things instead of trying to automatically make it out to be tlou
Tlou has
A forest yes many games do
Apocalyptic setting(not anything new)
Clickers(zombies)
Crafting(every game has this now)

Tlou does not have
Open world
Day/night cycle dynamic weather
Open world traversal on a bike
Missions
Environmental traps(setting a bomb on logs to have them go rolling, knocking down wood pieces to slow them down)
Freakers(zombies) are not clickers freakers need food
Hordes are only one type and are most notably found near heavy food sources
